Good morning,

JANA - good news about the angiogram being this morning. Just get it over with, is always my plan of attack with unpleasant things. I will be in the dentist's chair at the same time, attacking a little cavity. I will be thinking of your Michael and praying for a good outcome. Your tote running plan is smart and I think a good one if they will ride on the seat OK. I bet your kids will be pleased!

CHRISS - don't overdo! Glad your dad is showing improvement. Does he still have a dressing on his leg requiring Home Health? Is Marilyn still with her boyfriend? I will be in the hospital only one night. Usually hip replacement patients go home day of surgery, walking out of hospital with a walker, but my surgery is set for late in the day, so they said they said they will most likely keep me overnight. I will have a PT session the next morning an then they will set me free. I was thinking of a phone charger but didn't give thought to a long one, Thanks!

VAL - I cut my binding at 2-1/2". But I'm going to give your binding method a try on an orphan block one of these days. You may need to remind me and I would appreciate that. I probably won't be sewing much until after I am able to climb a full staircase. And sit at the machine. I think we all did a UFO count here one or two years ago. Usually I'm on top of them better than I have been this past year.

JUDI - Is all the decorating done yet? Ryker is already 9? Don't 9 yr olds love Legos? I know my DSIL, Lee, loved Legos clear into his early teens. (I've known Lee since he was 9).

Yesterday I got all my unpainted Nativity figures out - two full sets, one large (9" tall) and one smaller (5" tall), plus a few stray extra figures that go with the larger set. I got my paints, brushes, etc all ready to go. But I probably won't get to them today. The funny thing about the large set (which is a duplicate of my original set) - in ceramics when you clean your greenware before firing, many folks carve their initials in the bottom of the piece. Someone has already carved my initials, MZ in every piece!

Today will be busy. I have a T-spine MRI at 0715 this morning, my dental filling at 1000, and my dental cleaning at 1:00. In between the dental appts I'll swing back into Michael's for a couple of things I forgot. I'm not sure what supper will be tonite. Maybe Polenta slices baked with a little marinara sauce and cheese with roasted broccoli & cauliflower. And a salad on the side.

I'm off to shower! Extra prayers for Garry and Michael today.

Good morning Girls

Darn... had a post started and lost it! Guess I'll have to start over!

The Carpenters are here!!! The got here about 7:30!! Man it's still dark here at 7:30!!! Are you people crazy!??? The old counter tops are off and they are working getting the new ones on. I peeked in the kitchen and saw one piece of the new stuff... It's so pretty! Other than that, I'm trying to stay out of the way. The coffee pot is set up in the bathroom so I can get it for my refills all day. After while I'll go hide in the sewing room!

Maryz... Many many years ago I had a friend with her own kiln. She taught me how to clean ceramic things, paint and fire them! It was kind of fun. I'm a lousy painter so my pieces were not all that great, but I did enjoy the cleaning part. I bet your Nativity Set will be so pretty. I think there's a ceramic shop around here somewhere, but I sure don't need another hobby! Hope all goes with the MRI and dental work today.

Judi... How cool for Ryker to get an 8 point buck!!! He must be over the moon!! I just can't believe he in 9 years old already!! How nice to hear from Denice, glad she is doing well. I had talked to her not too long after her husband died and she was so very sad.

Lois.... Did you find something in all your magazines to inspire your next project? I've been watching some tutorials on Youtube for ideas to use up layer cakes I have. Might have to postpone at least until after I get all the craft fair stuff done.

Jana.... Send prayers for Michael this morning that all goes well at the cath lab.

Chriss...I'm guessing you're probably right---swelling would go down with feet elevated, but I'm guessing your Dad isn't a "sit still" kind of guy, especially being full time caregiver for Judy. Would there be a place that Judy could visit--even as respite for your Dad?

Flo.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY... I saw the picture of your new puppy... she is a cutie!!

Yesterday I finished quilting a small little quilt that made using some left over 10" squares and I KNOW I had the binding strips all made and ready to go, but do you think I could find them??? I need to have another discussion with St. Anthony to help me find them---or I'll have to start over, in which case, as soon as I make a 2nd set I'll find the first one!

Think I'll grab some more coffee and go hide in the sewing room.

Wishing you all a terrific Tuesday!!

Good morning ladies and happy tuesday.

Mad Monday yesterday. I got six blocks of a twelve block quilt done. The pattern is called Maze and I got it from a friend of mine at the shop. She made two of them and it looked very simple, so I decided I would try it. It is very simple.

Tony's Amazon order finally got delivered yesterday, so he was happy about that. I haven't been privy to much more information. I'm hoping the church ladies are bringing him food.

Maryz when you're ready to try that binding, just let me know, and I'll text the information to you. Sounds like you have a quite busy day. Hope you get some sew time in.

Maryq i hope we get to see pictures of your kitchen when it's all done. It sounds marvelous. Good idea, though, staying out of the way. That's what I did when my kitchen was being remodeled.

Judi, that is quite a buck for such a little guy. I'll bet he's still in seventh heaven.

Chriss i am with Maryz, a bit worried about you overdoing it. It might be best for everyone if you found a place, like Mary said, to visit for a while. I am sure you feel much better after your surgery, but there may still be healing going on inside. I cannot tell you how many times I have run across this situation. One spouse has dementia and then the other one gets sick. My dad actually had his heart attack while he was trying to care for my mother.

So happy to have heard from Denise. Years ago, she made me an angel Sun Bonnet Sue. It hung above my desk for the longest time. When I quit that job, I put it away. I should find it and make a little wall hanging out of it. That was when my sister was sick.

Sending prayers this morning for Garry and Michael. Maryz too. Hope all their health problems show improvement.

Well, I best get to getting. I just spent a bunch of time making my lunch to take to the quilt shop today. I haven't had breakfast or anything else yet. So I must go.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
A Friend is God's way of making sure we never walk alone!

I am back from appt #1 - the MRI. It wasn't bad at all. A washcloth over my eyes, plus I kept them closed. I chose to listen to Christmas music, though it was from a radio station so lots of commercials. That was OK. Something - anything to listen to is better than listening to the machine. Next appt in an hour - the dentist. Glad everything is only 7 min away.

MQ - yay for new kitchen! HINT - old countertops make terrific work benches in garages, etc. And they can be permanent or temporary, propped on totes or sawhorses as you work on stuff, sort fabric, etc. I still have mine from when I remodeled my kitchen after Roy died, but before I met Bill. I think that's 36 years.

FLO - happy birthday!!! And what a great present you got - a dog! Sorry they had a bit of a set-to, but you probably knew that would happen at some point. Maybe several times. But they'll work it out.

LOIS - you have as many appts as I do, it seems. Looking for your next project? How about starting wedding quilts for if/when your grands marry? No need to quilt them until later. It's on my idea list. Also, I want to do Norwegian sweater quilt patterns for my girls. I saw a quilt in a magazine once where the quilter made a 3-1/2" block every day and in that block she put (pieced, appliqued, embroidered, whatever) something about that day or about her life. It was quite impressive. I've considered something like that, too, but . . . . every day???

JANA - how's it going with Mr. G? Where is his test being done? Will you be there with him? Those pesky vows - "whither thou goest" and "in sickness and in health" are starting to come back and bite my Bill in the hiney. He's spending quite a bit of time behind the steering wheel and in waiting rooms this year. Praying for best of outcomes for your sweetie.

VAL - thanks for info. Maybe I'll try your binding this weekend after TG. Next week is full of appts again, so my time to play is running short.

Well, it's time to go get ready for the dentist - brush (again), floss, waterpik. He looks like a baby dentist so I hope he knows what he's doing! My cavity is in my upper wisdom tooth.

bye again!

Jana, glad the procedure got moved up. One less thing to worry about. The angel was delivered yesterday.

Maryz, you have a busy day. Glad things are getting done and you'll be walk better soon.

Chriss, good to hear your dad is doing better. Like everyone else said, don't over do it. It's like having 10 mothers hahaha.

Lyn, how are you doing? I know things are hectic, but take a moment for yourself once in a while. How Gary doing?

Maryq, I have the urge to sew today, which hasn't been the case, but I have a class. So it will have to wait. Sew something for me.

Flo, hope you are enjoying a wonderful day. Happy Birthday.

Judi, nice that you get to chat with Denise. I see her post in the photo section once in a while.

I need to run. I'm taking a barn quilt painting class. I'm doing a smaller one that's only 2x2. If I like it there may be more in my future. Like I need another hobby.

Have a lovely day.

Good morning. Like yesterday it will be foggy here.

There is a mountain called Guadalupe Mountain that is across the street but still quite a distance from me. When it snows in Mariposa the mountain gets some. And the mountain also keeps the fog from going to Mariposa (uphill) because the fog rolls in and is trapped by the mountain. I love the way the bare oak trees have a backdrop of fog. Kind of eerie looking and beautiful at the same time. I love where I live.

Yesterday was a lot of sitting between chores. I have more housework to do today; it will get done. And I got dad's appointments made. Today I will make a meatloaf, and dad will see if he wants some today or tomorrow. Sort of depends on how many leftovers he has.

Flo, happiest of birthday's to you.

Jana, praying that today's test shows everything you need it to show so that everyone knows how to proceed. So glad you got an earlier appointment.

Maryz, Prayers said that your appointments all go well and that you are quickly and easily fixed. Jerry used to make polenta and put it in a loaf pan in the fridge. He'd fry slices and put syrup and butter on it. Dad has HH for changing his dressing and they talked about giving him PT, although I am not sure why. I told him if he needed the dressing changed I know how to do it and I heard Judy in the background saying that perhaps a nurse would know better. God bless her. I now have an official go to thw hospital phone charging cable and the plug to plug into the wall. I told them at WM that I wanted cheap and a long cord. I keep it in the car.

Judi, I'm not a fan of venison either. But a big high five to Ryker, that's quite a trophy, have his feet touched the ground yet?

Lois, is the PT helping? How long will DH be gone hunting? Hope he gets his deer.

Maryq, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy. It's Maryq day. I'm doing the happy dance with you. Gosh, you are going to so excited to have a new kitchen you won't want to use it and get it dirty, ask me how I know. That binding will turn up, it probably got moved when you were getting the kitchen ready. Dad won't do the respite care thing, and you are right, he isn't a sit down kind of a guy. He will go out into his garage to escape.

Valerie, you were on fire girl. Half of the quilt blocks done. I think I've seen the maze quilt, does it look 3D? I really am taking things easy. It takes me a long time to do anything and I am not doing any heavy lifting. I even put my garbage each day in a small grocery store plastic bag and take it to the outside cans daily. I also have Slim who I can call when I buy big things like dog food and water. And I do sit in my recliner a lot.

Lori, mom, I'm really wanting to see your barn quilt painting. Is it on canvass or are you putting it on something else like a tile? I really am behaving and spreading things out over days. Even though I feel great I still feel a twinge that reminds me to chill out once in a while. And dad's stuff is pretty much just driving back and forth and phone calls and meals.

Lyn, how are things with you? You and Garry are on my mind often.

This morning I had a blood draw so now I am able to eat, which is what I am about to do. After brunch I will make a meatloaf while it's cooking I will finish up the bathrooms. The bathrooms are pretty much just dusty and don't require a lot of work. After that the next room needing my attention is the kitchen.

Dinner tonight will be a wonderful meatloaf sandwich. You all have a marvy day

Good afternoon!

Sarah and Mr G left about 4 hours ago, to get to the cath lab at the hospital in SLC. Got there and all signed in about 90 minutes later. On time. Now we wait, and wait and wait. Still not in for our turn. Mr G blood sugar seems to be holding steady and so far OK. He's been with no food or water for close to 15 hours. Sarah is keeping a eye on his number. If necessary, they give him a IV to keep up the blood sugar. So I know nothing more. Procedure is about 2 plus hours. I am home as the walk in is way too far for me and poor Sarah needed to handle Mr G. She's great at texting me updates all the time. A previous patient in the cath lab had complications and delayed the whole schedule. Sure hope that's the only hiccup for them today!

So we wait....

Jana

Finally back,in the procedure. About two hours, then we'll know. Doesn't look like a stent will help, but we'll see...
