Invisible Thread
I am attempting to use a new stitch on my Pfaff incorporating cotton thread w/invisible thread. I have never used it before. It seems to break often. Are there any special things that I need to know to use invisible thread. Any dos or don't s?
Thanks!! Hugs to all from PA

Re: Invisible Thread
I learned from this site, when my thread kept breaking grrrrrr. to loosen the tension on the machine. In the search engine type in "invisible thread" and you will get lots of advice. It sure helped me.

Loosen the upper tension - sometimes it help to put the invisible thread on a thread stand behind the machine.

Re: Invisible Thread
Make sure you only use the invisable thread on top and a matching regular thread in the bobbin. I was trying to use it on top and in the bobbin and that's wrong. Bev

Re: Invisible Thread
I had to switch from nylon to polyester (Sulky) thread. The nylon was ok on stitch in the ditch, but when I tried free motion, it kept breaking. Switched to Sulky polyester and problem solved. Can't take credit, someone else on this forum came to my rescue!

Hi QG--
When I use invisible thread with my Pfaff, I use the .004 clear (sulky) I use a light weight cotton in bobbin (50 or 60wt), a new sharp needle, I need to loosen my tension on top quite a bit. That should work out OK for you. Please let me know if this helps

Quiltingrammy.
I have a Pfaff 2044 and I love it. I mostly do straight stitch in the ditch with invisible thread. It does break occasionally. Loosen the tension. I'm sending you a pm.

Re: Invisible Thread
I am trying to hand sew with invisible thread and keep losing it. That is the hardest stuff to work with. I guess that is why they call it invisible thread.
