Where can I find the F&P tip about backings
I saw on F&P's show that you can cut a piece of backing fabric on the diagonal, shift the pieces to become wide enough for the quilt top and save fabric. I looked on their site to try to find out the angles to cut, etc. but can't find it (they said on the show it was online, I think). I recall they said that it only works if the top is no more than 1.5x the width of the fabric you're cutting. Does anyone know where to find a write up of this tip or can anyone experienced using the tip give me the particulars? Thanks!

I have done this in the past, however its been awhile. I think you cut the fabric on the diagonal from on corner to the other. then shift the fabric down until you get the right width. I know it only works for smaller projects. Marge

I remember seeing that show. I had taped it, but I think I have since deleted it. I can check to see if I have it. If so, I can tape it for you. I really think it is deleted but I will see and let you know.

I'm going to dive in and cut the backing tonight! I wanted to do it last night but didn't get the chance. It's scary to make such a long cut! Wish me luck.
