Good morning,

We are home from camping. It was a good trip until it wasn't. But Bill is well again and life is back to normal. In that extra day I was able to get a week's worth of cross stitch done on my project. So now I'll be able to whip it out in 1 yr, 51 weeks instead of the projected 2 years!

LOIS - I read someplace another person had the exact same problem you did with the neighbor always parking his car in front of his house. So, he got (borrowed? Bought? Stole?) a 22' trailer and parked it in front the neighbor's house! When the neighbor asked him when he planned to move the trailer, he said when that neighbor moved HIS car. That solved the problem. Now, where can we get you a trailer?....

JUDI - I was invited in to see my parents' farmhouse a year or two after we sold it. The house was a hodgepodge of additions my dad added over the decades all around a big central room with no windows. Kind of like a medallion quilt. And kitchen was built to accommodate my 4'10" mom - counters were 3" lower than standard. It was a unique house for sure! It was interesting to see the changes and improvements the new owners made. When we remodeled our house, all we found was an old WA State Road Map, and building math scrawled on the backs of boards.

LYN - We went to Flat Creek Winery near Marble Falls. Nice restaurant, outdoor patio seating available, beautiful view, vineyards, and dog friendly on the patio. They also had a separate covered outdoor venue in case you want to bring 100 of your besties with you. I would definitely go back there. As for "appetizers", that's what we serve here. My DD builds a whole "charcuterie" board for their supper and when they were here I had to learn how to spell it. "charcuterie" is trending. As is the word "trending". I'm not even going to try learning how to spell "horse y doovers"! Glad you have your medical all set up. I like seeing NP's. They seem to be right on top of things. It was an NP that caught the blood clot in my leg last month.

LORI - Is the quilt you are working on made is strips with appliqued circles? Will you alternate those strips or did you put circles on the circle-less strips, too?

CHRISS - are you off to see your best little man again today?

JANA - things are lining up at your house! Dishwashers in, truck behaving, storms by design, fabric arrived, laundry done, and supplies organized. It's time to sew, Baby, sew!

MQ - I know you had to go to your neighbor's funeral yesterday. You were missed here!

We arrived home yesterday about 10:30 am. We parked, unloaded, had some lunch, and Bill fell asleep in the recliner. Later he went to pick up mail and an Rx while I built a fire, started laundry, and fed the boys.

Today Bill is taking the car in for a small repair and I think he's getting a loaner. Also, we need to clean the trailer. We have more camping rezzies at the ocean for 3 nights in March 13th and another 3 night trip up on the Strait of Juan de Fuca in April, so we really don't have to go too crazy with the cleaning. We're not that dirty. Yet. And today is LuLu day! She said it's time to start thinking of spring cleaning - closets, etc. She might just be looking for more hours but that's OK with us!

A few weeks ago I ordered a bolt each of white and cream that was on sale for $5.50/yd. They arrived. Put that with what I bought at the Craft Warehouse in Vancouver and I'm set for any quilt that comes my way! I also ordered a pattern from QIAD for a flag wall hanging. It was on sale a few days ago. And I'm starting to feel a green/white Irish Chair bubbling up inside me. After all - in my real life I'm half McDonough. It's time I made that quilt!

I'm not sure what supper will be yet. I think chicken with dijon sauce, mashed potatoes and roasted brussels sprouts.

Wishing all a great day!

Maryz, the quilt is called "Brave" by Anna Maria. Glad you made it home yesterday and Bill is feeling better. I keep white and cream fabrics on hand too.

I need to start packing up the kitchen. Demo is Monday. I worked on fussy cutting 29 inch HSTs and sewing down some fan blocks for the quilt. I thought I was ready to put it together, but was not. I need to look at some hardware and appliances for the kitchen in the next few days. Don't know what's for dinner just yet.

Have a lovely day.

Good Morning Quilting Sisters!

Happy Middle day of the Week Day! Y'all must still be sleeping!!! Tis a nice sunny day here but still stinkin' cold.

Maryz... I meant to come by after I got home from the funeral, but Sara's Mom stopped by to pick up some of the aprons to sew for the kids school play. I had sewn a few and then got the rest ready for her. Then I went directly to my sewing room to play.... as a day without sewing is just another darn old day! OH please can I borrow Lulu!! She'd be a great motivation for me to get to the high shelves in my closet--untouched since I moved in (4 years ago this weekend!) Glad Bill is feeling much better. Irish CHAIR..... did you mean Irish Chain? I have one of those on my to-do list also and have a little kit already to go! As soon as I finish up the bibs I'm working on, maybe I'll grab that!! You wanna race!?

Lois.... On my weather app on my phone, I can see the weather in different places --looks like you may get more snow today and tomorrow? But looks like it will be warm there so hopefully it won't stick around. Actually it looks like you have a chance of snow almost every day for the next week! But you already know this I'm sure. Hope you get that handicapped permit--is that just a sign to put on your side of the street? Yesterday we had a thin layer of ice on everything and my car was not liking it at all as I drove to the funeral. Ice is way worse than snow if you ask me.

Judi.... Funny to find old paper hidden in walls. Back in 1973, when we got married, we lived in the house my DH grew up in. Way back in the 50's it was popular to board up all the wood stair railings and posts... to have a flat wall going up the stairs. This was a very very old house too, with stones for basement walls. But we decided to rip it all out and re do the all the rails. We found old newspapers stuff in there. Interesting to say the least. I think they were from right around the time when my FIL was killed in a mining accident. I'd love to go back and see the inside of the house I grew up, I've seen pictures and it looks beautiful. The kids are completely redoing my house and so far it's wonderful to see how much better it looks!

Lyn.... Kevin and Jen both went to college in Mankato so yes I made several trips there. And I had an Aunt that lived there until 1972 when she passed. My Folks grew up in Faribault almost directly east of Mankato. I'm sure Jim is familiar with the area. And probably Northfield too, as that is where Jesse James robbed the bank.! I bet Garry has been happy to see them. Are they going to camp there for a while or will the head back up to Minnesota soon? What the heck is going on with your tummy!!!!???? Hope you don't have to wait too long to get it checked out!

Lori.... Did you piece those strips before add the circles? Yikes!!! Are you getting all new appliances too? What fun!!! While the mess of remodeling isn't fun the results are! Still a few things I'd love to do here but I'm waiting until Jen and her DH move home as he is a carpenter--sort of. He is in construction any way and can build stuff. They build beautiful furniture in AK.

Jana.. Sounds like the preemie baby is doing really well if he's in 3mos size already!! Have you been able to see him?

Chriss... How did Elliott do with the pinwheel? What's Dad working on these days?

No real plan for the day here. Sheets are in the wash--one of my least favorite chores!. Will finish up sewing the bibs I cut and then see what other trouble I can get into. Shawn had dropped off a bag of quilt tops I'd made for the Bundles of Love group--they have a big work room in the same building as Shawn's office. So I talked with one of the gals that does the coordinating and told her I'd keep working on tops to use up some of my stash. All it takes is 30 8" squares. Some of the fabric that they get donated is so awful that I just can't make myself use it... so I can use my own. Besides, if I use up all my stash, eventually I can go shopping for some new stuff!

Oh oh... coffee is cold, time for a refill!!
A little shine up in the kitchen, then I'm off to the sewing room!

wishing you all a Wonderful Wednesday

Good NO SNOW here in Myrtle beach. My DD finally had the town plow her street. She lives on a dead end with only her and 1 more home on the block. It took her almost 2 hours to get to work (reading teacher) should have been half of that.

Yesterday I had a ct scan for my bladder-today they will do a scope. Fingers crossed. All I need now is more health problems to add to my DH, sister, nephew, and me with breast cancer. Nick has a appointment with the cancer doctor at 12:30 today. They are ready for the worse news possible-but are you ever prepared?? My scan is set for 12:15 today so I can only say silent prayers at that time. They live less than 4 miles away from me.
Please take a minute today and send a prayer or good thoughts for Nick and my sister Laura. Their life as they know it may soon be unfortunately changed.
