QIAD! I haven't bought other places, but the prices here are about the best I've seen and the quality is great.
Others can give advise on buying from other sites, I know many people have posted they use other sites, especially for special design fabrics, like animals, toys, themes, etc.
BTW, where in eastern PA are you? I'm also in eastern PA, maybe we're close? carol/kittyquilt

i dont make a lot of on line purchases qiad is the most - then an occasional cant get it locally - as much as i love qiad and the ease of shopping online i try to support the local if possible they have been very good to me i want them to remain

that being said my favorite fabric place is several hours away and one of the local quilt shop owners will a couple times a year rent a van and take a group up there on the day she is closed

this place is in an old grocery store it is about 1/2 the size of lowes and they carry so many different types of fabric

I've bought fabric from The Virgina Quilter, Always Open Quilt Shop, Havasue Quilts, Snowy River Quilt, The Tattered Rabbit, Tennessee Quilts, Kathy Quilts, Original Creattions and Foothill Fabric. I prefer to shop in person, which is easy enough here in Kansas City (easily a dozen shops w/in an hours drive from my house). I shop on line when I'm looking for something I can't find locally -- usually fabric I've run out of!

I have bought from many online shops and find their prices comparable and many times even cheaper that LQS. Just look at the fabric frenzy prices here at QIAD. Usually when I buy on line it is a kit or something in particular that I am looking for and can't get at QIAD or locally. On occasion I will a little disappointed in the quality but not as a rule. I was looking for some Moda Serendipity today at the LQS. It was $9.49 a yard. I found it as little as $5.99 on line. So even with shipping, sometimes I pay less online.
