Post by grammiequilts » Wed Oct 22, 2025 6:52 am

Good morning I just know somone is typing at the same time I am. It is rainy and cloudy and in the 40s here very typical fall day, I am doing some laundry and waiting to see if I can do more windows today, I did 6 yesterday, 6 more upstairs to go.
While I wait I needed to take the VC quilt off the LA. I need it to be loaded sideways to fit the backing I rolled it to test and I was short had I started to quilt it I would have been on a world of hurt,,,short on backing, I never test it but I had a sneaky feeling ( always go wiith a sneaky feeling) So I will reload the quilt for quilting,
Volleyball game for Sophia at 4 then I will feed the kids their parents are in Vegas for a few days,,,Fried chicken and buttered noodles Parmasean cheese, I would add a veggie to that but they hate veggies,,,so this is supper for them. Might be able to add some cut up fruit for dessert, they will be good.
Ken may be home tonight but if he has to work too late I ttold him to come home in th morning, so we shall see if he listens to me.( Ususally he does not)..
Ihope ypu all get accomplished what you start today I almost never do.LOL ADD kicks in so much lately.
Tinab I need to look up those ornaments you are making,,,Anything Christmas has my attention...
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo
MAryq add me to the Card swap also...

Good morning - again.

I had my usual chatty post all typed out and suddenly it went *POOF*! My finger must have hit some secret key. Even my network engineer couldn't get it back for me. So here goes a second try.

VAL - good news on Tony. Hopefully he's on the right path now. Did you get results from sonogram of arm yet? Glad you are taking a break and going home, even though I know it's a very long drive. 95 North to I-80 and turn left?

MQ - now can you come help me clean MY storage closet? It's deep. You've seen it but probably don't remember it - in the quilting room. Right now I can't even fight my way TO the closet let alone INTO it. We have work to do. A card swap would be very nice!

JUDI - I washed a window yesterday and thought of you. It was a big window! The only other window I can reach is the slider and maybe I'll do that today. Bill has to do the rest, and he will say, "It's only been a year". I don't fight it. He's doing a lot extra right now. Just read your morning post. Ooops! So glad you listened to your quilty sense and checked that backing to top ratio! Hope all goes well now! And you are right - I was here typing at 5am, lost my post just as I was finishing, went to shower while Bill was still home to help me with sox, got more coffee, then came back to retype. And gosh - it's been 2-1/2 hours!

LOIS - glad your dr appts went well. Our lab results start pouring into our My Charts some even while we are still driving home from the dr appt - 2 miles. We get texts to alert us when they come in so we have them even before the dr.

JANA - you mean you might get snow soon?? You lucky!! I LOVE snow!. Maybe we'll get some this winter. Hoping. Sorry about the med snafu. One reason I don't like mail Rx's. But sounds like with this one you have no choice.

LYN - welcome home!! I know you are happy to be there at last! Did you stay at KOA in Abilene? We were there last year. Not on our usual route but last year was special - came through CO to see family.

LORI - I would love to have a puzzle day. I have a beautiful one of the iconic red pick-up in the snow with golden retriever and puppies. I think you might like it. Maybe after Amara & Co's visit, I'll work it, and if I do, and if you would like it, I'll send it to you.

TINA B - a busy B for sure! When I need a quilting fix but can't quite get to the machine, I work on my hand projects - Cathedral Windows, hexies, yo yo's (need to circle back to those), or cross stitch. Keeps me from getting 'frayed' as you say. Love that term for "need to quilt! NOW!).

Yesterday was awesome! I felt good! Didn't even have to use the cane much. We cleaned and got all the spaces ready to receive our new furniture. After it arrived at 9am, we had to fine tune placement, adorn with quilts, dust, polish tables, bookshelves, etc, and then deal with the fall out from rearranging our house, both upstairs and downstairs. KittyCat was confused, so he just turned over in the one chair that stayed and that he knew, and went back to sleep. He knows how to deal with stress.

Today - no plan. It's chiropractor at 9am and LuLu will be here at 10am to clean. She will find this house a whole lot different than when she left it 2 weeks ago! I got the first (of three) borders on my KTVC and the second border cut and ready to go so I might do that today. Supper is going to be grilled cheese and tomato basil soup. Amara and her parents will be here tomorrow!! So excited!

That's all for now. I'll probably be back later. I sometimes just sit in a corner with my book, CW's, and computer so I can stay out of LuLu's way. She is a white tornado!

hugs!

Good morning!

Looking to be a beautiful day here. A good thing, as indeed to head out for some groceries. My tall termite will be here tomorrow for the weekend. And food is a necessity!

Not much else going on. I did my best dripping with honey voice and checked on the med shipment, it was shipped and should be here this morning. Better be! Then down to my Batt Cave to play.

Hugs and prayers,
Jana

Good morning from Myrtle beach.
Things have been a off here a while. Joe's BCG treatments (3 Weds in a row) in late Sept. were very hard on him-(bathroom runs every hour for days and night) We were told that the more times this is done the harder the reactions from the bladder are. Now the next set will be in 6 months. A scope is set for mid Nov.
Praying for no problems.
I started radiation today. Fast and hopefully will do its magic. This all started in May and I'm lucky the breast cancer was found in an early stage. PLEASE make a yearly mammo appointment. I had 1 done each year for decades and BAM at 74 a problem. I have to see a PT for lymph nodes tomorrow still a problem. Hoping they can help loosen up the tightness, its been over 2 months.
I read the posts as often as I can-and hope everyone is okay in my world of unseen sisters.

Good morning. YAY!!! It's supposed to rain today. I just love the rain.

Lots of busy in my week this week. Cardio rehab really uses up a day but I love it. I'm working towards that 18 minute mile and also doing a machine that is like peddling a bike but you use your arms. I have an echo tomorrow morning so my cariologist can start a baseline for me. I also need to make an appointment for Judy to get her hair done.

A friend of mine picked out new living room furniture, and yesterday she and I went to the furniture store so she could order it. It won't arrive till the first of the year, but it's beautiful. I would love to have a new couch, but it won't happen yet.

My stove is in and usable. I am so thankful. My sink still isn't hooked up, but it will be. I would love to put my kitchen back together, but will patiently wait until I can. I might grumble to myself but my dad will see patience.

Shhhh, listen, the kids at the school are saying the pledge, do you hear them? I love this part of the morning.

Maryz, so exciting to have new furniture. And the kids will be arriving soon. It is good to be you.

Valerie, hope Tony continues to improve.

Last night I made a stew for the crock pot, The veggies were still a little crunchy when I had some last night so it is cooking in the crockpot again this morning. It's going to be dinner tonight.

After cardio rehab I plan to do a little more laundry, and I still need to push that vacuum around the house. I want to brush Moose and give him a bath. He's a pretty stinky dog.

You all have a fun day,
Chriss

Good morning from Sunrise Beach. A pleasant 75° , high of 87°, which I will gladly enjoy.

MaryQ, Have I opened a can of worms for you, with liking the card swap idea? You probably have email address for everyone. Since I will be at the house all winter, I will text you this address.

And if we do have a card swap, others might check that you have their current address.

MaryZ, We're not big fans of KOA. In Abilene, this time, we stayed at Ridgeview RV. When I was looking on RV Parky app, I thought this was the park we stayed at 2 years ago, but it turned out that the red balloon on the app was hiding the Whistle Stop RV which is where we stayed, their about a half mile apart. I should have zoomed in more when looking. I liked the Whistle Stop better.

Lori, You reminded me that I had a puzzle mat, that you can roll your puzzle up to get it out of the way. It's in the MH and will be in the house soon.

Diane, I don't like to post this, but I have heard 2 different groups of Dr's speaking on what they now realize are negative effects from the Covid vaccines. Both groups noted a higher rate of cancers. These are not just U.S. Dr's, but studies being done in many other countries, one spoke who was from Italy. Another Dr said he has apologized to his patients for pushing the vaccine, he thought he was doing the right thing, but admitted he should have researched it more. I hope and pray your treatments go well. Prayers for Joe, too.

MaryQ, I'm sorry that I'm hard to keep track of. It will be easier this winter because we'll probably just stay at home.

I had our mail forwarded and just opened a United Airlines letter that says we have more options on insurance. I will be joining MaryQ in researching insurance now.

Chriss, You have recovered so fast from your surgery. An 18 minute mile sounds wonderful after what you've been through. Heck the best I could do in the 90's, when my SIL talked me into doing a 5K with her, was a 15 minute mile. It about did me in. She claimed there was a free beer at the finish line, but my luck they didn't do that after that race.

I need to go get some groceries and then just relax or research the dang insurance. I will start unloading stuff tomorrow. I have to get the lawn mower out and work on the back yard around my Cabin. Seems my lawn guy only did half the job a couple weeks ago, which explains why he hadn't asked for a check.

Judi, enjoy dinner with the kids tonight. I left a quilt with my friend to be quilted and she put it on the wrong way. She didn't notice until she was almost done. She had to take it off the frame and cut and paste to get the right size.

Maryz, I do that sometimes. I don't even know what key I hit that makes everything disappear. If I did I would try to avoid doing it. Glad you were having a better hip day. Sounds like you already cleaned everything.

Jana, so if the sweet honey voice doesn't work, then what? Bill and I play good cop, bad cop. He's the good one. He tells people you don't want to have to deal with my wife. She won't be as nice. I can be if I need to be though.

Diane, hope all goes well with the radiation treatment and it kills the bad things it needs too.

Chriss, you're getting there with you mile. It takes time. Hope all goes well with the echo. I keep thinking I need to shop for furniture, but that hasn't happened yet. I don't like shopping for things like that, or any household things. That's why we haven't started anything. If I don't do it it doesn't get done.
I love to her children recite the pledge. It's a good foundation of our country.

Valerie, hope Tony is better and your getting in a little sewing time.

Lyn, sounds like nice weather. I need to get a puzzle mat.

I took Jack for a walk this morning. He was doing well and then when we got home he was hurting. I iced his leg and gave him a pain pill. It's so hard to see him hurting. I was going to go to drawing class this morning, but didn't want to leave him. So I just zoomed in instead. Glad I didn't go because it wasn't what I thought we were going to do. They were just tracing a picture. I can do that by myself. Years of practice with applique. We might have chili for dinner, or something else. I'll see how the day goes. I need to run the vacuum to pick up some dog hair. This puzzle is driving us crazy. It's round and the colors don't match the picture.

Have a lovely day.

OH MY, I'm surprised I was able to get on...I usually try at the bad times and then give up....BUT, greetings from a chilly, damp, dreary, SW. Pa...We've had some gorgeous weather and I think that makes this seem worse, lol....In fact, I was just on, checking airlines for flights going south...2 of my friends have already left to go to their homes down there and already being nasty in telling me how warm and nice it is.......
MaryZ, glad to hear you do have good days, hopefully more good than bad....Just this morning, I took my sister to her back doctor and he's going to start the shots....2 years ago, he told her it wasn't her back but her hip, which she then had replaced but now the back is whacky again...We had to laugh when she filled out that sheet and asked if she had any metal in her body...Every where but her head. She's filled with titanium and so much fun to go through airport security with, lol.....I can only imagine how excited you must be for the "A Team" to get there.....And to also have that new furniture, as Chriss said, it's good to be you.....

Jana, Jim used to let me handle any "irritable" calls...He was a softy, wouldn't argue but when something just wasn't right, it was my turn...Even when we'd go to order a new car, he'd tell the salesman, she's in charge.....Hopefully, those meds came today! And I know all too well, how you need to have the pantry well stocked if your visitor is an "eater"...My Mom used to say, those boys have hollow legs.....

Judi, I normally like doing windows, not that I have that many, but not this weather....Might do the inside and let the Good Lord take care of the outside or just close the mini blinds...Enjoy your dinner with the kids......And, how many husbands really do listen to their wives????

Lyn, loving your weather and could really use a few of those degrees today....I'm just not ready for sweats and socks....Now, you are in the house that has the new "quilting shed", right? I can only imagine having something like that...Might really get me motivated....Quite interesting about the covid vaccines...I think most of us along with most doctors really did think we were doing what was best.....

Chriss, I'm in awe of how well you've bounced back from your surgery...Like I've said, just can't keep a good woman down....Hope you'll get that kitchen back in order and take lots of pictures...Love to see what others do in their homes......I have a very long haired stinky cat that is over due for a trip to the "beauty shop"...Eric said, he would give her a bath but I don't think we'd have enough bandaids if he did....She's almost 20 pounds and very hard to get her into the carrier with out a few scratches, lol....

Well, need to get off this machine and make a few phone calls...We had gotten a phone through Walmart a few months ago and it more or less blew up so I was trying to get it replaced last night...Well, 5 hours later, they decided, they couldn't replace it, I'd have to go to AT&T....I might never step into another Walmart as long as I live!

Tonight's supper is going to be "must goes".... Little chili, couple hot dogs with sauerkraut, salad and I did make gingerbread for afters......

You all have a great rest of the day..............Be safe!
