Morning
Brother and sister in law arrived yesterday. We had so much fun just visiting. Today is their 39 anniversary and Monday is my DS1 40 b-day. Bbq today.
When I showed my brother in law the bears I'm working on, he went crazy. He remembered his dad wearing those shirts. I went to give him 1 of each, but Lisa took them, so DS1 got his bears. So today sister in law & I will work on them. They will take some home..
Need to get busy. They will awake soon.

Re: Saturday September 27,2024
Good morning,
Today will be one of our last few days of good weather. Starting Monday we go to mid-60's and showers. But that's OK. I like rain and we need it badly. We have a few wildfires that have been raging all summer long and the biggest one is only about 50 miles away. So I won't be complaining about rain.
CHRISS - I'm so glad you are loving your cardio rehab. Makes it much easier to attend and it will do you so much good. And you can share tips with your friends to keep heart healthy! You have to wait for your countertops and I have to wait for our furniture. Let's race! They should all come about the same time - mid to late October. We've put off buying furniture for 5 years but once we finally did, I want it NOW. But we wait.
LYN - I'm so glad your trail ride was purrfection! I'll be looking forward to photos when you get the time to post them. I post photos from my phone using postimg. But I post my daily posts from my laptop on my lap, sitting on the couch, with Foxy snuggled against my hip, his head often resting on the edge of my keyboard. And Scottie laying on my feet. Every single morning.
LORI - that is funny about the spider and your mom. My sister is a very funny person and has hidden things all over her house, notes between plates, spiders everywhere, funny joke items. My niece is going to get a lot of smiles when she goes through my sister's house. So it sounds almost as if it would be easier to take what you want out of your parents house and then set everything out and have a garage or estate sale. Do it yourself of if there's too much to handle, let an estate sale company come in and do it.
MARY Q - When your mind is blank in the morning, you can always just say 'hello, everyone'. Is a "dinner scarf" just a prettier word for 'bib'? I've always planned to make my sisters bibs, though more as a joke. I figured I'd use a thin bath towel and cut it in half and make two. I'd attach ties at the top and maybe even turn up the ends to make a catch-all pocket. We'll check out the buy nothing website. I think you and the kids should work out a doggie day care sort of thing with Zara. They drop her off in the morning on days you will be home, and you enjoy her company, you walk each other, and then they pick her up in the evening. Win/win/win!
JANA - well, I'm glad you've got that Kimberbell pattern. Whenever I see the name Kimberbell I go on alert for you. Bill is saying he wants new lights for our house! Yay! He wants LED with changeable colors and patterns. And I say we hire someone to hang them. He seems pretty agreeable. So did our son in law! He's nearly 60 and doesn't want to be on any ladders either! Anyway, it just made me think of you.
VAL - today, if all goes to plan, you are heading home. Are you leaving your machine at Tony's? You'll be back soon. Be safe on the road. Will you be going over Tehatchapie or is there another route that's more direct for you? I think I'll get out my road atlas and check for myself. Maybe through Death Valley? I like to follow other people's travels. You type out your posts on your phone?? Use the dictation option! Just remember to enunciate clearly, dictate in your punctuation, and proofread. Takes a bit of practice, but is SOO much easier and faster.
LOIS - hasn't this snowman been a fun project?! I'm sure he's going to go together purrfectly. Yes, IF/WHEN the A-Team is here, you bet we're doing Christmas whatever time of year it is! They will be staying in our trailer. Your shopping route today sounds fun - which I was coming along!
JUDI - have you beat those 4 log cabins into submission yet? You can do it- I know you can.
FLO - How sweet that your DBIL remembered his dad wearing those shirts! I hope you get the ones for him finished before they have to leave. Happy anniversary to them. When I was just 15 I decided I wanted to be married on Sept 27. I just like the date. But it never happened. I was married Jan 30, Dec 12, and Feb 14th. Maybe my next wedding . . . .
Yesterday was a nice day. We brought in the house plants from the deck, but of course, we had to wash the window first where the plants will go. Then vacuum. Then rearrange the furniture. Silly Billy thought when I said 'bring in the plants' that I just meant bring in the plants. He was so exhausted from this extra 45 min of work that he had to go out to the trailer to work on something - which is thinly disguised code for take a long nap. lol! Usually I do all this myself (and a lot more!) and he never notices!
In the sewing room, I finished the two stocking blocks in KTVC and pulled fabrics for the peppermint candy blocks. I will probably do those today. Then next up is those dreaded log cabins. Judi's got me a little skittish about those. Doyle and Susie are coming over for HH so we'll be off to Costco for some sandwiches. Plus I'll make some deviled eggs and put out green olives, grapes, and nuts. It will be a light supper.
Got to run. "Someone" is demanding his breakfast. and he can get loud.
Happy Saturday!
MZ,

Good morning as Chris always says..It's going to be a beautiful day. Sunny 70 no clouds,
i will do some house work today, I just did my bathroom except for the floor which I will get to, then kitchen floor. I really need to take my fridge apart and clean all the glass shelves in there,,,I noticed they are a bit grimey, so I may do that today, I do have some laundry to do too. Bath mats and such need to be done...
I finally conquered the log cabin block. I know it was just mental but I couldnt wrap my mind around it,,,there are 4 of them so I need 3 more...I have come to hate that block. I had to recut some pieces but it looks like there is plenty of fabric...
Well off to join Ken for coffee and get this party started....have a wonderful day, I had the wierdest dream...I went to visit Chris,,,and Flo was there sewing in Chris's sewing room and Maryq was visiting Chris and they were eating together. Apparently Maryq didnt know i was there and I surprised her, that is where the dream ended, how strange the things that come up in your mind,,,,
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I really did something stupid, The Jane Austin quilt kit was on sale a QIAD I couldny resist since I made the first Jane Austen quilt. So I went to order it at a very good price...and it was back ordered...So I thought I just put it on hold to notify me when it was available. and when it was available I ordered it,,,,WELL i ordered it twice. and now i have 2 expensive quilt kits,,,,SO I have to pay to return it since it was my mistake,,,I will do that monday,,,Lesson learned. THey were very nice at customer service and gave me great help!!

Good morning!
It's still dark outside, not even the beginning of morning. That's a family saying, as in the heat of summer n California , we'd get the kids up early to get outside chores done. Only thing we couldn't do was mow lawn, too noisy until 7 am. Rules!
Maryz - yippee, the A team is visiting! And new lights! Watch out for sticker shock if you put those permanent led lights up. We thought about those, then decided to use our elves company. Just for Christmas time. I like the big C-9 bulbs and the permanent leds aren't them. So I now do the ground level, which the grands and I can reach easily. Daniel knows my love of Christmas, so he made sure I have power in the lawn area in the front yard, as well as deck power too. He's just like Mr Scrooge here, all grumble , but does decorate, just can't let the world know he loves it!
I, too, have some floors that need mopping. But I first need to finish ironing a few shirts and 2 dresses. Best press is great on those, but the over spray, makes the floor sticky, so being the smart cookie, or lazy elf, I'll finish ironing first. I'm the weird one, I have a ton of dresses and wear pantyhose with them! It's a thing, especially on Sunday. Sunday church dress is dresses or skirts. Wearing pants to church just isn't done. I have enough dresses to go at least 6 months without wearing the same dress on those Sundays. And that's even after I cleaned out the closet and donating a bunch.
Still plugging along on sewing projects. I need to tame Sarah and her squirrels, she wants to start the new Kimberbell quilt too. That quilt has to be done here with my embroidery machine. And a trip to Logan first. Logan is a 2 hour drive, one way, from here.
Enjoy you day!
Hugs,
Jana

Good morning
Not sure when but will lose cell service soon. We are heading up I95 towards Tonopah. I95 ends in Fernley then we will head towards Sparks/Reno to see the new baby.
I am taking my sewing stuff home and will figure out a machine to take back to leave there. I will head back on the 4th. That will give me a week to get him back on track for surgery. He also has a couple dr. appointments I will take him too. My daughter and son in law will meet me there for 4 or 5 days so we can do some more intense cleaning. He had a really bad day yesterday.
Other than that nothing new
Down to 1 bar so better submit while I can. No phone service in a large part of Nevada

Sunny and 41Β°. I sure hope it didn't get down to freezing last night, because in all the commotion I left my plants outside. OOPS.
I try to dictate on my phone, but it doesn't like me. Trying to do punctuation period cuz it spells it out. And there's the example of what it does. I didn't pause but it decided to put a period after, me, and then spell period instead of putting a dot. Hence I don't dictate much.
Amanda and I had a great time in Loveland yesterday. She wanted to stop at the Christian bookstore in old town area. We spent a lot of time there looking and finding things we decided we needed. I had bought Garry and I new Bibles a few years back but never bought covers for them. I found two nice ones and some magnetic book markers. Amanda found a Bible that's more appropriate for Maddox age and reading level than what he presently has. She had the owner put his name on the cover. She found a study guide for herself and some other goodies. Then we went to Target and bought Maddox some jeans and shirts. We got a late start, so it was after 6 before we came up the Mtn. Kaylyn called to see what our dinner plans were and suggested ordering pizza instead of going to a BBQ place we'd talked about. That was a great idea and she picked a fun movie to watch while we ate and visited.
Amanda has a Bronco onesie that she wants me to transform into a doggy shirt for Moose. I have it deconstructed and ready to cut then reattach the binding.
Amanda leaves this morning, so I better get to sewing.
Have a great day.

Re: Saturday September 27,2024
Good morning beautiful ladies. It's going to be a great day today. Our weather is trying to cool down and so far has left the high 90's in the dust.
I woke up at 5 instead of 6 this morning so I have load two of two in the dryer. I could have done it in one load but thought about the weight and decided two was better than one.
I just might try to sweep the kitchen floor today. We will see how that goes. I am waiting for my energy to come back, I still get tired easily. Baby steps.
A friend of mine puts on a yearly dinner for Wreaths across America. She told me that someone bought two dinners and can't make it so would I like a dinner. Yes, I'd love dinner. She will bring it by tonight after the event and I will have it tomorrow. I really appreciated her thinking of me.
Flo, nice that you still have enough of the shirts left that you can make DBIL a bear. Whatcha bbqing?
Lois, HL sure has changed here. More household things rather than crafty things. I was there last week and they had even rearranged the store. I left purchasing nothing. Hope you find a treasure.
Maryz, Maybe I will make deviled eggs. Your hh dinner sounds perfect. The A team will love Christmas at your house. When Jerry was sick Marilyn and her boyfriend were here. We thanksgiving dinner then they put up the Christmas tree. I had bought Mar a microwave and she asked me to wrap it. I found some other things and then we had Christmas. Yay for getting Jana lights. What a perfect idea. I really only need a couch. Mine has been through two kids a dog and Jerry. The structure is in good shape but it's pretty disgusting. I have no clue what it would cost to recover it but probably about the same as a new couch. My thinking is, whatever I buy, it will only be used by me and should last the rest of my life.
Judi, I don't clean the glass shelves in my fridge often but when I do they just shine. Now I see why I am not hungry yet this morning. I ate during your dream. LOL. Sorry you have to return a quilt kit. I like that quilt but am in no way going to tackle it.
Jana, wouldn't it be funny if someone wore one of your donated dresses to church? No panty hose here. I do have a couple of dresses but never have worn them.
Valerie, safe travels. Nice you get to se the baby on your way home.
Lyn, I love that you are getting to spend a lot of time with the girls. Sounds like you got a lot done yesterday and yay for pizza
I have had a lot of distractions this morning and it seems like it's taken me forever to type this up. But, the laundry is done and Moose has had extra outside time.
Now I get to take a shower and have breakfast which I think will be a scrambled egg sandwich. Dinner will be the last (finally) of the tri tip.
Hope you all have a superb day,
Chriss

Good Morning Girls
Oh gosh, could the day be any more beautiful than this!! Sunny, perfect temp, no clouds! I just might have to take the dog for a walk later on! All I have to do is grab her leash and she's ready to go! Though one must take along rubber gloves and plastic baggies for the trip!
Flo.... Hope you guys have a great visit with family!! How cool that your BIL remembers those shirts!
Lois.... Take me with you to the fabric warehouse---not that I need anything ! Katie next door went to ours the other day and I was a very good girl and didn't go along! I just knew, that I would find something I don't really need there!
Maryz... Yes,, I'm thinking the dinner "scarf" is meant to me a more dignified thing than "bib"--lord knows I need one!! It was Lois's idea she sent to me--they are quick and easy and I'm debating if I should make a few for the craft fair--the only problem would be trying to display them. I had thought about having the kids drop Zara off here, but Shawn goes to work at 0530 and Kris leaves about 7---I ain't up that early!!
I do go get her once in a while and take her for a walk-about in their neighborhood. If you are looking for some kind of thing for your sister's these are super easy.. 9" wide x WOF --Round the ends-rights sides together-turn like a tube sort of... I found lots of ideas on Youtube! Does Bill sneak out to the trailer and take a snooze out there while he's supposedly fixing something!! That's a hoot!!!
Judi... Bummer that you ordered two kits by mistakes---especially expensive ones!! Kind of pain to have to return it--probably not easy like Amazon returns!
I did kind of google that kit a while back and thought for sure I'd never ever be brave enough to tackle that one! Since I have 7 quilts ready to go to Viv for quilting, I don't think I'll be tackling anything big any time soon!
Jana... I remember years ago there being a dress code for Sunday church! When I was a kid, in the Catholic church the women had to cover their heads. We wore "chapel veils" like circles of lace bobby pinned to our heads. And if we forgot our chapel veil, a piece of kleenex would work. It was a pretty strict rule back in the 50's. My mom always wore a hat and dress and my Dad wore a suit and tie. Now it's pretty much anything goes. You are a brave woman to do panty hose---when I used to try to wiggle into them... dex would send the kids outside so they couldn't hear me swearing!
Valerie.. Sending a prayer to St. Christopher for a safe journey back to home!
Lyn.... I saw your girls on Facebook!! You can sure tell they are sisters!! Beautiful girls! Your trail ride looks like it was so much fun!! I just think horses are one of the most beautiful animals that God invented. My nephew has written a few books about the wild horses of Wyoming and Colorado, with beautiful photography. He and his wife do the photos. Check him out--he's on Amazon. Chad Hanson. He teaches at Casper College in WY.
Chriss... OH yes, I'll be glad when all the "rehab" on my house is done! Not sure what I'll do about the blinds yet. At my old house, Kris replaced all my stupid little valances (that I made) with beautiful drapes and sheers etc. Some she made, some she found at Ikea I think. I want that!! It looks so elegant. But she has bigger windows than I do. I'm trying to find something that's easier to clean than blinds---the dust is a pain in the you-know-what! I think I found the perfect laminate for my kitchen and will go over and order on Monday!
Oh darn, you know what today is.... SATURDAY!!! You know what that means? CHORE DAY!! I suppose I should do a little cleaning, but like most days, I'd rather sew!! While digging out stuff in the garage I found a project I started back in oh maybe 2018? It's El's braid quilt. With a Jelly roll of beautiful green & blue batiks that Jen's 1st DH bought for me as apology for using my good scissors!
It got all wonky so I threw it in a bag and forgot about it... I took it all apart and it's actually going together pretty good now! The Christmas quilt is done.
Might be able to quilt myself---maybe !
Guess if I am going to get anything done today I better get in gear. I hear the washer playing its little tune so time to switch loads!
Wishing you all a SUPER DUPER Saturday

Re: Saturday September 27,2024
Maryq, love that quilt. My sister made that a few years ago.
Chriss, did you have your "not" poked potato last night? I bought some steak and will put them on the grill tonight and make "poked" baked potatoes. I bet it will be a while before you have your full energy back. You body has been though a major ordeal. I remember when Marilyn and her boyfriend came out. How is she doing?
Lyn, dang that's a little chilly. Hope the plants survived.
Valerie, I hope your DBIL does okay while you're away. Safe travels home.
Jana, I use best press, but I water it down to 1/2. It does make the floor sticky with over spray. That a long drive, but you'll have fun with Sarah.
Judi, bummer about ordering the pattern twice. I thought I made a purchase from Fatquarter shop last week, but when I checked I couldn't find it. I guess I didn't hit the complete button. So now I need to go do it again. Glad you figured out the log cabin block.
Maryz, my mom put notes on everything. It's nice because I know where these things are from and who had them. I bet you are excited to have the A team come visit.
Flo, sounds like you had a wonderful day with the fam.
It's another cool day. So strange that it was 90* 3 days ago and only 74 yesterday. I had to put an extra blanket on the bed last night. I did get the 2 bell blocks sewn together for the KTVC. Will work on some more blocks this weekend. Dinner will be steaks on the grill and baked potatoes. I'm going to make buttermilk pancakes for breakfast.
Have a lovely day.
