Carolyn, he is going to LOVE this quilt! You did such a nice job! As for the angle on the back - let me tell you about my dresden plate (or daisy) quilt I did for my sis last March. I ran just a teensy bit short of fabric (about 2" x 18") for the back and had to piece it - with a fabric that didn't match. I talked to her yesterday and I mentioned that and she said she never noticed! So, I say - leave it!

Carolyn, it's beautiful! Love it all. If you haven't mentionned for the strip in opposite direction, I wouldn't have noticed it. I agree with others, leave it as it is!
