SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Oct 10th

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Oct 10, 2023 5:20 am

Good morning,

It's 53* here and raining. We may possibly even get T&L and hail later today. Should be an interesting weather week. I hope it clears up next week for our camping trip to the ocean.

Bill got Unicorn loaded on the LA yesterday and will at least get started quilting it today. He's going to use a simple pattern and it's a small quilt (62" square), so it should go quickly. I got my narwhat block done and today I'll be turning it into a 24" pillow cover. I still need to bind and lable Lemur and Unicorn and then the Christmas sewing will be finished! Whoo Hoo! We did it! Next will be choosing projects and fabrics to pack into trailer for winter sewing in Texas. I already have some kitted up but will probably need more.

We have appts for our Covid shots this afternoon. I think we'll be done then - Covid, flu, RSV, and Bill had to get his d-tap brought up to date. Bill will have 12 hours of light flu sx after the Covid shot (he thinks he's dying, of course). I have very little reaction.

BECCA - I will be needing to bring my house plants in off the deck soon, too. I don't have too many. Plants are a pain when you are gone for 3 months at a time. I love the Parkway for the beautiful scenery and the fact that there is no commercial traffic allowed and no commercial buildings either. I know you will love your trip(s). What are you embroidering now?

CAROL - we have those signs around our neighborhood, too, and we always know it's generally the same story - cat vx coyote. But you found the cat!! I hope the owner answers you. If not, sounds like you might have a pretty new cat! You can call him/her Tony/Toni for St. Anthony - patron saint of lost and found. :D Good luck to your DH with his colonoscopy. Bill had his a couple months ago.

TINA - glad your vehicle is home again. And super glad Frankie is so talented and if anyone can repair it, he can. But if he can't, can you get by without replacing it? Prices for used vehicles have skyrocketed (along with everything else. ) At least this gives Frankie something to think about besides the Broncos. Good to hear Mary Rose is doing OK. She was pretty sick for a while. How did her son do in his surgery? Same surgery Jana's Michael had. How are you feeling after chiropractor? I see mine tomorrow - and a massage.

LORI - you had a busy day! A fun class and a family visit. Groceries and cooking might be less fun, but better than dental appts! We are at the end of our teriyaki chicken so we might use the last of our shell pasta dish and make a creamy chix pasta soup. It's certainly soup weather here!

What's the plan at your house?

Good morning all 🌞
Mary, yay for another quilt to be getting quilted! I knew you'd have everything ready in plenty of time.
I have to call again and see if they have the newest covid vaccine here yet, they didn't 2 weeks ago.
Yes, we can do without my suburban, I didn't drive it much anymore because it hurt me the worst, even to town trips anymore. But I will be hopeful to get something else in 2 years at the latest. I'm hoping by then the used vehicle prices will get back to normal, they are crazy high right now.
I didn't hear from Maryrose yesterday after the surgery but I'm hoping she was just too relieved and busy to call 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I do feel better this morning after my chiropractor visit yesterday 🥰 maybe I can get back to the Christmas quilts today and I'll start the laundry too so I can keep moving.
Carol, coyotes get small animals here a lot too, I'm glad that kitty found safety at your house. Did the owners contact you?
Becca, you could always have Spring and Summer by your sliding glass doors ❤️🤭
Lori, can we see your table runner when you get it finished please? Sounds like your day was great, my kind of day! Your sauces sound delicious!
Lori has me wanting pancakes with her sauces now for supper but I have no sauces hmmmmmm. What else can I make.......🤔

Good Morning,

We got back from DH by 9:00 AM this morning. All is well, after having breakfast he is sleeping and I did take a bit of a nap. While his procedure was going on I got gas for the car at Costco, went to Post Office and had breakfast. I can get back to quilting today.

Maryz - Good work! You are ready to prepare for trip South. Are you planning to stop in Colorado to see your sister or is she going to be able to travel South too?

Becca - Another baby? Wonderful!! I vote you make a quilt. I had pancakes for breakfast this morning. You have made me hungry for them recently!

Tina - Hope the car can be repaired. Bet that is a great vehicle for you to haul stuff.

Lori - The "owner" finally answered our email at 2:00 AM today. He didn't think the cat was his. We don't have possession of it. We do not feed the cat. We do brush him. He is a very sweet kitty. Someone must be feeding him and I think it is probably the lady two doors down who feeds all sorts of cats, dogs and wild animals.

Guess I will get to quilting. Yesterday morning when I was at Doctor my blood pressure was a bit low. He wants me to keep an eye on it, but also wants me to make sure I am drinking enough water. Word to the wise drink water!

Dinner tonight will be leftover Chicken and Rice for DH and for me Vegetable Soup. I think I will suggest DH have some broccoli too.

Carol, we that's a bummer. Hopefully he will find his kitty, but I bet a coyote found it first.

Tina, I want pancakes now too. I'll probably make some tomorrow. We go out on Tuesdays.

Mary, I too will be getting projects ready to take with me next week. We are doing a 5 day retreat in our local mountains. I have a few projects I'm thinking about taking. I was cleaning the sewing room closet yesterday and came across come that are ready to go.

I had a doctors appointment this morning for my cancer follow up. Every 6 months for the first 5 years.
2 years down, 3 to go. Then I came home and walked Jack and Wrigley. Then vacuumed the house.
Now I'm waiting for Bill to get home from golf so we can go to lunch. Not sure what we will have yet.
Maybe Mexican or Cheesecake factory.

I have guild tonight. We are starting in a new location. Our other location went up to $450 a month, so we found another place that is less than half. We are non profit and just can't afford the higher rent.

Won't have dinner tonight. Just snack a bit.

Have a lovely day.
Lori 8-)

I'm back.....
Carol, oh I was hoping it was the missing kitty, sadness. Yes, we've hauled all kinds of stuff in our suburban over the years, with the middle seats laid down and the back ones taken out its a full 8'x4' enclosed truck! 🤣 Plus it hauled cheerleaders and their stuff, all the school dances and fancy dresses, all kinds of musical instruments and band kids, camping and fishing stuff, all kinds of picnics, worked great for moving kids things, hid birthday and Christmas stuff, hauled Dad home from the hospital after knee replacement surgery etc.... it's like an extension to the family.
Lori, I hope only good news from your doctor 🙏
I didn't get to work on quilts today....Preston got sick at school so I made a corner in the living room with the couches covered and gave him a bucket. 🤢🤮 he was so pale when he got here. Thankfully no more tummy troubles here.
I forgot it's pizza night, not sure if we're going, they only have tonight's and Halloween night left for the year. Frankie's been pumping 30+ gallons of gas out of the suburban and it has one of those anti theft necks in the filling part so it's been slow going. Plus he's been putting a fuel pump in a truck and new fuel lines on it and then putting the fuel tank back on. He's been busy.
