RESIZING A PATTERN

Post by nybrisbins »

I just received the log cabin quilt book. They have a pattern for a standard size sham with ruffles. Can someone tell me how to convert that pattern to a queen size pillow with a flange.

Thanks

My sympathies...I *hate* converting pattern sizes...I won't offer any mathematical advice, otherwise you will wind up with a pup tent or a Barbie pillow! Should have paid attention in geometry class...lol!

Just a few ideas: add another block or two to size it up or add borders to the blocks you have. You could also add sashings around the blocks to make the piece larger.

I'm not good with math either, so I just generally do the blocks I figure I need, then add borders, strips or whatever, to get it the size I want, has worked everytime for me, & no one knows the difference when you are all done!
