grandmothers flower garden

any clues as to how to do the dimensional rose. I seem to be having trouble with the center of it.

I just started this quilt last week. And the dimensional rose is next in line for me. This post is NOT encouraging! lol! But I'll give it a 'go' and see what kind of trouble I get in and report back.
