CREAM/OFF WHITE TOILE cotton quilting fabric

I keep seeing Toile fabric on ebay and just wondered if it's alright for quilting. I don't know what it is. Thanks, ~Abbigail~

Abbigail, Toile is the design. Mawmum is right about the description, french. But lately they are coming up with old fashioned looking versions of it with little kids all over it on a playground, zoo, park etc that are cute but lots of diff colors. The regular toile was usually just two colors like red or blue or green or black on a cream background. I don't remember ever seeing cream/off white unless it is a dark cream that shows up the design. Sounds really pretty. Did they have a picture of it?

Personally I think the design would make a very pretty quilt. I have a pattern somewhere that I picked up free at a fabric store that used very large sqs of toile for the quilt pattern. I don't remember where I even picked it up a few years ago.

I kind of thought that but wanted to be sure that it was alright to use in quilting. I think I was worried it was something like the velvet on the old valentines! Thanks everyone, ~Abbigail~
