Thursday September 25,2025
Good morning,
I'm up no sunshine just cloudy humid and it will rain all day Bill has a Dr apt and I will go for the ride.
Yesterday I got the buttons to the snowman done so now I'm on to the scarf block I will start cutting out the pieces to that.
I already have a load of wash going and having coffee withy pumpkin creamer.
Yesterday I saw they had Guggenheim little giant scissors on sale so I bought a pair then I thought about it this morning and bought another pair .
So that's all the news from here .
Judi your outfit sounds nice I don't wear heels anymore recently I bought a pair by Skechers black and they have a ballerina bow on them reminds of what we wore back in the day.
Have a great day.
Prayers go out to all.
Lois

Good Morning Lois and the rest of my friends,
Well you all know what happens when you make plans, Our dinner was cancelled again last night, Seems someone waited til the last minute to make reservations ( always needed at this place) and the only time they had left was 8pm. Well no I cant eat at that late hour,,,so we will try again next week. so leftovers from the freezer again ( not a bad thing), and I went to my guild meeting, It was a ton of fun such nice ladies and we laugh a lot...the down size is I am the only one with a LA so I was given the next QOV to quilt. Another thing on my list But I have til november to do it,,,and its not that big, ( one of the ladies is dropping off the backing and My sister bought the batting, ) So I will squeeze that in,
I am off to the grocery store this morning they opened at 6, then I will try to get at the log cabin block which I frogged 4 times yesterday,,,I just couldnt wrap my head around this block and it was time to quit, We are going out with friends tonight this was planned weeks ago for my birthday,,,so this one will be. It is a nice place we have been to before and you dont need fancy,
Thanks for all the suggestions on my wedding attire, I think I have it, figured out but I may need you all again,,,I love that i can come here asking for help and it is always always forthcoming,,,xxx
Hope you all have a great day doing what you love best. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

The sun is super bright this morning. We have been very lucky so far this season with the hurricanes and hope it continues.
FLO-- hope your wrist won't give you to much of a problem. But wine (lots of) on your new back patio to enjoy the day will be my advice. Can't hurt to try.
GRAM--you are always on the go. Thank you for quilting for QOV. We have problems with LAers during the summer. People travel north for the summer to visit grans and family. Winter they huddle down south. We're suppose to hit high 80's even maybe 90 this week and rain later in the weekend.
I'm working on the mad eagle QOV top little by little. Still not to sure how it will all come together. Not following a pattern.
I'm trying to follow the routine for lymph nodes for my right arm. It still gives me problems when I raise it straight up-you can follow and see it on my arm lumpy or bumpy at spots (my professional wording LOL)
Any suggestions?
Enjoy the day
Diane

Re: Thursday September 25,2025
Good morning, Everyone!
I slept oh so good!! 9-1/2 hours. Making up for lost Zzzz'z I guess.
LOIS - where were those scissors on sale? Was it just for a day or for the week?
JUDI - sorry about your cancelled date. But now you still have it to look forward to, plus you got to go to your guild meeting. More fun! Glad your outfit is coming together. We're always here to help. My kids call it 'always here to tell us what to do!". lol! It won't take you long to quilt that QOV, will it? Do you trim it after quilting or does the person who binds it do that? It's for such a good cause.
FLO - sorry about the piled up kitchen. It's one thing if it's small stuff, but if he's into things like car engines, I think I'd have to have a talk with him! Bummer about your wrist. I hope it doesn't give you too much trouble. DIANE's advice seems sound to me - lots of wine out on the patio!
DIANE - Maybe try warming your arm on a heating pad, rubbing lanolin oil on, and then doing some simple stretches? Or ask your doctor for some PT appts. They could probably help you.
CHRISS - Glad you got a Denny's breakfast. I wish we had one closer but we do have Original Pancake House. I should suggest Bill take me there one day soon. The food is fine - not over the top great, but good enough for who it's for. And you got burgers out, too! Plus Moose also got food! I'm happy to hear the risk of starvation had been minimized for him. Our boys are always certain they are going to die on the spot if somebody doesn't feed them IMMEDIATELY every time we walk near their food dishes! Getting nails done yesterday was a rare treat for me and it was fun. My hips just won't let me bend to cut my toe nails any more, and letting Bill near my feet with a clippers is risky. But the best fun was our mother/daughter time. I even went with Lara's color choice for herself - a sparkly burgundy color - I never wear dark polish except red at Christmas. I'm startling myself every time I look at my hands.
But it's fun to be different for a few days.
LORI - your friend missed a great opportunity to learn, relax (water color looks relaxing to me) and to be with YOU! You are the busy one with painting, drawing, bridge, dancing, keeping up two houses and two yards, plus quilting. Do you have a project going on now in your sewing room? Or are you taking a break? I think you said you were going to go back to KTVC soon. I like to freeze meals, too, for days when I'm just not feeling it for cooking. Plus we always have a frozen lasagna from Costco on hand.
MARY Q - you ordered another pair of sketchers from Amazon or a pair of dress shoes? I like to wear simple dresses, especially in summer. And I always wear sox and my white Sketchers with them. I prefer to think I look "kicky" rather than 'goofy'. I haven't worn pantyhose in years, though, for some reason I keep two pairs on hand - sheer black and regular color. I can't even get them on! I also have dressy, low-healed sandals, white and black ones. I keep them in their shoeboxes, with the hose, and wear the shoes about once every two years. I hope you get your dishwasher installed soon. Your warranty is wasting away while it sits in the garage! And yes, there are people who LOVE cats! I have one snuggled up against my hip even as I type this. When my 3 kids were home, we had five cats. One for each of us plus a spare for emergencies!
LYN - OK today is trail ride day, right? Be safe and have fun, fun, fun!! Pictures, please!!
JANA - some people have all the luck - a third kitten! Does it have white paws? If so, sounds like a snowshoe kitty. Going to be gorgeous when she grows up! And her name, Daytona, fits right in with "her crowd"! I'm always on the hunt for stray kittens and cats. But I never see any. I'm not sure Foxy is a cat person, but Scottie would be on board - he likes cats. I saw more Christmas stuff at Costco yesterday. Even a couple smallish trees. You better get down there!! We bought a dark green fancy holiday dress for little You Know Who.
VAL- are you going home today? And you'll be back in I.S. in time for Tony's surgery which is Oct 10? Unless things change drastically? Have I got that right? Praying all goes well for him, and you stay safe on the highways as you travel back and forth. And go prepared to sew! There's a lot of potential here for 'down time'.
Yesterday was full - I walked, made a pot of chicken soup, chiropractor, and then Lara and I had our nails done, then she wanted to go into Ulta which is in same shopping center. When we got home, Bill and I delivered the soup to our sick friend, Annette, and got gas and groceries at Costco. Not proud to say WA is officially the highest in the nation for fuel prices. Ugh. Good thing we don't drive a lot of miles.
Today, Lori Across the Road and I are going on a thrifting expedition to see if we can find more junk to buy that we'll end up donating back in a year or so! I think we'll be going to Port Orchard where to two biggest and best stores are. Tonite we'll watch Seahawks play the AZ Cardinals. Supper is yet to be determined, but I'm thinking the salisbury steak and mashed potatoes/gravy I'd planned last week, but Bill changed that menu to real steak that night. If I get time today, I'll cut out the 2 stocking blocks in KTVC. I started to do that yesterday but didn't get very far.
Hoping your day goes well!

Giddy up let's go, trail ride is today. Thankful that it should be about 50° by 9 a.m. and 70° when we finish at 1 p.m.
Lois, I hope Bill's appt goes well.
Judi, So did you make the reservation for next week? Dinner with friends is always nice.
Flo, I hope your wrist doesn't interfere with drinking the wine, ah or tea.
Diane, I'm sorry that you're still having trouble with your arm. Maybe another call to the Dr's office to get an appt would be a good idea.
Amanda and Moose arrived yesterday about the same time as I got back up the Mtn. Kaylyn showed up for dinner, which was a taco/burrito bar. I like doing that because everyone fixes what they want and if it's not right, not my fault.
Stacey just called and is on her way up for the trail ride. We are all looking forward to it.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning!
The sun just jumped into place this morning. Bright sunshine in my window!
Yesterday was a busy day. I didn't need to get Karlie from school. Daniel did that. But today I will pick her up. Daniel has a meeting right when school let's out. Karlie may play here or up at Aunt Sarah's. Her choice. So I spent my day doing my normal Thursday uglies. Almost caught up. I still have two large mirrors, each 4x6 to clean. Then watched my Giants play. The last game of the season, for me to watch. The actual last games are against a team that blackouts the games unless you buy their packages. I have the main MLB package which is great!
Ordered a auger tool that attaches to a drill. It's to dig the hole to plant bulbs. I bought the other day at Costco, several bags of tulips, daffodils, paper whites and crocus. Sarah has one too, so planting should be quick.
My elves are coming to hang my outdoor Christmas lights on the 7th next month. We'll wait to turn them on for awhile.
Yes, the new kitty and Cuda have white pawa, to go along with very faint gray stripes/rust markings too. Hemi is gray tiger striped.
So I'll be sewing later,
Hugs,
Jana

Re: Thursday September 25,2025
Good afternoon from a "kind of" chilly, soggy, SW. Pa....We've now had rain for 2 days and although we really need it, it can dry up and move away....I see the pond across the street is filling up and the ducks are having a ball....I've had a hard time getting on the last couple of days and was about to heave the PC out the window..I got a new laptop but so far, it just sits on the end table looking at me...One of these days, I'll get to it.....
MaryZ, I imagine your body really needed that extra sleep...What a difference it makes when you do get up and feel, almost ready to take on the world...I had lunch with my "golden girl" friends the other day and we all were complaining about waking up too early (me before the paper gets here) ...I can't start my day without that darn paper just because I do the cross word puzzles...But, also had a laugh when you told Flo it would be bad to have car parts piling up....Right now, I have a chrome grille laying on the bed in the guest bedroom...Someone got it to put on one of the trucks, polished it up and there it lays..And, Bill asked about the trucks, the new black one is a Ford 350 and the other smaller one is red and is a Ford 250..Personally, I like the big one...It even has a button you push and the gas and brake pedals come out for short legged people, lol....He also has an older Dodge Durango (his pride and joy) which is pretty nice to drive....
Have to tell you a funny story about panty hose...A few years ago, my best friend's son was getting married and of course, Donna, wanted to look her best and wear panty hose...She pulled out a brand new pair that had been still in the wrapper, pulled them on and by the time she got them up, all she had in her hands was the elastic...The had disintegrated in the package...She made a quick trip to where ever to get a new pair....This is also the gal, who, if someone said, let's go, she was in the car..And on one of those trips, she got to the store and was wearing, 2 right shoes, 1 black and 1 brown....Never a dull moment....
Chriss, it sure sounds like you are making a super recovery.....Love to hear what all you're doing.....
Judi, Love home made apple sauce and one of these days, my sister and I are going to a farmer's market so I can make some, plus see what other goodies just might end up in the car...Your outfit sounds perfect....
Jana, Love, love to hear about the new kittens....I would love to have another couple but Baby Girl would not be happy and I'm thinking it wouldn't be fair to her or the new fur babies... But, I can imagine the fun and joy those 3 are going to bring into that household......
Wish I could "talk" to you all but my lunch break and it's over....One of these days, I'm really going to have a serious talk with my "boss".....Today being "must go day", not sure what dinner might be......
You all have a great rest of the day.................

Maryz, wonderful sleep. I do a lot of things, but I still have time to relax. Crafting is actually relaxing for me. I don't take bridge any longer. If a group ever forms I'll join up, but for now I don't know 3 other people who what to pay weekly.
Lois, I've seen those scissors advertised, but don't know much about them.
Judi, sometimes you just need to put the block down and come back to it later. Have a fun night out.
Diane, maybe you just need to give it more time to heal.
Lyn, I bet you are having a blast on your ride.
Jana, that's an early start to Christmas lights. I guess better to be early than late.
Chriss, Denny's has a good breakfast. I don't even know where one is around here. Most of them closed.
I worked a bit up the street this morning. I posted a few pieces of furniture for sale. Hopefully I can get rid of some of it. If not, it goes in the trash. I packed up some more glasses and kitchen stuff to go to Goodwill. I will take that over tomorrow. I need to make a trip the Trader Joe's for some groceries at some point today, but first a shower. Dinner will be chicken and fried rice.
Have a lovely day.
