We are going into the 90's again today. And for the next 2-3 days as well! Other than for a few drops one morning about 2 weeks ago, we haven't had any rain for almost 3 months and none is predicted for the next two weeks at least. It's getting awfully dry here and we have some big fires going. Strict fire bans are in place in almost all of Washington, even in campground firepits. So our neighbor, Tammy, a tavern/restaurant waitress who lives in the house with the big dead tree and who works evening shift, came home with friends after work and built a big bonfire at 12:30am! I swear, between Vicki and Tammy and the tree, our house is going down!!
JANA - I'm glad Kate is feeling better. I took meds for nausea with my first two, though I don't think mine was nearly as bad as Kate. It was just what we did back then. I wouldn't mind a helping of your creamed chipped beef on toast! I haven't had that in probably 35 years! I sometimes make the same thing for Easter breakfast but sub in sliced boiled eggs for the beef.
LINDA - you have probably melted away by now and can't post! Or eat!
BECCA - nice to have a good visit with friends! Did Denise arrive yet? You never heard of "lupper"? It's like "brunch", between lunch and supper. Or "linner" if you prefer! lol!
CHICKIE - I know you were busy yesterday with mom and then making food for tonite's street dance. Would love to be there for that! We love dancing!
TINA - How are your parents doing? I imagine you are growing weary of having everyone ask, "When is the move going to happen"? Though, to be honest, with the way your family is (no offense), you might consider that age-old phrase, "Be careful what you wish for".
Tomorrow is my DSIL's birthday. He will be 49. FORTY-NINE!! I've known this kid since he was 9 and my DD was 6! Though they didn't become "Lee & Lara" until they were 14 & 17. Married at 18 & 21. They've been soulmates almost as long as they've been alive. Anyway, we are meeting them at a pub/restuarant of his choosing at happy hour to celebrate the big day and also give them their bike quilt. I named it "Cruisin' Together", but the pattern name is "Mod Cruiser". It's of a big pieced lime green bike on a solid black quilt. They LOVE bikes and bike decor.
Also, Bill finished quilting Fancy Forest so I'll bind that today and mail it off to Autumn in Texas. Then all three of my kids will have their "for no reason except that Mom loves them and can't stop making quilts" quilts.

If you're still with me, you know there's no cooking here today! Hooray! We'll be eating something at the restaurant for "Lupper". We'll hopefully beat the crowds and get happy hour prices!
Happy Eating!
