Good morning,

I'm a little late this morning. Didn't wake up until 0440, which is sleeping in here. Felt good to get a few extra Zzsss.

JUDI - I told Bill you were maybe going to all those stores just to see what you need. He shook his head and said "women shop so differently from men". Enjoy your shopping and your warmer temps. I hope you find just what you need - and lots of it! Sorry about the arthritis in your hands. It can really mess you up trying to do fine motor stuff. I didn't realize you were left handed. Supposedly only 10% of the population is a leftie. Yet 2 of my siblings are out of the 6 of us. Do you have special scissors? I cringe when I watch Jenny Doan cut fabric. I just know she's going to slice a finger off.

CHRISS - it's fun to find treasures in your own stash! If you don't need them for this project, they might be just what you need three projects down the road. Wow, residing a house is a big deal. For sure I'd get advice and bids. And remember lowest bid isn't always the best one. We learned a lot about how contractors work up their bids back when we were having work done - electrical, roof, painting. One electrician gave us a bid, saying we needed all he put in. But what he put in the bid was what a business would need, not a residence. We didn't know - but we got advice and saved ourselves $5,000. Did you go to Costco? Our Costco is usually just a "strolling" experience. Not too crowded. But Tacoma and Silverdale - wow! They need traffic cops in the aisles. But we have executive membership and can get in 1/2 hour before regular members so sometimes we take advantage of that.

LOIS - Great that Bill's brother was able to give him a ride to dialysis. He lives next door to you, doesn't he? Convenient. I hope you are able to get the shuttle set up soon. How far away from your home is the dialysis center? And how is Raindrops coming along?

JANA - happy birthday to all those littles! Who won't be littles much longer! Did you ever get your smoocher on the littlest little?

MQ - Glad it's warming up for you! A heavy sweatshirt and you're set for playing in your garage! Wearing aprons is kind of a costume inspiration! Go kids! I'd love to see their play. Yes, the Eloquis is doing it's job - and more. I didn't realize until I thought to delve deeper into its side effects last night that one of the side effects is - ta da! Pain!! Extra pain that started just about when I started taking the Eloquis! Every week it's worse. I hope I make it to the end of the course - April 6th. And yes, we'll be camping in the same park as L&L. Can't wait to see them again. There is good internet there and I'm taking my computer so you'll never know I'm gone.

LORI - how is the reno going at your house? Is it affecting any of your other rooms? Like your sewing room?

Where are all our people?

Last night, because Jana made me think of it, we watched Ice Age. I'd ever seen it before and always wanted to. That movie was made in 2002. Time does pass, doesn't it. Yesterday I got my Dresden plates all appliqued. I had to alter two of them, but I made 'em fit, by golly! I'd like to get the blocks put together today but we'll see. I have chiro at 9, and we have appt with our money guy at 11. Bill has dentist at 1:00. And we have to put last things in trailer. We leave at dawn! Not really. I just wanted to say that. We leave about 10~ish tomorrow morning and we're only going about 110 miles south to a park called Brook Hollow in Kelso, WA. Bill is already hitched up. It's been so long since we used our fifth-wheel that he wanted to make sure everything on truck, trailer, and hitch worked and have a few days to fix if it didn't.

So that's all for now - time to go shower and get busy. I'm skipping the Y this morning. Too much other stuff going on. I need my energy.

Good Snowy Morning!!!

Looks like a winter wonderland out my window this morning!! With the warm temps the last week or so, almost all the snow had melted...you could see grass on the lawn and only piles of plowed snow remained. But, here we are back into winter... Alexa says we could about almost 2" of snow by tonight. Am I'm guessing it's going to hang around for a while, because we are back into the cold temps again. That's okay, I bought myself a new winter jacket and this way I'll be able to wear it!

Judi... Sounds like a fun day you have planned. A Judi Day!! You'll have to let us know if you find any treasures at the thrift stores. Good thing you are going today, as I wouldn't be surprised if the snow I'm getting today is headed your way. Did you order a wide backing for your Jane quilt? When I was a HL last week, fabric was 30% off as they do every other week, but I picked up a few wide backs. Most of the time when I see the wide stuff at the warehouse, (or even when Joann had it) the fabric just doesn't seem as nice. Either it's very thin, or very stiff---and the stiffness does not wash out! What I found at HL wasn't bad, it wasn't thin at all and on sale was $9.something a yard.

Maryz....I bet you are excited to get on the road again! It's been quite a while since you've been able to take the RV out and see the USA "in your Chevrolet" . It'll be fun to connect with the kids too. Do they have plans to continue on soon or stay put where they are? Oh man.... Eliquis too is causing the pain!! I know it's a great option for blood thinner, no more constant INR testing with warfarin, but man the side effects sucks when you are already in pain!

Lois.... Hopefully they can get a shuttles set up for Bill soon. Each treatment is about 2 hours right? I know my BFF's DH isn't at the point of dialysis yet and they are really trying hard to avoid it. How is he feeling? Does it make him tired?

Chriss... Vinyl Siding!!! Great Idea!!! Here's a suggestion.... besides getting a couple different estimates, check with your home owners insurance if it will raise the cost of your premium. Because there is more to repair if vinyl siding gets "dinged" some insurance companies might raise the price of coverage. I'm basing this on what we were told when we got vinyl siding back in 1994~  But you will love NEVER having to worry about painting the outside again. And there's so many pretty colors to choose from! My house was light blue, then when I had to replace due to hail damage (long story) I was so tempted to go with a pretty navy blue, but decided on light gray instead. But how exciting! I don't know what's more exciting---new siding or finding fabric!!

Jana.... A long time ago you explained your kids to me, I wrote it down so now I have a cheat sheet to know who belongs to whom! Happy Birthday all around! I'll have to add Enoch to my list, under Aaron and Kate!

Lyn.... Are you there? I'm sure your days are pretty full with taking care of the house and visiting with Garry. I think of you guys often. Has your grandson made the move to your house?

When I get up in the morning, after a trip to the lady's room, first thing I do before I start my day is grab my travel mug of coffee. Then I head to my little sunroom when my desk and computer sit and check e-mail, mostly junk. From there I go right to our little forum. Hard to believe I've been doing this routine or close it, for 19 years! I dug out my Elna sewing machine the other day to use while others are in the shop, and remember so very clearly the day it was delivered to me. It was a gift from strangers around the country, from this very forum, a gift I cherish every time I use it!

Sometimes it's hard to believe I've been a part of this amazing group for 19 years! It makes me a little sad to see so few folks able to participate anymore. But I do totally understand it, how our lives have all changed so much over the years, new babies, new jobs, new medical issues. All things that prevent us from being here on a regular basis. Oh how I would love to meet all of you in person and am so very grateful to have met the ones I have. I've met Maryz, Judi, Cindyg, Sue, Valerie, Lyn. what an amazing phenomenon this forum has been. Just look at the friendships formed early on that are still going today! What a wonderful impact this forum has made on all our lives. I hope you all know how much I appreciate your friendship. You are my "quilt buddies"!!!

For now I do need more coffee and then to get to work. I have 5 more aprons to cut and kit. The other Gramma will sew some and I'll sew some.

If I don't get here tomorrow, don't panic. I need to get up and out relatively early (early for me is 9:30 or so) to pick up friend Peggy. We are going to take my Brother machine to that repair shop, then head out to a huge INDOOR garage sale!! IF the roads are all good, we shall see what the weather looks like in the morning!

Love you All

Good morning!

Up, dressed, out and already back, in a huge snow storm! I was needed to take Karlie to school this morning. School started right at the same time the proverbial they said the snow would start. For once they were right! Glad I'm home for a bit. We have PT in a couple of hours. PT is not far and I know all the back roads to get there. It's about 4 mile each way..

In case you watched the Olympics the other day, one of the girls skiing down a ramp and doing tricks, Kayasha Love was from Herriman! She didn't medal, finished 5th. Fun to see someone from here!

Not much here. Snow day, stay home. I can get in safe trouble here!

Hugs,
Jana

Sunny and warm. I'm still a little stuffy but it's probably Cedar Fever now.

Jana, I hope you like your new fancy thermostat. But I will tell you that my hvac guy warned me not to set it up on auto stuff. Mine is made by Honeywell, but says Resideo on my app on my phone. He told me that if I set up the auto program, it will decide to do something on its own, and it's real hard to change it. So, when I first wake up, I will up the temp on my phone a couple degrees and then wait under the covers and check what the app says.

MaryZ, Enjoy your camping.

MaryQ, It was fun to meet in Houston, wish we could do that again. As for Layne, if he comes down, it will be mid March. Everything is up in the air. Kaylyn is going back to Colorado soon and will work the trail ride job in Estes Park again this summer. She was one of the reasons Layne was coming to Texas. So, I have no idea what is happening right now. I have to go to Colorado in March to get the title to the old Jeep out of the safe, Layne is going to buy it. I have some other stuff I need to do up there too, but it will be a quick trip.

Yesterday was nice and warm, so after lunch I took Garry outside for a bit. He said his hip hurt, so took him back in and they put him in bed. I came home and was trying to get a few things done, but at 4:30 the nurse called. Garry was very agitated and she asked me to come back. So, Minnie and I quickly jumped in the Jeep and headed for the nursing home. He was hurting but wouldn't take the Tylenol the nurse offered. I finally got him to take it, then stayed and fed him dinner. One of the CNA'S, who is super nice, told me Garry tried to kick her and said he was going to call the cops. I told him they were there to help him and he said they weren't helping him get better. I told him no one can help with that. I took him back to his room and left him watching a favorite show. I had Minnie locked in the Jeep and it was running so she didn't get too hot.

I hope he's calmer today. Time to get moving that direction. Hope you have a good day.

Good morning. It's going to be a wonderful day today. The sun is doing it's very best to peek through the clouds, I hope it accomplishes its task.

I didn't go see Elliott yesterday, the weather was just too stormy. Wind and rain all day long. The plan, Monday. Elliott hasn't been napping well during the day. He'd rather just play. So we will be working on that so that he isn't a stinker in the evening.

I'm not sure what today's plan is, I guess I will take it as it comes.

Judi, it sounds like your day will mimic mine. We don't know what we will do until we do it.

Maryz, you are an early bird compared to me. I like to get up around 6am, sometimes it's later but it's hardly ever earlier. I go to bed around 11 and thankfully sleep right through. Enjoy your camping trip.

Lois. I'm really looking forward to seeing your raindrop quilt. Mmmm stuffed peppers. I tried making stuffed poblano peppers and filling them with chicken enchilada fixin's. I wasn't impressed but do love stuffed bell peppers.

Maryq, I still don't own a winter jacket. I did find a nice rain jacket that is lined and goes below my tush. I wouldn't mind the same jacket in a warmer version. Siding will likely be a next year project. I dropped my homeowners insurance a couple of years ago. I own everything, and I have a well and septic tank so I figure if it burns to the ground I will just put in a new mobile home and go from there. My homeowners was through AAA and they wanted 8,000 a year. I also have a morning routine. Hope you find treasures at th sale tomorrow. what fun, I love a good sale.

Jana, our schools took one of the snow days they built into their calendar today. I always laugh because those who live in real snow go to school and would laugh at our few inches.

Lyn, I also hope Garry has a calmer day today. Jerry also wanted to call the cops on me. He thought I was trying to kill him. They decided it was a reaction with his Dilantin and the Morphine. It got pretty scary there for a while. How are you doing? Are you taking some time for you?

Well, I think I need to start my day. Dinner will be spaghetti made with spaghetti squash or perhaps some frozen low carb ravioli that I bought. We will see.

You all have a fantastic day,
Chriss
