We are in for a wet and windy day. Of all weather extremes I hate wind the most. And Bill will be gone to Oregon for at least 3 days, probably 4. If we lose power, that's OK. I can build fires, cook on the wood stove, fill bathtubs for flushing, and open wine. But it's just nicer to have him here.
I have 5 quilts in the QQ and they now all have backings pieced and are ready to go - whenever "go" happens. Three have bindings made and the other two will have bindings made from leftover backing so they have to wait until after quilting. I started a tote in Mickey Mouse fabrics for my younger sis's birthday but now have to set that aside until my fusible fleece arrives. I only had half what I needed. I'm also looking at my shirt patterns for Christmas gifts for my grandsons. I haven't made shirts in probably 25 years. I used to be quite good at garment sewing, but my skills are rusty. Crossing fingers here!
While Bill is gone I plan to give the whole house a good thorough cleaning, go shopping for a few new clothes, and maybe hit Joann's for new shirt patterns. I'll keep myself busy, for sure. I always do.

VELDA - your fabrics you've found so far are great! All my favorite colors! Yes, Autumn is still working full time. And also going to school, working on an MBA. She already has an MLIS but needs the MBA for the new position she will be taking next year when her boss retires. She is exhausted all the time. The baby is a girl and they may have already decided on her name, but they aren't telling yet.
CAROL - your quilts are awesome! Congratulations on all that hard work and such beautiful results! I can't believe you did all that intricate quilting yourself! You said you had a Handi-quilter. How long is your frame? No baby shower yet that I know of. I've asked Antonio if he knew of any being planned but he never answered me. There is no one here but me for a shower, but I suspect her staff will hold one for her. I have gifts all ready to go - soft baby cowboy boots, a cute little outfit, and I plan to order diapers and have them delivered to her. LOTS of diapers!
LORI - wow! That's a lot of sewing in just a couple days! Glad you've found your sew-jo again!
BECCA - glad the shower was fun and they got so many needed things. Babies can really go through stuff! I know you're going back to your house today - a 3 hr drive if I remember correctly. Part of me is going with you.
Last night was baked chicken. I made a side dish of rice and broccoli - sort of a 'divan' dish. I didn't follow any recipe but just tossed in some uncooked rice, broccoli florets, mushroom soup, mushrooms, leftover cheese sauce, diced onion, 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes, some milk, some water, and S&P. And it turned out and Bill loved it!!

What are you having tonite?
