Well this will be my day.
I hope you all have a great day.
Prayers go out to all.

Good dark morning from Myrtle beach.

LOIS--I woke at 4 and happy to see someone else was up around that time. I'm working on a qov panel and that is driving me nuts. I thought I had it worked out (in my mind) but that turned out to wide so I tried again and it now --it is to short. LOL Well' I'll have my coffee and later go back to it. I'm sure you will work out your sawtooth problem before I'll get mine figured out.

Its been a quiet time here since all the Christmas items are stored away. But before you know it it will be rolling around again. It seems with age the weeks and months fly by very fast. But as all quilters know--we don't go until we use up ALL of our stash!!

Have a great sunny Sunday
Diane

Good Morning I was up at 6 mulling about what to do today. I will strip the bed, go pick up groceries ordered, and put on a pot of chicken soup. i dont have anything else planned.
I did get 4 blocks of Jane ready to hand applique so I may start them.
Dinner last night was awesome. Food and service was above and beyond. The restuarant is 100
yrs old and family owned, they play old 40s music very quietly and the place is dark wood and lots of art and stained glass. Felt like you were back in time...Food was excellent and perfect. I even tried a french bourdeau wine that I am for sure going to try and buy here at home. It was A+
Well thats it for me. If I have time I will stitch today....we are cold again 30s and a dusting of snow.
Have a wonderful day,,,XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Good morning,

I was up at my usual 3am, but fell asleep in my recliner for another 3 hours. Getting in my daily requirement of sleep hours but in several chunks.

LOIS - I didn't know you were making your SIL a quilt. Is it a QOV? It sounds interesting. What pattern did you find? I made both of my SsIL my own version of QOVs. They were truly touched.

DIANE - you were here early! I hope you found the site moving a little faster. So, your problem with your panel? Did you cut it up to frame sections of it? Or leave it intact? Can you add borders? A row of stars, any size needed, is a nice way to add length. Or even stripes, piano key type bars, or just a nice fabric. I'm trying to envision it.

JANA - I would love to have had help with Christmas like you had! Someone nice and tall. And just this morning I found a "ghost" - a cut glass bowl full of blue and silver glass balls - they we'd moved to the office temporarily so we could have a fire. Rats. I thought yesterday when I packed the last of my Christmas clothing, jammies, etc away I was finally done.

JUDI - Nice to finally have your special dinner out celebrating your special day with your special guy! Once in a while it's nice to eat in a restaurant with tablecloths! You are so nice to help Sophia with the aprons for Other Gramma. She is the one getting a special gift - memories of you teaching her to sew! And how great that she wants to do it all herself. As to the tee shirt quilt, can you put some of the rows together now and just add the last row when you get the last shirt? I have to finish my dinosaur quilt (only about 50" sq) by end of March for Amara's 3rd birthday which is April 7. It's slow going for me. I still tire easily. Shreds - some people spread them in flower beds for mulch. I've never heard how successful that is. I'm so happy you are loving the look of your JA. You've made many beautiful quilts but this one will be the shining star in your collection.

MARY Q - what is purse bingo? Were you in a bingo hall? Catholic church? Or is it a game you just made up to play with Kris? You are getting a lot of small projects "in the can"! Right now the only UFO's I have are two lotto's and two swap sets of blocks. One of these days . . . .

LYN - Is Minnie showing any adverse signs from the scorpion? Maybe she caught and killed it? Brave little dog. How are YOU doing?

Yesterday I finished cutting out one dinosaur and background for a second. My dinos are bright and colorful on a med gray background. I didn't have much choice in background - I used the fabric I had enough of (almost). Eliz Hartman usually calls for more fabric than you actually need so I'm hoping I have enough. I'm cutting very carefully, looking ahead to cut the largest pieces first so I can get the smaller pieces out of the leftovers. I did get the head of the dino sewn. Then I wanted to experiment with making a flan so I did that, too. From a box mix. I think from scratch would be better. We were going out to Mexican dinner with L&L but that plan got bumped to tonite as they are delaying their departure a day or two because of weather. So they brought charcuterie board over for supper and then we had flan.

We celebrated Lara's Feb 3rd birthday early and ate the flan. And we facetimed with Autumn & Co. to celebrate her Jan 10th birthday. Antonio sent videos of Scabooch practicing singing Happy Birthday but he said when it came time, she couldn't take her eyes of the cake and kept saying "Cake, please".

Today - dinosaurs, naps, reading, Mexican for supper. The pain in my leg is improving and I'm getting better sleep, though still broken up. I'm happy to get what I can get. We might go to the Y to walk. Going to try for four laps, maybe some without the walker. That is the only place I use the walker now.

Time for breakfast. Hashbrowns and scrambled eggs. We're out of bacon. We've got a Costco trip in our near future.

Sending good thoughts to you all!

Morning
I've been sick last few days. Friday I got the best phone call. My baby is done and ready to be picked up! But I've been ill and didn't want to expose anyone. Tomorrow I will go into Springfield and pick her up. It was just the timing.
Not sure what today will bring.

Good Morning Girls

The sunshine we had yesterday is all gone today! Typical Minnesota weather! At least we haven't hit the below zero temps yet, tho it IS Minnesota and they will surely come soon!

Lois... You found a pattern? Cool. I was watching a tutorial by MSQ yesterday on the "bear paw" pattern and last night thought " I wonder if that would work for making stars" It was great because you didn't have to make HST's (which I am beginning to hate) I also watched Jenny make "one seam" FG! Now that looked easy---tho I think I still prefer El's way.

Diane... OH I as so happy to hear that I won't "go" until I've used up my stash---that means I'll be around for a really long time!!! Once the weather warms up in the spring I'll definitely be doing some more re-con in my garage and perhaps getting rid of some stuff I KNOW I won't live long enough to use!

Judi.... Your dinner sounds wonderful! Don't love a nice dinner out with good friends (or was it family you went with) So many chain restaurants around, it's nice to go to an old-fashioned family owned place. We had a really good place like that here, but alas the owner sold and moved away (he used to live across the street from me) We'd go there all the time and had our drugstore Christmas parties there every year. Great food!!

Marzy.... SO good to hear that the pain is getting better! That Eliquis must have finally started to kick in. Several bar/restaurants around here do various kind of raffles or bingo. Various charitable originations- (schools, hockey teams, kids programs) kind of run them and use the raffles/bingo as fund raisers. Kris totally forgot about it, so I ended up staying home, which was fine with me--as I got a lot of sewing done! The picture I sent you of the quilt kit Viv gave me, had one more boo-boo, so I've fixed that. I think I might have to have Viv quilt it--not sure I can get it on my sewing machine!

Flo.... sorry to hear you've been sick!!! But getting "baby" back with sure cheer you up! You can get those buttons done!!!

Jana..... I've never had a desire to live in the mountains, but I can imagine waking up to that view every day would be wonderful!! No mountains in MN, tho we have a few big hills!

Chriss.... I would venture a guess, that the only people that are even buying irons these days are over 50 years old!! I think Jen owns one, probably one I bought her, but has no ironing board. Kris has an iron, but doesn't iron--- I will do Shawn's shirts once in a while if necessary. Call me crazy, but I like to iron--must be in my DNA as so did my Mom. I've even thought of "taking in" ironing.

Today is my Jen's birthday, but I'm waiting a little while before I can her---3 hour time difference, I'm sure she is still sleeping. Even tho it was tempting to call her at 5:38am when she woke me up!! In the meantime, I think I'll grab some more coffee and start some laundry (only have 1 clean bra! 🤣 ) and run the vacuum for a little thread pick up! Then you will find me in the sewing room. Holler if you need me!

Wishing you all a great Sunday

Flo, bummer you are sick, but good news the machine is ready.

Maryz, Sounds like a fun time with the kids. So will you be making flan by scratch today?

Judi, sounds like a perfect anniversary dinner.

Diane, I'm going to live a very long time with that analogy.

Maryq, Happy birthday to Jen. Next year she'll be closer to you.

I'm up and the boys have been fed. it's a beautiful clear morning. Will get into the low 70's today. Bill is out to breakfast and them Home Depot. When he gets home we'll go to the park to walk. I worked on the Twisty pattern yesterday and listened to a book. I have the blocks done and need to put them together. Tonight will be steaks and baked(poked) potatoes with a veggie.

Have a lovely day.

A cold, for here, 34° this morning. I just checked on the MH and heating system is running fine, set at 65°.

Flo, Glad you are feeling better. Will you take your featherweight in to get a new belt or did you order one?

Lois, Since you found a sawtooth block, I think we know what you are doing today.

Judi, Your dinner sounds lovely, glad you could finally celebrate.

MaryZ, I do think Minnie bit the Scorpion, but I'm not sure if it was still alive or already dead. Either way, she had a little allergic reaction to it. The Children's Benadryl helped. I only gave that for 2 days. Me, I need to work on a better schedule for life as it is now. Unlike you, I haven't had a good circadian rhythm. I do know, I feel like hibernating in the winter months, even when we were at the coast. And then there's just the stress of it all. I'm OK, but I need to get more done. Judi mentioned stripping the bed. I don't remember when I changed the sheets last.

Chriss, What are you doing?

I thank you all again for your prayers. I know that is what is keeping me going.

Time to get moving and get to the nursing home. Have a blest day.
Lyn

Good morning, is it spring yet? When I look outside the grass is frozen, not going out there just yet.

My ottoman class was interesting. I completed all but putting the feet on the footstool. It was a very long class. Started at 10am and was out of there at 5:30. I'm not overjoyed with the ottoman; I think the problem was that I was trying to sew something foreign to me and hadn't had time to read the pattern directions. Way different than making a quilt block, but I tackled it and probably won't have the need to try it again. The next class in March is Laura Heine, I'm taking it too. I'm outside the comfort zone of sewing straight lines. But I am way too cozy inside of my comfort zone.

Lois, woo hoo for finding the pattern. No stopping you now girl, have a fun sew day.

Diane, you'll figure out that panel, might need to just add a border to make it the size you want.

Judi, sounds like a wonderful meal out. It sounds like a great place.

Maryz, those charcuterie board meals are great. I have them often, although without the board and probably with a lot less stuff on it. I'm with Amara, cake please.

Flo, Judi is making chicken soup, perhaps she will save you a bowl.

Maryq, I love HST's, they can be put into so many different designs. It's why, if I buy precuts, I usually pick layer cakes. I love Salisbury steak, strogonaff, not so much.

Lori, funny, I bought some potatoes the other day. Everytime I see the bag and think how wonderful an unpoked baked potato would be. I have rubbed the potato in olive oil and rolled it in pink salt, yum.

Lyn, what am I doing? I'm talking to you. ;) We have scorpions here but they are about an inch long and they do pinch or sting, but aren't poisonous. So glad Minnie is ok. When we were growing up grandma always made sure we shook out out blankets before going to bed and shook our clothes before putting them on. I've never seen a scorpion anywhere but the bathtub. but bugs can come indoors on your shoe and you wouldn't even know it. I bet your circadian rhythm will improve as your stress levels decrease. There are a lot of uncontrollable things going on for you. There are also a lot of things to do that can't be done yet, so they dangle.

Dinner tonight will be from a fun raiser for the Elks lodge. Chili Verde. I need to get moving as the parents will be here today and this girl needs to do some cleaning up and showering. and breakfast eatring.

You all have a fun day,
Chriss

Lyn, I believe lavender is a natural scorpion deterrent. You can buy it in liquid form and spray it around your threshold and windows.
