I need to hop on that low carb train, too. It doesn't help that my brothers and sister all sent candy, chocolate covered pretzels and an Apple Spice Cake. And our Edward Jones guy sent a large box of scones and cookies that I put in the freezer. Then the neighbor next door brought me a fourth of a carrot cake she made. Do ya think I can freeze half of the apple spice cake? It came from Harry & David Co.

Lyn, that's a lot of sweets. We too have a lot here as well. I don't eat much, but DH is a sugar fiend. Sounds like you had a nice Christmas with Garry and then the kids. Sounds like Minnie is just out of sorts with the whole thing.

Tina, love all the pictures of you grands. Sounds like you had a wonderful time hanging out playing games and just being together. We got that flu as well. Bill seems to have a harder time kicking it than I did. His cough is just hanging on. Sorry to hear your dad isn't doing as well. Hopefully they can get him on something for the nausea.

Valerie, love the pictures of your grands as well. They look very happy with all those toys. That's awesome that your friend won the appeal. Great job.

Maryq, it's funny all the prep put into just a short event. Kind of like making a really good dinner that takes hours to make and is gone in 15 minutes. The preparations are the journey to the fun. I'm definitely not a after Christmas shopper. I'm going to put things away. What did you decide?

Chriss, the rain has come south. Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day. Moose will be much happier after a bath even though he probably hates it. Dogs are funny that way.

Maryz, sounds like you had a full day yesterday and were worn out. Glad you got to face time with Miss Boots. I bet she is just talking up a storm. For 2 1/2 weeks post surgery your doing really great. Already back to sewing.

Judi, all the food you have sounds amazing. Those lobster rolls sounds pretty yummy. Sounds like a good time had by all.

I'll be putting things away today. I'm tired of the Christmas stuff and ready for normal. It's been raining pretty good here so we were not able to walk. Hoping for a break in the weather so we can get in a little walk at some point in the day. Yesterday was quiet here. I did a little reading and worked on my calendar and goals for the coming year. I need a little more focus to get things done. It was sure great to see so many post yesterday. Glad to know they are still around. Well I best get busy if I'm going to get anything done today. We had tamales and Spanish rice for dinner last night. I'm thinking tacos tonight.

Have a lovely day.

Good evening,
It was very rainy today. Dinner for the Second Day of Christmas was just as delightful as the First Day of Christmas. It was even better because most of it was just needing to be reheated. I did make a Waldorf salad to go with ham and scalloped potatoes.

We rested today. After a nap this afternoon I felt much better.
