Good morning,

We are getting a blizzard with up to 18" of heavy wet snow I don't know how this is going to play out with Bills dialysis but I'm sure the center will call me and tell me what to do.
Phones are charging I'm not going to panic I have food so we won't starve.
I finished my quilt top yesterday and it came out nice I put it on Facebook on the quilt in a day girls sight.
Today I will see what I can get into.
Well I hope you all have a great day.
Prayers go out to all.

Woke up to an inch or 2 of new snow...just as we knew it was coming,, It is pretty but cold we will be 32 today, We are supposed to go to Rykers hockey game today but Ken hasny said if we are going. it is an hour away and north of here,
Last night Liam's team had the heartbreak of the year. They scored the winning goal in overtime,,,and the ref decided it was not a good goal...( we have video that showed it a good goal) but the ref decision was to continue play and the boys lost their final game together,,,I have a very angry grandson...but what is done is done,, he is retired from hockey as of today,,,He will go on Monday and clean out his locker and return the equipment that belongs to the school...,School still continues but no more practices or games,,,we are sad too.
I will miss the big kid hockey but we stlil have the 10 yr olds to watch and they are getting better each game too....
I have 4 blocks more to hand sew on the Jane quilt...I keep at it...I laid out the graduation quilt and will work on that also...life goes on....hope you all have a great day,,,,
Lois hope you dont get all that snow...we are not getting much but I find they over predict..crazy as it sounds I would love to get snowed in here,,,Some really good memories are from being snowed in....soup on the stove or in the slow cooker fresh bread and a dy to relax... 8-)

Good morning,

LOIS - 18" is a LOT of snow! I hope it all works out with dialysis. I will check out your quilt.

JUDI - I'm so sorry the boys' loss wasn't a square loss. That makes it harder to take. Glad you still have Ryker's games for a little bit. You are cookin' on your applique!

LORI - I wish your friend well. How old is he? My friend, Betsy was too old to have a second one. She lived 9-1/2 yrs with hers. We know another person who had same surgery, same dr, same hospital, and she also lived 9-1/2 yrs. Recovery is long, but Betsy was up winter camping in the mtns in a truck & camper 7 months after her surgery. How are you feeling after your second shot? We are seriously hoping we can make the quilt show. Our Supper Club friends here are wanting to do a wine-tasting trip to OR this summer, so maybe we can combine those Oregon adventures.

TINA B - your quilts sound interesting and kind of fun to make. Is your hubby coming home early? How much longer will you be in VA?

LYN - ahhh.... You have two Carols! Therein lies my confusion. Well, tell them both hi! Whereabouts on Lake Travis do Bob & Carol live? You know where we live when we are there - about 5 sites down the hill from where you were! :D My DSIL from LDH#2 is also an attorney, for kids (ad litem) in NC. That's all she's ever done. I got a strange error on the site yesterday, too, but it quickly went away. Glad to hear Garry eats well. I'm sure they have dietitions who adjust meals to each patient's nutritional and caloric needs. I don't think he'll suffer much for a missed meal now and then if he can't wake up. If you think it's a side effect of a med, maybe they can adjust the time they give that med so he's more awake at meal time. Otherwise, naps are good! Thank you for moving MQ's post!

CHRISS - well, there's your mistake - you went to a F--- Fry!! It had the F-word right in the title! Better to wait for a Spaghetti Feed, or a Pancake Breakfast. How is the airplane factory coming along?

MQ - you have a treasure trove! I'd get that amethyst ring cleaned, appraised, checked, repaired and sized if necessary, and wear it proudly! Especially if it came from your DGF in WWI. It's an antique. And what was in the sewing basket?? I do hope to meet LORI in Sisters in July. Since we have friends close by we can deal without rezzies. But we are on a cancellation list at one RV park and they said cancellations are already starting to come in. It all depends on the hip situation. Bill is pushing me to go have my second hip done ASAP. I'm just not ready yet and I don't know when I will be. I hope it's not July. If you ever decide to go back to Houston Quilt Fest, let me know. Maybe we can time it to be there, too! I've also wanted to go back.

FLO - that's a lot of marinara sauce! But yumm!!! It must be nice to just see all those jars on your shelf! I make it in batches, also, but in my crockpot and much smaller batches. I freeze it in 2-cup increments in Ziplocks. They are great for easy camping/traveling meals, fit nicely in my tiny RV freezer, and I don't have to carry my precious canning jars home with me, rattling around in a rocking trailer.

So on Friday we visited my beautiful BFF - who has significant memory issues - a bit of a shocker since she was fine last time I saw her. Yesterday we visited Bob who didn't look good to us, and he'd just gotten word that his beloved, constant companion, his goldendoodle, Bea, has acute leukemia and probably has 3 months to live. She is only 8 and Bob is devastated. He hadn't even had time yet to tell his DGD who lives with him while going to law school. He really wasn't in the mood for a visit. This dog held him together when he lost Betsy. And their old goldendoodle also died of cancer at 8 yrs old. So we are 0 for 2 for spreading joy this trip.

Today we're going with the kids to a giant craft store in Vancouver, about 30 min away. Lara says they sell fabric, too. I'm excited to go see what they have.

Not sure about supper tonite. We've eaten in restaurants two suppers and one lunch (w/ Bob). So maybe we'll do our own thing tonite. Or maybe we'll go to Safeway and get things to make a charcuterie board ourselves, and I'll add a few veggies/fruits to it. I did get a bit of cross stitch done on my project. That's all I can say for sewing.

Wishing us all a nice Sunday filled with family, good food, fun sewing - whatever floats our boats.

Lois, that's a lot of snow. I sure hope the prediction is wrong.

Judi, take a snow day anyway. It's good to have a relaxing day.

Maryz, my friend just turned 65. He 4 months younger than me and we kid each other about being old. I'm feeling really good after that last shot. I had a great nights sleep. It's hard to see our friends go through things like this. Memory loss is not for the feint of heart. What a shame about Bob's goldendoodle. That will be a hard loss for him. Our furry kids keep us going when things get tough.

We are heading out to the park this morning for our walk. It's like Disneyland for dogs. They love it. I'll work on my applique circles when we get back. We're going to see a Jazz concert this evening. We're leaving at 3 to have dinner first with Bill's daughter.

Have a lovely day whatever you do.

Good morning. It's going to be a beautiful day today. We should see the mid 60's. Had the windows open for a bit yesterday, really hoping today will be the same.

Today is clean the kitchen day. I broiled a steak in the air fryer/toaster oven thing I have and because of the drippings it really needs a cleaning job. I wish there were a way to broil a steak without the mess. After that is done, I am going to play in my room, there are airplanes that need their wings so they can fly.

Tomorrow is Elliott day. I bought a pinwheel at HL on clearance. It is on a wooden stick and meant for the garden. I cut the point off the stick with the chop saw and will take it with me tomorrow. I want to teach him to blow on it so it spins. Also blowing is good practice for birthday candles that will come in September.

Lois, isn't it a good thing to know you won't starve? I saw your quilt on FB, it's really pretty.

Judi, sorry about the bad ref decision. Your grandson will remember this forever and tell his own kids about it one day. Hope you stay home tonight, sounds like an icy drive to the game.

Maryz, sounds like you are having a fun time. That craft store sounds really fun.

Lori, I like Jazz, it's peppy. What's new in your kitchen? did you find appliances you love?

Lyn, thanks for the Valerie update. Hope your friends have a nice visit with you and Garry, it will be fun to remember old times.

Shower, breakfast, kitchen clean up and sewing. In that order. The debate in my head is airplanes or ghost quilt, but I think the airplanes will win, I'll have to see what my brain decides when I get in the sewing room.

Dinner tonight will likely be the leftovers from last night. You all have an amazing day

Good Morning Friends

Showered and dressed.... was going to go get groceries but think I'll postpone until tomorrow since I have to go out tomorrow anyway---getting a hair cut finally. It's either get a hair cut or go buy pony tail binders.

Lois... .Oh gosh 18* of snow!!! You have my sympathy! Been there done that! Hope Bill is still able to get to his dialysis. Is he in a regular schedule, like 3 times a week Mon-Wed-Fri? Maybe they can postpone one day ?

Judi... Oh my goodness, that to be so heart breaking for Liam for his last game!!! Poor kid! I'm sure all his teammates are upset too. I'm sure there were a lot of very upset parents as well!! I agree, it's not always all that bad to be snowed in! Now that I'm retired I don't care! Though I do worry about the kids and grands driving in crappy weather. Also nice to snuggle in with soup and sandwiches!

Maryz.... The old sewing basket held about 20 spools of thread... some good, some the cheap stuff that I probably won't use. I'll throw that in a donation box. Not sure I'll keep the basket, it wasn't really in good shape--wicker and falling apart, legs came off. Sorry to hear Bob isn't doing so well, especially losing his beloved dog, especially so young. I'd love to go to Houston, I'm guessing it's the first weekend of November? Which just happens to be my birthday!!! Maybe if I start saving up $$$ now... I could pull it off.

Lori... Good news that your shot helped your shoulder! When I had Zara last weekend, I so wanted to take her for a walk, even just down the block, but I just couldn't make myself without carrying a box of Puffs all the way. Once it warms up again, I might just go get her and keep her for a few days for no good reason. OR I could just go the kids house and walk her over there.

Lyn... Thank you so much for moving my post !! I must have been on "Friday" and didn't realize it! I open the prior day window sometimes so I can check in with folks that posted after I did. I'll be more careful in the future! Sometimes it IS just the simplest things that confuse me ! Inside outside right side out! Did you do HANSON in stitching? If my embroidery machine was working I'd make you some embroidered tags to put in Garry's clothes!! Are you headed to Colorado soon Or going to wait until the chance of snow in the mountains wanes! Will keep the prayers going for Valerie---and of course you and Garry!

Chriss..... You didn't like the Fish fry? Our American Legion has them every Friday during lent. Every Friday it's a different charity that benefits from the proceeds. I do love a good fish dinner, in fact, probably more than steak. I wonder if I could get somebody to go with me some Friday night! Good Friday is the worst nite--it's packed then. With all the mess in Minnesota lately, I quit FB! I do check for "normal" stuff once in a while, but I avoid all the political crap!
So good to hear you are back in the sewing room. I'll meet you there in a few minutes!

Yesterday I cleaned house top to bottom (well not really as I have only one level) but I did floors, bathrooms, vac'd, dusted, cleaned kitchen! SO today I can sew guilt free! I'd love to start my sister's quilt, but I think I'd rather wait until I get my Janome back from the shop. (I'm going to call and check status on it tomorrow) When Joann was closing I bought up a lot of flannel, and had it stuffed in a dresser drawer. Think I'll haul that all out and cut up some baby bibs and burp clothes, just to keep busy with my Elna while the Janome is in the shop.

And then there's laundry..... so I'm off to refill my coffee and start the "dirties"
Wishing you all a very blessed day!

Good morning!

Home from church. It was a special meeting and Sarah picked the music. But somehow our Ward didn't pay attention to that and chose different music. Sarah was here last night , found out the goof, but we left it alone, because my organist needed time to practice. Well,, the Ward changed back to Sarah's list 30 minutes before we start,, and my organist was fine with the change. We pulled off all the changes and only us kmew the goof.. whew!

Not much here. Snow is all but disappeared. Maybe some next week. So I'm off to make brunch.

Judi - oh my what a heartbreaker! The boys have a memory, just not the right one!

Hugs,
Jana
