Morning
Lori, manual zigzag skipping stitches too. This has been going on since summer, but with expense if new roof then holidays I decided to wait too long. My machine, which I call baby, will be dropped off at an authorized Singer repair store Monday . Joe has chiro, then in afternoon VA. Nothing appointments in Springfield, so we will drop it off between appointments. When I called store, I was told it would take about a week and cost about $100. Cheaper than new machine. For now putting snaps on dress with buttons to give pop and hide snaps. When I get baby back will rethink buttonholes.
Today kids will be here for supper. Chicken enchiladas on menu.
Have a great Saturday

Good morning,
JANA - your nutcracker display is very nice. Almost makes me want to get some for myself!
LORI - I'm so sorry yo'ure having pain/sleeplessness, too. It really sucks! None of the usual OTC things seem to work - No PM's or Benadryls. At least not for me. I hope you get into your doctor soon. I did late yesterday and they ordered, among other things, a steroid pack which I started this morning. Fingers crossed!
JUDI - You are really organized! I just thought - Lee & Lara are leaving in less than two weeks to start their traveling adventures. They go to Drew's house frequently (in Bremerton - 30 miles away) and they can take the tree back to his house. So I guess we will start with the tree, We decorate the living, dining room, and family rooms. I did put a few things in the kitchen garden window - 2 cookie jars, a green poinsettia, and a tiny nativity. And some guest towels in the kitchen. We're going to start on the tree today.
VAL - I've experienced what you described - didn't realize both hips were hurting until I got the pain under control in one hip. I'm doing exercises on the floor, too. Bill is my task master. When he said "floor", I just looked at him! But finally I was able to ooze my way down from my rocking recliner. And I used the hearth to pull myself back up. Those muscle relaxers that you turned down would probably have really helped you - especially at night. I'm taking Tizanadine but I don't feel logey at all, Good on you for the binding! You'll have one to cross off your list in no time!
MARY Q - I think you re right about what might be causing my sciatica - One hip is fixed and the other hip, compensating for so long, doesn't really know what to do now. The first few times I made enchiladas I filled tortillas with canned chili, rolled, and placed them in a pan, I poured red enchilada sauce over the top, then shredded cheddar and sliced black olives and baked them. But you can fill them with chicken, leftover pork, cheese, chli, refried beans, or whatever. Yum!
CHRISS wow! lucky friend! Though I would have double thought it through before standing outside for an hour. Did you see anything that tempts you? And yes, I've tried heat and Ice on my calf and both only makes it hurt worse.
LOIS - yeah, where are you? Gosh I sure hope you caught that nasty flu that's going around
JUDI - you will miss hockey games when Liam graduates. Sophia is dong any sports this year?
I did get in to see the doctor yesterday at 4pm. Or nurse practitioner anyway. She was as thorough as any dr would be. She's ordered ultra sound just to make sure it's not a blood clot (orthopedic surgery patients are prone to them). Few signs of that but she wants to be sure. She's also ordered PT for that leg and a steroid pack that I started this morning, Also, like I was thinking, she's also ordered a consult with my back shot doctor.
IN more interesting news, I finished my Cathedral Windows last night about 2:30 am. Ta Da! I'll post a photo soon, Today I might work on dinosaurs. But the big thing today is - de-decorate the tree and relax in front of the football game and watch our Seahawks trample this week's opponant, Not mentioning any names, but hey! Jana and Val! What are you doing today??
Hugs!

Re: Saturday Jan 3,2026
Good morning Girls
Oh Oh... It's Saturday and you know what that means!!
It's chore day... time to do that nasty chores that I have been ignoring for a couple of weeks! Floors need scrubbing and there are dust bunnies to chase. Not complaining tho, with my tiny house it doesn't take too long. With a little bit of luck I might actually be able turn on the sewing machine today and stitch a little. Laundry is done and sheets are in the washer as we speak!
Flo... If you can get your machine fixed for about $100... that's a pretty good deal!! One local place here, where I bought my embroidery machine charges (last I heard) $189.00 just to LOOK at it!!! Needless to say, I don't take my machine there any more! The place I go now charges $72 and they are super good and fast!!!
Judi... You slept in until 7? Oh man, I was curled up in my warm bed until I couldn't "hold it" any more and got up at 9! If I had gotten up at 7 I'd probably be done washing floors by now!
How fun you can get together with your siblings etc after Christmas--I'm guessing most live close by?
Maryz... You were sewing CW at 2:00am?? I know you don't sleep good, but seriously!! Looking forward to seeing the picture. Now, how do you quilt something like that? Or do you? Glad you were able to get in to see NP yesterday. Hopefully that Pred-Pack with help with whatever is going on in there. I'm thinking I do have a can of enchilada sauce here, but no tortilla shells--will add them to grocery list.
Jana.... Love all the Nutcrackers and Santa's on your shelves! But then I love shelves!!!
Valerie.... Oh yes, the Kam snaps are very easy to use!! If you want, I'll send you the link to the ones I got from Amazon. It comes with the little tool to squeeze them on. The important part to using them is, you have to make sure you use one "female" part and one "male" part! I can't tell you how many times I clamped them on wrong--and they do NOT un-do at all! I use them a lot when I make baby bibs.
Chriss... Sorry I missed your message yesterday. Have you found a jelly roll to use for your ottoman project. Next time I go digging in my boxes of JR's I'll let you know!
Lori... I think some of the best meals are when we "wing it". I did try a new recipe once, many years ago. DH called it "Perkins Delight" because it was so bad we had to go to Perkins for supper! I think I threw that card away. Do you remember the Betty Crocker Recipe Card Library, maybe in the late 70's? I think the only recipe I kept out of the box was the Sugar Cookie recipe!
Lyn..

Well girls, If I'm going to get those floors washed I better hop to it! I'm almost done with my sorting and rearranging project, so after running the vac and pushing a dust cloth around, I'll be ready to sew!
Wishing you all a great Saturday

Maryq, that pretty bad if you throw it away. I've done that before. Dumped dinner in the trash because it was so bad. I got recipe cards from another monthly recipe club. I kept them a long time and then decide I was never going use them and got rid of them. I usually use recipes as a suggestion. Take what I want and wing the rest.
Maryz, sure hope the steroid pack works. Sometimes I think the nurse practitioner is better. They spend more time actually listening to you.
Judi, I put everything away, but then I found a Christmas mug hiding this morning. Happens every year.
Flo, do you need the dress right away or can you wait until the machine is fixed? $100 is a good deal for service. It's $200 and up here.
We got our walk in early since they say it's supposed to rain again today. I'm going to go through my sewing closet today. I want to be more organized this year. We shall see if that happens.
Have a lovely day.

Good morning!
Been to the grocery store already. Drive up, open hatch, they load and I'm off.
Daniel stopped by and won't agree it's his bd. It's just another day, so he says! Silly boy!
Not much here today. My 9'ers will be dining on hawk tonight. I have my jersey ready to wear. My kids are already planning a Superbowl BD party here. Superbowl is just before my bd this year.
That's for looking at my shelf of Nutcrackers, it's been fun to do this year.
Off to get in trouble, I'm really good at that,
Hugs,
Jana

I am here. I went to my BOM meeting this AM. I am not feeling 100% so laying low today. Trying to work on DGS binding. I will catch up with you all tomorrow.
A Friend is God's way of making sure we never walk alone!
