Monday October 6th
Good morning its another warm day but we will cool down to normal fall weather this week. Rain maybe tomorrow we are in a draught and the river is very low.
Today I will go and pick up a grocery order and a meat order, then at 11 my friend is bringing Sophias home coming dress, (She altered it) We will go to brunch after that, So I will be busy today,
I am in the assembly phase of the KTVC quilt it is not how I would have done it but its getting there. This has been trying to say the least. Each designer has a reason for doing things the way they do. This quilt is adorable but has tried my patience, maybe I will get it put together this week. and ready to quilt.
Hope you all have a wonderful day,
Applefest was nice, I didnt buy anything. But I managed to walk half of it,,,It was 85 and cement was hot...so I cut it short,,,but there were a lot of people,

Morning all,
Yesterday took it easy. Went to later mass, then just watched movies and relaxed.
Today SJ needs a bath then it's clean bathrooms.
No word on my friend Debbie, but I don't think she's going to pull through.

Good morning,
MQ - glad you're home again! Funny, isn't it, that when one of our group is gone, even if they are still posting regularly, I miss them! And you were missed!
JUDI - kudos for walking the Apple Trail! And for not buying anything you didn't need.
CHRISS - I think you should invite Elliott and his crew to come visit you!
LYN - will you be hauling much stuff to Texas this trip or is it all mostly there already?
LORI - looks like both our baseball teams won yesterday! But our 'hawks lost.
JANA - I'd be looking at Zion coming home by Thanksgiving as long as he minds his p's and q's.
LOIS - if I remember correctly that snowman quilt had excellent directions and pictures, Unlike KTVC, unfortunately,
Yesterday Bill gathered up the laundry for me and while he was gone I got 4 loads washed. I cleaned the fridge but not the taking-it-all-apart kind of clean, Just removed food, washed shelves, and replaced food. While I was at it, I cleaned any veggies we had left and sliced up a bunch for stir fry for supper. And I made 14 flying geese that I'd cut out 2 days ago. By then I was completely done in. My hips are playing good hip, bad hip with me. And they've gotten confused and both are playing bad hip now. I'm going to call the ortho surgeon this morning and see if I can get on their cancellation list for an earlier appt. Right now I have appt for Oct 15th.
Today - chiropractor. and then happy hour at Doyle and Susies. I'm to take a small dessert. I was going to make tiny pumpkin tartlets, but don't think I can manage standing in the kitchen long enough so I believe Bill is going to pick something up. We have other friends coming for supper on Thursday. I've planned a simple meal and think Bill can handle most of it, but we'll make that call on Wed. If things go really well today, I might make some more FG.
Stay well!!

Good morning!
Sunny, ,but cold. We're warming up the house with the furnace running. Won't take too long.
Not much for me. Mr G has a dermatologist appointment this morning. A growth right where the bow of his glasses rub, needs to be removed. Shouldn't be too long. Sarah is taking him. So I'll get the three small loads of laundry done and head downstairs for Batt Cave time.
Ethan is doing great. We have, for the most part, his asthma back under control. We'll see how long it stays, under control, once school starts today. He does fine until after lunchtime.
Do fun stuff!
Hugs,
Jana

Good Morning Girls
Everybody still sleeping this morning?? Or having trouble getting online?
I am home from my wonderful little weekend with DB and SIL. I like all my SILs, some more than others, but I really like this one!!! My DB is the oldest of the family and if you know anything about "the birth order factor"---If you know, you know! Oldest's are the smartest--or think they are, and the ones that are always right! But I do enjoy hanging out with them. Greg taught me how to play cribbage, and with a little practice I might be good at it! The colors "up north" are turning much more so than down here. Though they are less than 2 hours north of me-about 65 miles, the color are changing much more so. Won't be long though before my big maple tree will be bright red!
It will likely take me a while to catch up with y'all, but it sounds like there was a lot going on over the weekend. A new tiny baby, a walking baby, a "baby" coming home to visit?
Flo..... I looked back to see a story about your friend.... can't find it. I did see "life support" and want you to know I send along some prayers for her today.
Judi.... You didn't find any fun little trinket or gizmo that you couldn't live without at Applefest? Seem like a lot of little towns have festivals around this time of year. All the churches in my area seem to put on a "fest" of some kind.
Maryz...Always nice to go visit.... and always nice to come home. Like you, their RV is their guest room. It was little difficult to get my big butt up on their very high bed in the airstream, but it was super fun. I had made a big pot of chile the other day so I took that along. We did pizza one night. They go to a little hometown cafe quite often (so they are well know there) so of course we had to stop by. Population of their town is only 798, though in the summer it more than triples--as it's on the biggest lake in MN. I'm so excited for you to have the A team come home for a while!! I don't suppose Antonio has ever been to WA!
Jana... Glad to hear Ethan is doing better. I'm with you, I wait as long as possible before I turn on the furnace! I have a little gas fireplace, with a small blower fan, it it gets really chilly at night, I'll turn that on for a few minutes. It's not totally efficient but it helps!
Chriss... Every once in a while I'll pick up some Lean Cuisine frozen dinners--but as you know I avoid anything with broccoli! Some are better than others. The spaghetti or ziti ones aren't bad. And I know 1 is a serving---but to me, that's just a snack! If the carb count isn't too bad, I'll make 2. I just knew that little boy would be walking soon! Will Richard send you a little video when they can get one... sometimes it happens so fast you can't get the phone ready to film in time. They are coming to do the "real" measure of my kitchen this afternoon!!! I'm so excited!
Valerie.... I'm guessing you are on the way back to Vegas to help out Tony? Is he on the schedule for surgery or is everybody still trying to their ducks in a row?
Lori.... Do you take your dogs to a groomer for bath time? Nice to have non-stinky dogs come home isn't it. I remember bathing our black labs---they were not happy! But they always looked so pretty and shiny after! I'm thinking I might go get Zara sometime this week and keep her for a few days! I miss that little stinker!
First load of laundry just buzzed so I better go switch loads. I didn't do much cleaning before I went up north, so I need to run the vac and tackle some dust bunnies this morning. Just waiting for the coffee too kick in. Oh and I found out over the weekend that I have to try to get all new Medicare Insurance for 2026. The plan I had no longer exists after January 1! So guess will end up being on the phone and/or internet trying to find a plan!! Not sure I'll even see the sewing room today, but one can hope!
It's great to be back..... I bragged to my DB and SIL all about my QIAD friends all weekend.
Wishing you all the best today!

Re: Monday October 6th
Good morning. I love these crisp cool mornings, it's a perfect way to start a marvelous day.
My pointer disappeared on my laptop again this morning. Thankfully I have a touch screen. But it is annoying.
This morning is cardio rehab then a trip over to the parents house for lunch. Yesterday was the flea market where I spent $1.
Judi, sorry that quilt is frustrating. It will be nice to have it done. I also did a lot of walking yesterday, great exercise but too warm for a long walk. Enjoy brunch
Maryz, glad you are able to whip those hips into shape. My kids know they can come here any time, they work and really only have weekends. And it's also 2 1/2 hours each way. I'll get over there when I can do a little more. It's all good.
Jana, I haven't had to turn the heat on yet. Each morning I open the windows and sit under a quilt with my warm robe. So glad you have Ethan's asthma stuff under control.
Maryq, so glad you had a good time. I'm also the oldest kid and grandkid in my family. You are correct, we are the smartest. I agree, one tv dinner is often a snack. And you could have easily avoided the broccoli in the one I had, three little pieces, what a joke. Yes, I have a video of Elliott walking his wobbly little catch his balance walk. Yay for getting your counter tops measured. Mine are being made now.
I would have been here sooner but Moose decided a game of chase me around the living room would be a better idea. He sure keeps me moving. He's about 10+ years old but sometimes acts like a puppy.
Dinner tonight will be something with hamburger, I'll know more after a trip to the grocery store. Your all have a great day, I need to get ready to go into town.
Chriss

Good morning
Chilly here in Indian Springs. 55 now, will get to around 78. Worked some on the Sunflower quilt yesterday but having difficulty with the quarter inch. Machine did not come with one. I have one ordered from Vacaville shop but no idea when that may come in. I am going to call the local shops today and see if anyone has one. If so I will go pick it up.
Tony had a bad day yesterday and didn't really eat till dinner. He wanted 15 bean soup so put some in the crock pot in the morning. Couldn't get him to eat anything else all day except he did take one protein drink.
My DSIL helped me go through all the canned goods yesterday and we threw out probably 2/3 of them. Out of date. Stale crackers, stale rice. Dusting caught up. House vacuumed. I run a chlorox wipe over the kitchen counters every day. Best I can do.
Chriss wow! A whole dollar! Way to save money. If it gets any colder here I will have to turn the heat on. You have to use Propane or Electric heat here which are both very expensive.
Maryq my oldest sister was not like that. She was Tony's wife. It's my second sister who thinks she's queen of the world. And very judgemental of others. Surgery is this Friday. We have an appointment Wed at the hospital. Not sure why. He also has to see his PCP on Wednesday. Unfortunately the hospital called when I was home and if they told him the whys, he doesn't remember.
Well guess who is awake. I better start trying to get him to eat something. Have a great day everyone

I have snow! Went to take Minnie out last night about 10:30 and there was snow on the Jeep and the steps. Just enough to want to get the heck out of Dodge!
MaryZ, Most of the stuff I need to get back to the MH is stuff I need while here at the house, sewing machines (2 since I bought the 570QE), pills, CPAPS, fridge food, file box, etc. I almost called you yesterday. My right hip gave out a couple times and was hurting. I don't think it liked me climbing the ladder to install detectors. When you walk, sometimes does it just give way?
Chriss, Try touching the top left corner of your mouse pad. I think that's the corner that turns pointer arrow on and off. I've had it happen before, too.
Flo, Prayers for Debbie.
As I mentioned, I was installing the detectors yesterday after a run to Ace for the correct drill bit. I have two left downstairs, but found a problem in the guest bedroom that I'm trying to fix before hauling the ladder down the stairs. The fluorescent light fixture is pulling away from the ceiling on one end. I went back to Ace and got a couple bolts that I will install into the studs, if I can find them. Then use wire to tie around bolts to hold the light in place for now. I just don't want it falling down over the winter.
I need to get moving. Y'all have a good day.
Lyn

Re: Monday October 6th
Back got Mr G off, no easy task. We thought that this appointment was here in town. You know what thought got! It was in Midvale, half way to SLC, so 8 had to hurry him up. He's not good at hurry. Then they were barely on their way, when Sarah calls me and Ethan had a severe asthma attack and I needed to go get him. So I did and took him home. Ethan neglected to take his zipper pouch of meds with him today. And he got a lesson from Grandma too. I used a great devotional about responsibility and no excuses. You take ownership or lose your bonus, part of this devotional. Now to reinforce, simple phase, no excuses and not argue with him, any point. Hope he learns quickly, it will go a long way in his life.
And now Sarah is texting me about Mr G, doing the same thing! Calgon, take me away! One of those days!
Did I say, quiet?, that is not what happens here!
