Good morning It is around 30 this morning It is therapy day for Val and I.
When I get home I will see about laying out the hockey quilt for Liam. I will continue to hand applique the Jane but I really need to get this going,
The boys won their hockey game last night 6-0 a great game for us.
I think I will make spagetti for supper tonight, I am over my spagetti jar phobea.. 2 days ago.I dropped a jar of sauce on the kitchen floor and it was between my pantry and another cabinet and sauce and glass went every where, shot up the wall across my fridge door...I had 2 choices clean it up or burn the house down...I finally got it cleaned up...no easy task since I cannot kneel....but it was done,,,I have another jar of my favorite marinara sauce to start my sauce cooking. So that will be today,
Hope you all have a great day. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good morning,
Today it will be in the 30's also I have to remove the sheets and blanket and wash them I use to have a schedule for that but it went out the window we also have to go to the pharmacy and post office then home.
I now have five rows of blocks done will try and do some later or not it all depends on how the day goes yesterday I put a call into the nephrologist to see what is the time frame he will probably call me back today.
I think I will make chicken parm and a side order of spaghetti.
Judi a got a chuckle out of you decision about what to do with your jar sauce mess.

Well I think that's all the news off to strip the bed and was the sheets and blanket.
Have a nice day.
Prayers to all.

Good morning,

Our yard is starting to pop with flowers coming up, daffodils blooming, and yesterday I noticed our daphne shrub is in bloom and smelling so sweet!

JUDI - you are really cooking on your JA. How many blocks in all, aside from the larger center block, are there to stitch? And then you start the leaf garland? I'm sure I've asked, and equally sure you've answered. But I forget. You will soon be running out of hockey players. I guess Ken could sign up for a senior league . . . A real bummer about that spaghetti sauce. What a mess to clean up!

LOIS - you reminded me that we were going to wash our sheets the other day. Even left the bed unmade. But I guess we forgot. I went into the bedroom that night and the bed was still an unmade mess! Maybe today. It's LuLu day so we can do that while she's cleaning everything else. I hope your nephrologist calls you back today and you get some info. In the meantime - Raindrops (keep falling on your head . . .). Love that song! Is it in your head now?

LYN - so sorry your cold is turning into a monster. It's sure one you don't want to carry to Garry or anyone else there. I'm glad talking to you calmed him down. Does he have easy access to a phone? Layne has great aspirations. There is a very good diesel mechanic school in Prescott, AZ. Two of my nephews went there.

CHRISS - yesterday was Elliott Day. Today is window day! You are having some terrific days!

LORI - How long will your retreat be? Do you stay at the retreat or at a hotel? Did you say wine tasting...?? :D 🍷

JANA - shame on you! Sneaking out of church to buy play tickets! I think it was Michael Crawford that Autumn and I saw in NYC. I had to look it up as I didn't remember. And Aut played Christine when her drama club put on the play in high school. And surprise to us - she was able to hit those high notes! And "Phantom" in her play, Michael Buchannan, is now a successful Broadway actor in NYC.

MARY Q - I looked up Sidewalk Chalk. It's an interesting pattern. Not for everyone. What colors will you be doing it in? After a few years, are you sure she still likes it? No, I'm still waiting on U/S. I understand having to wait for an opening in the schedule, but I don't get the long wait for the appt to be made. Our Michael's has more fabric than yours, but not by much. Fleece and quite a bit of novelty (cartoons, etc), a few batiks, and some blenders. Not top quality, but workable for some projects. How do you make your bean and bacon soup? I love it but it's one soup I've never made.

Yesterday I got in nearly 7,000 steps. That's about 2-1/4 miles. Now both hips and low back are growling at me this morning. Ugh. I was up at 0300, on the heating pad and gobbling down my Tylenol. Yesterday we went to Costco, then came home and had to put everything away. I worked on my cross stitch until we went to the hospital to sit with friend, Doyle, while Susie was in 3-1/2 hr back surgery. We left when we heard she was in recovery and after surgeon came to talk to Doyle. On the way home we went to dinner at a restaurant where our grandson, Alec, worked for a few years. 5 min from his apartment. We called him to come join us - but he was in Portland! :( But Bill had a good steak and I had tasty squash ravioli.

Bill finished quilting Dinosaurs. So my task today is to bind and label. My walk this morning is going to be through the neighborhood. But after it gets light. LuLu is coming a little early today so I need to get showered and pick up a few things that will be in her way. Tonite's supper is probably going to be chili over baked potato, topped with shredded cheddar, sour cream, and green onions. Salad on the side. Unless Bill changes my mind. :D

Wishing everyone a happy hump day! 🐪

Good Morning All

It's Wonderful Wednesday!!! I'm an optimist, so I'll say we have a whole 1/2 a week left! (glass 1/2 full kind of thing)

Judi...Oh gosh... I can only imagine the mess a broken jar of spaghetti sauce makes all over the kitchen! That stuff splashes on a good day, but a whole jar hitting the floor!!! Only thing worse is having a full plate of spaghetti sauce slide off a plate and land on the brand new carpeting..... ask me how I know!
I do like of like the option of burning the house down tho, just think how fun (?) it would be to build an all new house and get all new dishes and pots and pans   Nah, keep your beautiful house!

Lois.... Sounds like you are making great progress on your rainbow (?) quilt. Is this the one for Bill? Were you able to get the one for your son-in-law all done too? Has Bill started his dialysis yet or are they still waiting to get all the ducks in a row so that he can start? Hope you get a call back soon!

Maryz... Oh how nice to see flowers popping up in your yard! Everything here is still buried under piles of snow! And I heard we are getting more snow next week! I have to say the pattern Annie chose isn't my favorite, but it's what she picked out. She can't have anything too flowery or fancy as her DH doesn't like. Hope Susie doing well after her back surgery!! Will keep her in good thoughts and prayers! Some days I am so tempted to get a Lulu! I could sure have more sewing time if somebody else would clean this house. I could get the same gal that does Katie next door and Peggy across the way! She could do all 3 of us in a row!

Jana... I agree... Michael Crawford!! Somewhere around here I have a CD of all Michael Crawford! Love his voice. I think it's all like Broadway musicals. But I have to say, that Gerard Butler (hubba hubba) did a pretty good job in the movie, I mean, who knew he could sing---he's just so darn cute! That's my criteria for any show I watch---is the main male character cute!

Lori....I was really disappointed at fabric at Michael's, I was hoping they would "go big". When the kids were in Canada I went to a Michael's there and they had the most gorgeous fabric and lots of it. Granted it was $22/yd in Canadian $$. How's the arm?

Chriss... Did you have a wonderful Elliott day? Rain today ,..... windows tomorrow? YEAH!

Not sure what the plan of the day is here today. I might have to run down to the kids house and meet an electrician there for some work they need done. Kris has a Hybrid Jeep and they need to have a better electrical plug installed to charge the car. A word of advice... .even if you have a hybrid, you can still get stranded on the side of the road if you are out of gas and your battery is dead! Ask Kris how she knows! Thankfully AAA to the rescue! Tomorrow I get to go pick up Zara for a long weekend sleep over! No sense vacuuming or washing floors today, will wait until she goes home next week!

Think I'll refill my coffee cup and see what trouble I can get into in the sewing room! I'm sure there's a mess to clean up in there!

Wishing you all the very best today!

Maryq, $22 a yard...dang. I guess things are more expensive up there. My friend has a Tesla. We were going to take it on a road trip to Oregon, so she did a test drive out to AZ to see a friend in Phoenix that's typically a 6 hours drive from us. It took her 9 hours because she needed to stop for charging to last the length of driving. There's a lot of open desert with nothing in sight. So we took a gas vehicle instead. Have fun with the grand doggy.

Jana, we got rain over night. It's clearing now.

Maryz, the retreat is from Monday morning to Thursday afternoon. I need to leave a little early as I have a doctors appointment in the afternoon on Thursday. Chili over baked potatoes is one of my favorites. We had it a few nights ago.

Lois, my sheet are in the wash as we speak. I do them on Wednesday unless that schedule gets messed up. Then it's a week from whatever day I did them last. I can't wait to see this quilt.

Judi, the spaghetti jar drop sounds like a nightmare. It amazes me how it goes everywhere when you drop a jar or glass.

Chriss, I bet you had a great day with Elliott yesterday.

We had some lovely rain over night. It's already starting to clear up so Jack took me out for a walk. I have errand to run today and the contractor doing work will be here this afternoon. We did not find stone at the location we went to last week. So we'll need to go look elsewhere. I did a little knitting last night while watching TV. I think I want to cut out a Bears Paw quilt. I saw one done is Christmas fabrics and it was really cute. Tamales and Mexican rice is on the menu for tonight.

Have a lovely day.

Good morning. It's going to be a rainy soggy windy day today. My window installation has been put off until tomorrow.

I had lots of fun yesterday. Elliott refused to nap so next week I am going to really wear that kid out. we will play hard and nap hard. At least that is the plan.

Today who knows. I have some chores but we will see if they get done.

Judi, my goodness that red sauce had to be a mess. I think I would have moved. So? what is your favorite marinara sauce? I use Rao's. What I should do next time I go grocery shopping is turn the label around to every sauce so I can read the nutrition facts. Then turn the ones with too much sugar around and go from there.

Lois, I love chix parm. hope your errands are quick and you get your call back early.

Maryz, I have tried every chili out there. home made for me is just way too much. I like the Costco chili, it's good enough and makes a few meals for me. By the time I am done eating it I am done with chili for a while. I bet the daffodils are pretty. I have blossoms on the plum tree but the other two fruit trees aren't doing anything yet. I'm not watering them, so we will see how long it takes before I can pull them out.

Jana, sounds like a peaceful day.

Maryq, when I bought my car I really weighed out the hybrid vs gas thing. There are electric bill discounts and you can use solar to charge it. I opted for the gas only version. I guess they could go solar incase the power goes out?

Lori, you'll find the perfect stone. There is a quarry near me in the town of Raymond. I'm glad things will get started for you, it's a big job remodeling a kitchen but with a contractor it should not take as long. that brave quilt is really pretty.

Lyn, I hope you are feeling better. How comforting to both you and Garry knowing that a speaker phone can calm things down. What a quick thinking Hospice Chaplin. So glad it worked. And such a quick and easy fix.

Dinner will be leftovers, sausage and cabbage. Hope you all have a super duper day

Lyn, on the days you can't make it out to see Garry, can you have the staff help him make a call to you? Does he have a phone in his room?
