We made it to Seattle and back yesterday - actually, north of Seattle near Kirkland where head of Costco is located. Bill's appt was quick, mole was nothing to concern the doc, but he did freeze it. We were home by noon. After lunch Bill did a little quilting on my R/W/B quilt and I started cutting fabrics for a new baking-themed Christmas project for my DGS whose passion is baking. It's by Kimberbell, called "We whisk you a merry Christmas". Takes about 40+ fabrics, but only little pieces - all applique. I can pull most of them from my stash, but will need to order a few, I think, for borders and backing. It's 38" sq which, I think is an awkward size - too big for wall hanging but too small for quilt. So I'm considering enlarging it with pieced borders. I also did some rearranging in my kitchen cabinets - moved the pans closer to the stove, put seldom used baking dishes on lower, pull-out shelves. I probably will be opening wrong cabinets for a few months, but now I have more space and I think work will flow better.
This morning I have a routine eye appt and this afternoon we're doing happy hour at friends'. I also plan to finish cutting for the new project and I hope Bill finishes the R/W/B so I can bind it. I found a small iron on applique of American flag, so it will be purrfect on the label of this quilt. Laundry is starting to mound up again and the sheets need washing. So there is no lack of 'entertainment' for me today.
IRISH - those are a lot of good authors! I've read many of them, though admit my tastes run a little lighter the last few years. Sounds like you are buckling up for a whirlwind week!
BECCA - glad the storm didn't get you! My DD's library is "open" to the extent that people can order books for pick-up, but patrons aren't allowed to come inside. And on the days she's actually at work, only 4 staff are allowed in the building at one time. I have plenty of real books of my own for "in-hand reading", but I download my audio books to my i-pad so no need to go into the library itself. I'm not sure if our library is even open.
TINA - your house is really getting into ship-shape! I love having more room in cabinets. Is this summer hotter than usual for you?
JANA - I don't like a lot on my countertops either, but nevertheless, a lot is there - cannisters, paper towels, toaster oven, coffeemaker, mixer, fruit bowl, napkin holder, phone, dog food cannister, treat containers, and the Keurig. We never use the Keurig but Bill insists we have it and keep it handy in case he wants an afternoon cup of coffee next October.

CAROL - variegated threads, because of the dyes, run thick/thin/thick/thin which messes with machines. I love the look of it, but we don't use it anymore here because of the problems it was causing us.
Our orange chicken last night was good. The recipe called for hoisin sauce, which I've never bought, so looked it up and made my own. Bill liked it but he didn't care much for the purchased frozen popcorn chicken I used. So I might try doing my own next time. Might. Or maybe I'll tell him to make the chicken and then I'll do the rest. He might like the store-bought better then!

Hope your supper is a good one!
