Morning
Today we have a bunch of things to dog proof. Tomorrow Joe goes to pick up a 4 yr old female basset hound that needs re-homing. Dog is already spayed. I don't do puppy litters. Her name will be Hale Mary, to go with Sweet Jesus. Will post pics on Facebook Friday.

Good morning It is sunny and 38 I am dressed need to tidy up the sewing room and my bedroom as Gloria is coming over to have me cut the borders on her quilt. She doesnt own a rotary cutter or a mat. and we know it is much easier and accurate to cut that way. I might I say might (Maryz it is all your fault) Open the JA box and see what the fabrics look like. If they are not labeled I might start doing that and get the blocks kitted up on the small design boards ready to start sewing after the holidays,,,. It looks like the videos are on youtube to follow the construction of this quilt... so I will watch them to refresh myself with Lori Holt methods...this will be an after the holidays project... Another challenging quilt to do.
I have quilt guild tonight so we eat from the freezer. Each of us heats frozen soup up and or meals and that is supper...Ken likes that and so do i. It is a break since I cook a big supper almost every night,
Gloria will be here around 1030 to go to brunch before sewing....another busy day,,,this weekend I plan on putting my village up on the mantle...it has been a couple of years and I miss it...This is the year of decorating every nook and cranny...
Hope you all have a great day,,,,XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good morning,
LOIS - I hope your hubby's dr appt is a good one. You had a restless night and I, for once, slept well! I would still be sleeping except for Dog Boy, who was whining for his breakfast. So I was up at 4:30, which is sleeping in for me the past few weeks. For the record, Scott gets his breakfast at 0500 but he likes to get a head start on the fussing.
FLO - A new, second dog! Wonderful! I bet they will be great friends. And love the name - Mary! We don't care for dark meat either so I have 3 turkey breasts in my freezer. I often cook it in the crockpot with onion, celery, garlic and seasonings, but I think Bill wants to put it in a cooking bag in the oven. I don't know what you mean when you said you "bought cooking twice to make a meat log".
JUDI - You're welcome! If I encouraged you to 'take a peek' at your JA project, then yay for me! I'm here to help.
Hooray for the windows being done! Inside AND outside? Glad your Ken has something that he loves - Geezer time at the Rink. Sorry you lost your pattern. I checked all through my patterns just in case you loaned it to me, even though I knew I'd never made that quilt ( it's a pretty one!). Hoping your sister has it but I'm happy to know JANA has it. Do you know how you are arranging your tee shirt blocks? Since you are project-free at the moment, can you start putting the other blocks together and just add the last row when you get the final shirt? How is Jeff's father doing? Seems it was at holiday time last year that he was so sick?
JANA - Oh dear! I read your first post and cheered for Mr. G. Then I read the second one. It seems to never end for him. Saying a prayer for him that the stent will help. How is Matt's hand? I hope it wasn't anything too serious or painful. Happy Birthday to Tanner! Does he have to take any kind of test to get his permit? In WA, you have to be 15-1/2 to get a permit (after passing a written test) and always have a 5-year licensed driver with you.
LYN - I was thinking you need to borrow JANA's Calgon but after reading both of your posts, maybe we just better get you your own! I wish I could take something off your plate. If we were in TX this year, you could at least come by our trailer for a hug and a slug (of whiskey - for medicinal purposes only, you understand.
) Saying some prayers for you. Glad your Jeep guy was able to relieve some of the stress about the Jeep. I pray Garry continues to show improvement.
LORI - I'm so glad Jack is showing some improvement. Do you think it's the laser treatments doing it? My chiro has lasers. On Jack's recommendation I will be getting 3 pre-op laser treatment at surgery site, and also post-op as soon as I'm able to hobble in. That project you are working on is adorable! We've had a lot of rain, too. But yesterday and today dried us out a bit before the next round hits us - the northern edge of a big atmospheric river headed your way if our weather person is correct.
CHRISS - where are you? Hope all is OK with you and with Dad. You know how I worry.
VAL - are you all settled back into your home rut yet? Unpacked, laundry done, going to your classes? Have you heard anything from Tony?
Yesterday was very productive here. We got our pictures all off the phones, onto the computer, sorted into folders and now we can start building our scrapbook for Amara for Christmas. We use Shutterfly and they have a sale on until Sunday. It will probably take us 3 days once we sit down and do it. It will be of her visit here. We've sent her short videos of her tracker rides with Pop and word is she loves watching them. I got my tablerunner together and 2/3 quilted. I plan to finish it today but it might become a wall hanging instead. I'm putting a hanging sleeve on it so it can "swing both ways". Bill has my KTVC on the LA but a dry day calls for outside work first. He and Lee split/stacked wood yesterday until the splitter ran out of gas. They took that as an omen to quit for the day. Then Lee blew leaves off the shop roof and cleaned the gutters. Bless him!!! But "gutter juice" sprayed all over his RV, so now he has to wash it! Bill got his ultra sound results yesterday on My Chart. Even I, an old RN, can't decipher them! I didn't see the word malignant in there anywhere so I'm guessing all was OK. Dr will call if it wasn't. I'm still waiting to hear from my dr on a surgery date. I think I'll give them a call today. Leftover chicken pot pie and saute'd spinach (with garlic and parm and a few drops of basalmic vinegar) will be our supper tonite.
LuLu comes today! Hooray!!
Saying a few all-inclusive prayers for our little group today. So many of us need them!

Re: Wednesday November 19 ,2025
We are going to get rain today and tomorrow, much needed.
Yesterday the Jeep did a repeat on the way to the hospital. Got it in to dealership and they got updates and whatever done and I picked it up at 6.
Insurance wanted a peer to peer phone call and said if they didn't talk to Garry's Dr by 4:30 yesterday, the rehab hospital prior authorization would be denied. Dr tried 4 times to call them, one of those she waited 20 minutes on hold and then it went to, leave a message.
I already have the appeals phone number, but this morning it says it's still pending.
Garry's not doing well. They did another CT scan and MRI yesterday. I hope the Neurologist comes in today when I'm there.
Time to get moving.
Lyn

I keep forgetting to up date the prayer list...Colleen FIL is doing ok for the moment, They have him on steroids and he is "high" and feels good. But the steroids are only temporary and will taper off. We dont know if he will continue to feel good or if the immflamation in his brain will come back and make him bad again, The lung cancer seems to be Not growing...so that is good. xxxooo

Good Morning Friends
Not much in the way of sunshine here this morning. We are now definitely in the "ugly" faze of weather here--no pretty leaves, no sunshine and no snow! Ten day forecast on my weather app shows no snow in the forecast at all.
Lois....How is the PT going? How many more sessions do you have to do? Sounds like you will be spending your day in the car.... I vote for whatever dinner that can be delivered!
Flo.... Another dog? How fun! I had to google to see what a Bassett Hound really looks like. I don't think I've seen to many around here. Lots of labs, lots of little yippy dogs, and a few poodles. Love the floppy ears!
Judi... I bet your house is going to look like pictures in a magazine after you get it all decorated for Christmas! I remember pictures of all the snowmen from a couple years ago! I LOVE to decorate for Christmas, but I'm not a huge fan of getting it all put away. Heck, I don't even know what's all up in the rafters anymore. Might be a couple weeks before Shawn can come over and get everything down for me---when he's ready to get their stuff down too!
Maryz....Aren't the Shuttefly books fun! I have a book of all of Brennen's graduation pictures in a Shutterfly book, tho they didn't do one for Evie. Amara will love it! Good news from Bill's latest MRI? Sure wish they would spell those things out in layman English instead of all the medical words!
Lyn... OH man, I so hope they get the PA done for Garry!!! Isn't insurance crazy! This is the kind of stuff I wish they would look into when they are trying to figure out the health care/insurance issues in the country.. Like I said, don't get me started! Hopefully they will get that phone call in today. Sorry to hear Garry isn't doing well this morning. Is he ready to be discharged yet anyway? You know I send many prayers for him and you all during my day!
Jana... Oh so sorry to hear the Mr. G has some new issues to deal with! And no teeth for Thanksgiving? Will you be able to have them before Christmas. I didn't realize getting implants was such a long procedure. Though my DB Greg had some done while they were in Texas--as he could go across the border and pay 1/3 of the US price---- from an US educated dentist! Will include you and G in prayers today as well.
Chriss... Are you hiding? Somedays it's hard to get here isn't it. I peeked in yesterday and then looked up to see "squirrels" running through my house. Even now, they are here, but I'm ignoring them.
Lori... Did I see Jack is doing better? I did find somethings at HL... found cute fabric to make curtains for my kitchen window and some lights to hang out on my patio fence. I mean, how can you go to HL and NOT find something. I didn't really NEED anything, but was just keeping my eyes open for curtain fabric thinking something would hit me! It did!
Spent the whole day in the house yesterday chasing the squirrels. Did manage to finish quilting the small quilt I had started on Monday, got the binding sewn on and will finish sewing down tonight watching TV. Made the kitchen curtains, except for the bottom hem, as I can't figure out quite how long to make until I can put the rod up and see where they land. Put squares together from fabric that KC had given me for a small little quilt and might play with borders on it today, it's only about 45" x 50" so it can use some borders and still be small enough for me to quilt myself. Good news.... my counter tops are coming on Tuesday!! Monday the plumbers will come to take out old sink... then on Wednesday morning they will come and put in new sink and hook up dishwasher!! I'm a pretty happy girl!!! Yup, it's good to be me!! Have decided to stay home for Thanksgiving--not go to Wisconsin. Might join Kevin and Sara at Sara's brothers house--if I'm so moved---other than that... I might just hang out with the neighbors.!
Time for more coffee and then a little clean up in the kitchen. I'm not too worried about the messes for now, but over the weekend I'll get everything set up for the countertops!
Wishing you all the most Wonderful Wednesday!!

Re: Wednesday November 19 ,2025
Good morning.
It's been a busy few days. Dad had a lump on his shin, it burst and gunk oozed out. I took him to the ER and they drained it and are keeping him until they get the results of the culture. They are filling him with antibiotics. The leg, from about the knee down is easily double the size of the other leg. I think, but will confirm, that the reason his blood pressure raised so high was prompted by the shin gunk. But I'm no doctor.
I had to spend the night with stepmom. It was a very frustrating and exhausting day. Her son came last night and will be able to stay until Friday. Judy doesn't remember that dad is in the hospital or why he is there. She doesn't even remember to eat unless a meal is put in front of her. She wears the same clothes every day unless you point out a stain, then she will change them, and she no longer bathes. I suggest things and she snaps at me. If she were my parent, I could tell her what needs doing, but she's defiant. My focus is on my dad and I will make sure she is safe, but I'm not going to be in the line of her fire, she has kids for that. I'm glad her son is here to see how life really is.
I've explained things over and over to Judy, but she thinks I am there to boss everyone around. Finally I made a list of the things we needed to do before going to see dad yesterday, I just kept handing her the list when she asked.
Thanks for letting me get that off of my chest. Sorry that I have no clue what is going on with all of you, I will catch up.
I need to shower and get into town. You all have a fab day,
Chriss

Good morning!
Cloudy and gray here too. And the rain is staying just south of me. Many of the ski resorts are getting ready to open for the season on Friday. Cold up there and they have been making snow for their base. Tops of the mountains are covered too.
I was going with Sarah to the Cookie Factory across the valley from me. But Mr G doesn't want me to leave him alone, until we get this latest issue under control. So I'm here for the time being. Hopefully the Dr will call soon.
Ethan has his honor orchestra practice and performance tonight. It's at a nearby middle school.
Tanner didn't pass the written test for his permit. It was the age old adage that "I know the answers, and don't need to study the driver's hand book". We all suggested that he study, but we don't know anything. So hopefully he's learned a small lesson and that we may know something more than he does.
Matt's hand surgery went well. It was a simple procedure to cut and release the sheath around a tendon near his thumb that was being irritated. A in the Dr office procedure.
With all the holidays, it's anyone's guess when I get to the finish line with my implants. So n9, turkey dinner for me. Maybe some potatoes and gravy, maybe stuffing, cranberry sauce, the smooth jellied type, but that's about it. I refuse to put my turkey in a blender! There's a limit!
Christmas is a total toss up too. A matter of when the lab gets the final implants made and to the dds. And when that office is open during the holidays. I'm at the point of thinking it will be my birthday in February before this is done!
Time to get going, my signal engineering lesson is about over. You see, he's been telling me all about how to design a signal system, how the trains ran on the Bay Bridge, all while I have been visiting with y'all! I know just when to add a a-hun, or yes, etc. Need to get dressed and fix breakfast.
Hugs and prayers,
Jana

Re: Wednesday November 19 ,2025
Jana, I'm hoping they get you in and taken care of before Christmas. Bummer Mr. G didn't pass his test. Hopefully nothing to serious. Teenagers are so funny. They just think they know everything until they don't. Hope this is a lesson learned for Tanner.
Chriss, I was wondering if something was wrong. Glad you were able to get dad to the hospital and taken care of. Remember when dealing with your stepmom that she doesn't remember anything. You can say it 20 times and it doesn't make a difference. Just go with the flow and don't take it personal. They mean no malice. You just have to take charge and if she doesn't like it, too bad.
Maryq, I used to make curtain for my house years ago. Glad you found some things you needed after all.
Lyn, I've been thinking about you. I know this is a lot, but you'll get though it and hopefully Gary will too.
Dealing with the insurance company is a pain.
Maryz, the pattern went out in the mail yesterday. I've been embellishing the mittens. I did a few the same and a few different. I used bead for the gingerbread man. We'll be getting some more rain tomorrow. Right now it's sunny and cool.
Judi, I would have opened the JA box and taken everything out as soon as I got it.
Flo, nice of you to taken in another dog. Hope it does well with your dog.
I've been looking over papers and getting things ready for an appointment with the attorney tomorrow. Hopefully everything will be transferred into my new trust by now. I smelled gas under the range top at my dads, so I'm having someone come out to take look. I'm sure it just needs a new fitting. It hasn't been used in over a year. Once I smelled the gas I opened up the kitchen window and left it open. I usually leave windows in the back of the house open. The house it at the end of a cul-de-sac and behind it is a steep hill, so no one will bother it. Besides, there really nothing to steal at this point. Jack is doing better and we are back to walking in the morning and afternoon. He is so happy to be out and about.
Have a lovely day.
