I had to look at the calendar to see if it was Saturday or Sunday. Guess I've got this retirement thing down pat!
TINA B - you are such an upper to wake up to! You are a cheerleader! It does sound like things are looking up for some of us. But we still need all those prayers! Your getaway sounds like it's going to be relaxing fun!
FLO - glad your new pup is settling in. I'm guessing she has found a very happy forever home! So nice that she has a safe back yard, too, with room to roam a bit.
DIANE - such good new! I was kind of holding my breath for Joe, but now I can breathe again. Good news on you both! How are your arms/shoulders? You were having trouble lifting them high, weren't you, and then you got some PT . . .
JANA - Happy for Mr. G! Always best to get unpleasant things over with ASAP, I say. Praying his angiogram goes well. I've got him on my mental calendar. (because my kitchen calendar is so full already!). I hope those labs put a rush on your new teeth so you can have them by Christmas which is only 33 days away, in case anyone is counting. Are you still working on your JA? How far along are you? I see Judi is finally taking a peek at hers.
LORI - you are right about Alz patients and their false memories. My DSIL did the same thing. Which shoulder is angry? Your dominant one? Have you done much handwork lately before your mitten project? I know when I haven't done any embroidery or cross-stitch for a while, and pick it up again, my shoulder likes to 'tap me on the shoulder' and say, "hey! What are you doing to me?? I was resting!" And you are probably right - I won't be doing a lot during my immediate recovery period. But since I don't really know what to expect I want to be prepared. I've been told no stairs for a week, so I'll be confined to the lower level of our house - garage, fam room, bed & bath. I'm going to set up a "nest" around my recliner with some books and a couple different projects, in case I get bored. I should probably take Bill on a tour of my sewing room so if I send him upstairs for something, I stand a better chance of him finding it.
MQ - you've been a busy little sewer! Or do you prefer 'sewist'? It looks better in print. Anything you have left over after the show, if it would make an appropriate gift for nursing home residents, you might think about donating them there. They are so grateful for anything for their residents as many of them are forgotten at Christmas. And no, this hip surgery is usually in and out in one day, and you walk out of the hospital with a walker. However, since mine is scheduled for later in the day - I won't even by out of recovery until about 5pm - they told me I would probably get to spend the night, for which I'm grateful. Though Foxy won't be liking that! It means he'll have to snuggle up with his father instead of me, his preferred parent.
CHRISS - You are a angel to your parents! And your step brothers (2 of them?) should be grateful you are there! But also aware you are still in recovery phase of a pretty big deal yourself. Do they work? Retired? I believe you once said they live a couple of hours away. Would be awesome if they would take turns coming and staying with the parents until your dad is completely well - and then at least once a week for a day to give your dad a respite. I will send you the soup recipe. But it's kind of loosey goosey - simple to make and you put in a lot or a few veggies any you like! And it freezes well.
LYN - I'm so glad you are settled in "our" park. It's really the only RV park or campground in the area. Lord knows we've looked! It's 25 miles to Autumn's house. We know that site in C Loop they wanted to put you in. Bill said, "Oh no! That won't work!" Glad you got B44. My sister was in B43 right behind you when she fell and shattered her knee 4 yrs ago. We try to keep the middle of the B section. For Foxy's sake. He likes to roam but only goes 2, maybe 3 rigs away from ours. This keeps him away from the dog park and the more busy park roads. I hope they get on the insurance requests ASAP. And praying for you as much as for Garry. We know you are busy, busy, busy, and we appreciate your updates.
JUDI - I've never been to - or even seen - a Hungarian restaurant. I should learn more about Hungarian foods - my great grandmother came from Behemia, which is in the same region. What did you have? You and Jana are starting to talk me into taking down my fall/TG decorations but I really don't have much out to replace them and I hate to ask Bill to haul out those Christmas totes - again. But for now, everything is on hold until we finish our scrapbook for Ms Boots which should happen late today or tomorrow at the latest. Then I'll think more about Christmas decorations.
So yesterday - I got my binding made for my KTVC quilt. Bill has two passes made quilting it but put it on hold until the scrapbook is done - this weekend. So we worked on the book, then friends arrived about noon. They stayed for lunch, visited, and checked out the small electric fireplace that Bill installed in our trailer. We have the exact same RV and they want one installed in theirs. They will bring their trailer to our house Dec 1, park it in front of our shop, and Bill & Marc will work on this project together. It will take a few days. They didn't leave until 2:30. We went back to our scrapbook but didn't get a lot more done. Today's project - more book. If we push, we can finish it today. The 50% off sale ends tomorrow, so we have incentive to keep at it.
We still have a little bit of that soup left. I could freeze it but Bill wants me to cook some Italian sausage, slice it up and add it to the soup. So that, plus a salad, will be tonite's supper. And tomorrow will be new food TBA.
Hugs and prayers around!
