TUESDAY, September 30th

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Sep 30, 2025 5:46 am

Good morning,

It was an early night for me last night, which means an early morning. And it only takes two early mornings before it becomes habit for the fur-boys. So now we're all getting up at 4am. Yaaawwwwnnnn;nn....

VAL - I hope your house will soon be back to normal. Sounds like your house sitter wasn't a fan of fresh veggies. If you ever do this again, just put a case of Dinty Moore Canned stew o the counter and some frozen pizzas in the freezer. Most men (and many women!) don't cook. At the most, they open and heat. Did he even realize he'd left your home in such a mess?? Or apologize?? And a new machine! Will this be your travel machine when you are able to get back to your LQS events? I hope you were able to find it on sale. I Googled it and it looks like a terrific travel machine though a tad heavy at 21.5#. My B480 weighs less than that. Maybe this little factoid will make Bill happier the next time he's toting mine around for me.

CHRISS - yay!! He's walking! By the end of the week, he'll be walking across the room! And then life is going to change for Mom and Dad! How was cardio rehab yesterday? Are you still loving it?

LORI - sorry, I misread. I thought you said there were no more games for you to watch. It would be fun if my Mariners and your Cubs were in the series this year.

MARY Q - nope - never woke up in the middle of the night with a song in my head. But math! I'm always doing math in my head - all night long. Quilting math. Awake or asleep, I'm doing math. I think I'd rather have a song! And remember I gave Bill a choice of lasagna or pork chops? You'll never guess what he chose - split pea soup!! He doesn't even care for it that much (though it's my all time favorite soup). So that's what I made. Now to see what he chooses for tonite . . . .

JANA - Poor Stuart! I bet he is hurting! Hope his elbow heels properly. Is he still doing the same job?

FLO - Is your company still there? If so, what's the plan for today? When my sis and DBIL visit, Allan likes to do chores - like build things, wire things, wash vehicles, etc. Funny guy!

DIANE - glad the worst of the storms seem to be missing you. Judi's (and mine) log cabins are from Kansas Troubles Vintage Christmas pattern (KTVC) and kit. They have 1" gold cornerstones running diagonally through the block. There are only 4 LC blocks in the pattern. I think Lori and Val are doing the same quilt.

JUDI - you had a busy day yesterday! Did you get any sewing tine in at all?

LOIS - any word yet on your machine? Or is it even in Utah yet? Have you tracked it?

Yesterday we walked into CVS Pharmacy and asked if they took walk-in's for flu/Covid shots. And yay, they did! So that's now off our check list. Now we'll be covered if the A-Team visits. It takes at least 2 weeks for both those immunizations to take full effect so we didn't want to wait for our appointments in mid-October. I worked on the four log cabins in KTVC. I have one done and the other three half done. I'll get them finished this morning. Other than my walk, I have nothing on my calendar today. But starting tomorrow, it's going to be busy, busy busy through Saturday. I have an appointment every day and on Sat we're going back to Oly to help our broken friends with whatever they need. As for supper - maybe Bill will want those pork chops now. Or, I found a small pork tenderloin in the freezer. He has choices! Last night he threw me a happy curve when out of the blue he asked for split pea soup, my favorite, but he doesn't care for it much. But I make mine in the crockpot. I think he'd only had it from a can until he married me.

Have a super day!

Good morning!

Weather is fast on the slippery slope to winter white stuff. Snow level is dropping in mountains.

We're out of necessities, milk! A run to the dangerous store, Costco, this morning. We have enough for breakfast, so we're slightly OK.

Didn't get the radon test started, so it will be punted for awhile. So my sewing won't be interrupted. Especially this weekend during General Conference. The uglies are done too. Yoohoodi is out doing his assignment too.

Do fun stuff!

Hugs,
Jana

Maryz, I very happy our team will be playing October baseball. For how long, I don't know. I sure hope you can get your sleep schedule figured out 0400 is way to early.

Valerie, hope you got all the messes cleaned up and can have some sewing time.

We had an ant problem yesterday morning in one of our kitchen cabinets. No food in that one. So I took everything out and cleaned and sprayed it. It seems to have worked. Since I was up there, I took out some dishes and starting packing them up. They were my grandmothers China from her 25th wedding anniversary in 1957. I don't use them, so I've decided they need to go. Hopefully someone will want them and use them. I have a doctors appt. this morning. My left shoulder had been really bothering me and I can only move it certain ways. I'm hoping they send me to PT and it all works out.

Have a good day.

Good Morning Girls

Change of plans for the day.. It's my friend Peggy's birthday today and we were going to go to a couple thrift stores then out to lunch but she texted she's not feeling well, so we will postpone. SO that leaves me open to what I really should be doing---ugh--- floors-dust-vacuum ! But I'm sure I'll be able to sneak in some sewing time today. Maybe, just maybe I'll go get Zara and see if she wants to come over for a sleep over at Nana's. I kind of miss having her here!

Not too much else to tell y'all --- I'm finding myself distracted by the various projects around here so I think I'll get busy. Need to do sheets today, but the rest of the laundry is done.
And of course... I need more coffee!!

When I take a break later, I'll try to peek back in !

In the meantime, wishing you all a terrific Tuesday!

Good morning. It's another beautiful day.

Cardio rehab went well yesterday. I have decided that my personal goal is a 20 minute mile on the treadmill. I set it at 2.5 MPH and will work my way up. Then I work on a sit down machine that pushes and pulls my arms and legs. My right arm is a pretty sore so I only used the left arm. Would love to be able to use both arms and at least do my floors.

Today is the follow-up with the surgeon. I have to get a chest xray first. I would love to see a video of my surgery. I'm just so grateful for the team I had. And I was amused by all of the opinions out there. Go here don't go there, have this surgeon, don't have that one. It's just like in April everyone is an accountant and in November everyone is a politician.

Valerie, cool machine, hope you love it. Sorry your house sitter just sat and you came home to a mess.

Lyn, if I can help with those pictures please send them my way. I can get them posted tonight.

Maryz, yay for getting those shots. Now when the kids get there it will just be all play, yay you. Will this be Amara's first big trip away from her house? What will be the method of travel. I'm imagining her looking at everything with wide open eyes, so many new things to see.

Jana, Every time you say you need milk I think of the gallons I used to buy when the kids were small. My son would drink milk instead of anything else. Since you told me to do something fun I think I will go to a thrift store today. Modesto, where my surgeon's office is, has quite a few thrift stores compared to the two in Merced.

Lori, hope the doctor appointment goes well. I hope someone wants your china too. Do people even use China anymore? I have some just sitting in a hutch that will likely never get used.

Maryq, come here instead. I have floors, and they need you. ha ha. Sorry your friend isn't feeling well, maybe next weekend. I bet, if you don't keep Zara, you will have a dog of your own soon. I'm sitting in my recliner with my feet up and my dog is rubbing his back on my feet, Guess he needs his back scratched.

So, it's getting late, I need to move my tush. I have rotisserie chicken thawed out, that will be dinner.

You girls have a fantastic day

Good morning It is another beautiful day here sunny and 70s. I started laundry and put bread dough on to rise...Tonight for supper Ken chose Tuna salad sandwiches and tomatoe soup. I think he chooses what is easy for me...I cook big suppers almost every night, and if I ask him I am out of ideas. He always picks something easy that he likes...I dont mind cooking anything, When the weather cools we will be eating lots of soups and stews. I love to cook. I havent made split pea soup in ages Ken is not crazy about it and I had it at home a lot as my mom made it often. I made it once and found out Ken didnt care fpr it so I dont make it any more but I do like it,
Today I will sew in between laundry loads ( one more to go) I am working on the ornaments blocks there are 13, Now these are easy,,,,
Yesterday we went to Sophias volleyball games the girls lost all 3 sets but they smile and hug each other anyway,,,so nice to see, then we grabbed a quick supper at home and set off to Rykers Hockey game,,,,the boys won their game and it was so good to see the family we dont see them much they just got home from a weeks vacation,,and before that we were gone,
Hope you are all doing well...Have a great day XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

A cool 64° and partly cloudy. There's a few Elk cows and calves down the road where Minnie likes to walk to get her business done. No bull around, guess a bull hasn't found this group yet, but one will.

I finally got postimages to work and have a post in Quilt Photos of the trail ride. Chriss, thanks for offering to help.

I hope everyone has a good day.
Lyn
