Good morning,

We are going up to 83⁰ I can't wait till the 80's disappear.
Yesterday was testing so glad to have that off the list.
Also got the handle of the wagon done .
Today after I finish the wash I want to go upstairs and see if I can get that machine in order so keep your fingers crossed that I don't have to make anymore calls to Grace.

Well that's all the news.
Have a great day.

Good morning. Today would have been dad's 98th BD.

Chriss I cut my hair to just above my waist. When I cut it, it curls up on the ends so looking a bit shorter. But it's okay. My hair grows pretty quickly. Did you go to the market? I don't know the medical laws here but I have decided they need to change. How they put off treatment for a potentially terminal disease is beyond me.

Maryz I am working on sleeping better. I think I am getting 8 hours lately but still broken up. I never want to deal with a referral again! Uhm? I am wondering how you eat the frosting last?

Irish glad to hear from you. Sounds like life is pretty good right now.

Lyn you can send some of your cold weather Las Vegas way. It is 70 right now, before 7 in the morning. October should see some cooler weather. Indian Springs is usually a few degrees cooler than Vegas. I would have loved to go to Rocky Mtn National Park. When I retake this trip I will do it way different.

Lori we did go to Sew Yeah. I found a pattern that will be great for batiks but their selection of batiks was not to my liking. Then I remembered I bought a bunch of batiks at Maryq's so may look through those today. I shouldn't tell but the girl really messed up the order. I got around 5 yds of fabric free. Bought some of the large print KT's for borders. She charged me just enough that I didn't realize the mistake at first. Then when the receipt came in my email is when I realized it.

Jana you know up till this event Tony has had great success with Humana. He has the Gold+ plan (might not be the right word exactly) But this time around what a mess. I am really thinking his age has something to do with it. I have seen that before. Insurance doesn't want to spend the $$$ because chances are they won't live long anyway.

Maryz how are all your owies today? Give Scottie a little petting for me.

Well I will be off now. This one finger typing on my phone really drives me nuts. My finger is too big.

Have a great day everyone and I will update after the dr appointment.

Good morning,

After a sleepless section during my night, I slept hard until 5:30. That is sleeping in to me! But it felt so good!

LOIS - What were you being tested for? I must have missed that. Did you pass? I hope all works well with your machine. I don't want you to have to put the Grace Co on speed dial! I had to pull up The Quilted Snowman to refresh my memory of him so I can follow along in my mind as you work on him. It is a spectacular quilt! And it was so fun to do.

IRISH - love having you back! But Bill needs to know - What kind of truck? (Dodge, Ford, etc.?), What model (1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, etc?), and I need to know what color. Sounds like your friend is in the construction business. I used to always have to drive a truck and make a run for hydraulic fluid for Roy (DH#2). Sounds like your sister's surgeon is well qualified! From the picture on the internet, I think mine is going to be, too. 😜

CHRISS - Sorry your appt got moved off another few weeks. Seems like with surgery as "big" as yours they would want to see you sooner. Maybe it's an insurance thing . . . I think your countertops will be pretty. Especially with gray cabinets. And I think, with care, Formica will last a long time. And I had to laugh when you said it was nice that my parents' countertops matched the floor. I never said the counters were from linoleum left over from THEIR floor - it didn't match at all, so I expect they matched someone else's floor! They built their house themselves about 1940 - it was just a cabin to begin with and they used whatever materials they could scrounge up. They added on a room here and there as years went by. It was an interesting house!

LORI - I hope you are able to capture the kitty and tame her and bring her home to do her purring at your house. And since she's in your parents yard, flowerbeds, etc, maybe her name should be Lily, or Daisy, and Rosie, etc. Though if you found her in my yard, it would have to be Dandelion.

LYN - well, gosh! Now you have more things to do with your Estes house. At one time you mentioned that you'd like to sell it, but Garry wasn't on board with that, and it was his house before you were married. I'm assuming nothing has changed there or is going to change any time soon? I worry about your boiler though the winter. I think we only have two smoke detectors - in the upstairs hallway and one in the hall downstairs right outside our bedroom. (our house is a split level). And I believe they are both blue tooth connected.

JANA - I'm often up at 4am and I am kibitzing with the birds, deer, and skunks! I wondered where and why Daniel was flying. Thanks for the update on that. I hate it when I don't know 'the rest of the story'. Are you getting any sewing done these days? And on which project?

VAL - Today is Tony's doctor day. I hope the ball starts rolling for him. It would be a shock to cut your hair short, but are you ever tempted? It must be hard to take care of, comb out after a shampoo, or even rinse it completely. Do you get a lot of headaches? I LOVE batiks! I have one 40" shelf full of batiks, but I always want more - then I have a hard time bringing myself to use them! And all my owies are doing just great, and they thank you for your interest. I, however, am getting tired of them and wishing they would just go away. Maybe one day soon.

MARY Q - Back in the day, construction beige was everywhere! I like COLOR! I hated when we bought new carpet 11 years ago, that there were about 1,000 colors to choose from - and they were all beige!! Someone said, and I think it's terrific advice - get your countertop quotes using different materials you might be considering. As close as they can come, at least. I can tell you granite is expensive but the price of granite is dependent on the amount of difficulty in extracting it from the mine or quarry it comes from. As it happened, when we bought ours, it was easy extraction from an open quarry so the price was low (for granite). It wasn't much more than the manmade materials.

JUDI - you have been busy since you got home! Did you get your plants all planted yet? The last time I brought home some plants - from my walking buddy across the road from me - I didn't see the seeds or roots of a very invasive (though pretty!) weed that came with. Now I have that weed all over my property! At least it's easy to pull. What is on your agenda for today? Did you get your VC stockings cut out?

FLO - You could hold a dance on that new patio! I'm in! We love dancing! As long as we have country of 50/s/60's music, please.

Yesterday was hang around the house day. I did a little sewing - about 1-1/2 hrs total, broken into 3 sessions, but I got those 8 candy canes finished in the KTVC quilt. Today I have PT and then will cut out the Christmas Cactus blocks. I don't think I will be catching up with Judi any time soon. I have vague plans of at least 6 more quilts I'd like to do, maybe next year. I have two different patterns of Norwegian Sweater quilts. I'd like to do a quilt for each of my three Norwegian (on their dad's side) children. And I'd like to make, per Jana's idea months ago, a wedding quilt top for each of my 3 grandchildren. Plus I want to do whatever else comes along that strikes my fancy. Lots of plans - and no lack of sew-jo. I just can't sit or stand for long to cut, sew, and iron. But that's OK. I have enough to keep me as busy as I want to be for now. And there's always my Cathedral Windows to keep me into quilting when I just need to sit.

Fall is definitely here. Leaves are starting to turn and we are having to use the patio warmer in the evenings out on the deck. The party is almost over for this year. I think supper tonite is going to be salisbury steak, french fries, and salad. The HOH will be happy with that menu!

Happy Thursday, and prayers going with Tony to the doctor today.

Good morning!

A very lovely day here. Nice and warm. Now if we could bottle it for future uses, would be great! I slept very well too!

Yesterday was productive in the Batt Cave. I did get the printer to cooperate and printed out the instructions for JA. Found some old plastic sleeves to slide the papers in and a binder too. Then I was able to identify all the kit fabrics and label them. So today I can start the first block, which is the big center one. Sarah is coming over this afternoon to sew. She is doing her applique by hand and me, by machine.

Matt is coming out, maybe too. The yard maintenance company we use, owner, , is friends with Matt, in his Ward. Matt isn't pleased at how the crew follows the contract. Us too, but at least the yard is maintained. So Matt is seeing what can be corrected. The yard company is large and has many crews.

Need a run to Costco. Milk is desperately needed! Will look and see about decorations too.

Not much more here,
Hugs,
Jana

Good morning it has been a troubling morning, I forgot the latest password of the email account, I have had this account for many years and It is always up on my laptop. When we went up north i didnt open my laptop and yahoo shut off my account , Now it will not let me change my password becuase somehow a phone number i dont have is listed as a verification number I have never had this number, so i cannot get into the account, SOOO I tried opening up a new account and nope they arent letting me do that iether, the solution is to PAY them to talk me through the process of fixing it, I dont even know how much that costs but it says you need to have your drivers license and credit card available and Im not going to do it,,,So now the places I have my email listed are floating about out there and I cannot get any of them, Including the site where i have ordered and am waiting for notification that said items are ready to ship So if anyone knows how to soldve this problem I sure would like to know,,,thanks,
i have cookie dough chilling in the fridge and we are having corn chowder for supper..with a cheesy focatia
I will head up to the sewing room as soon as all that is done....
Hope you all hve a great day XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ..

Good morning Girls

With a little bit of luck.... it won't be so stinkin' hot here today and I can open up the windows again!!

Lois... Sure hope you are able to get your Grace machine all fixed up and running really well! I'd hate for your "client" to get angry with your that her quilt isn't done on time!

Valerie... Did I read that you got a little bonus fabric from the warehouse? Usually they just pile up the 1/2 price stuff, maybe she missed a piece in your pile. Not much you can do from there, so I would say just enjoy and maybe someday pay forward a good deed---which you are already doing by being there for Tony!

Maryz... Yup, I'm getting a couple different quotes on counter tops. High Def Laminate and Quartz. The granite around here is mostly dark--browns, dark beiges etc--since it comes right from the ground, you pretty much have to go pick out your piece. There are granite places all around this area--- St. Cloud is often called "granite city" with lots of quarries in the area. But since Quartz is man-made it's a little easier to find the colors I'm looking for NOT BEIGE!! Cost will be the determining factor here! What a great idea... to start wedding quilts now!! Would you just keep the top set aside or get it all quilted?

Jana.... You do patterns like I do!! Print them out and put them in page protectors in a binder---hence why I buy binders in bulk from Amazon! My "linen" closet in my guest bathroom, contains no linens... only several binders full of patterns! As does the cupboards built in my garage!

Judi... Oh my gosh!!! What a hassle!!!! You can get yourself a new email at GMAIL, but that sure wouldn't solve you problem of all the Yahoo ones out there!!! I have AOL--which I pay for every month---probably one of the last few people on earth with AOL. But when I think about the hassle of changing EVERYTHING to my other gmail address... it's over whelming!! How expensive is it to have the help you fix it? Would it be worth it?

Lyn.... I'd gladly trade you the 53* for the 89* I had here yesterday!!! I'm ready for sweatshirts!

Lori.... Terriyaki Chicken? How do you make yours? I made that for supper the other night too--just chicken with bottled sauce and rice on the side. I think there's enough left over for tonite!

Irish.... You have a Kevin too? My Kevin is a Golf Pro--so he too is always up very early in the morning! We probably have matching hair-do's. I got mine cut a couple weeks ago and MAN did it get short! It turned out to be more like Jamie Curtis than I planned!! A beautician I knew once told me " the difference between a bad haircut and a good one.... is about 2 weeks"

Chriss.... Did Lowes come and measure your counter top? Is this the first time for just an estimate or are they coming for a final measure to make the counter tops? I'll be anxious to hear what mine come out to and I know that laminate will be so much less than quartz. When I put Quartz in my house back in 2020, I had a chunk of retirement $ from my job.... That's all gone now, so I'm on my own. I might even check with my bank and see what interest etc is on a Home Improvement Loan! Just what I need, another payment book!  (do they even do those any more?)

Didn't seem to get a whole lot accomplished yesterday, tho I did work on the Christmas Quilt a bit. Tried making a new little zipper bag that I saw on line... but after I got one done, I decided NO WAY am I doing this one again!!! Not sure what I'll get done today either. The Christmas quilt is a little more challenging that I thought it would be---sewing lots of 2.5" squares into rows that go around each block..... so it's laid out on my work table in the kitchen and I'm sewing it on the FW on the dining room table! IF I get the whole thing together, I'll post a picture!

For now I better get to work... crank up the music, grab some more coffee!

Wishing you all a very wonderful day!

Morning
Maryz, you like our kind of music. Come on over!
Still trying to get piles of man stuff moved for company. They will be here on the 28th. It's Joe's younger brother, so I'm not too worried, but emptying back bedroom of crud is alot.

Good morning. I love days like today. the sky looks like rain is coming.

Today is 3 weeks since my surgery. The only thing that I am unable to do is blow my nose. I am so very thankful that I had this done and that I have no issues with healing.

I've decided I'm not doing the Smokey Bear walk this weekend. It's two miles and I am not sure I can do two miles. I told my dad and let him know I probably could do point two miles. He said it's all about where you put the decimal point.

MSQC is starting a free block of the month. Freedom Finale or something like that. It's pretty cool. I want to get back into my sewing room.

Lois, we are also supposed to see the mid 80's today. hope your grace is working for you.

Valerie, I eat the frosting last. I dig out and eat the cake part until all that's left is that glorious frosting. How much longer do you think you might be there? I bet Tony appreciates having someone in his corner, medical stuff can be exhausting. Which pattern did you buy?

Maryz, fall is here off and on. I do have a yard plum full of leaves. I'm not going to rake them all just yet, and I am not lugging the blower. I like salisbury steak but never think of it. My grandparents also built their house with whatever they found. But their pay as you go life gave them no mortgage. Sorry you didn't sleep well, hoping tonight is the opposite.

Jana, I think I would do the applique by machine too. Enjoy your girls day. Can't think of anything I need from Costco so don't have a list for you.

Judi, frustrating about the email. Do you have the password on a different device, phone, tablet? I agree about not giving anyone your drivers license or credit card, sounds fishy to me. I had the same issue after Jerry died with Norton. He had it set up using his info and I shut off his phone before changing the Norton. I didn't have his phone number to reset the password. I had to open a new account. And now, because Costco is in his name, when I asked about moving it to my name it seems that they need a death certificate. I will just leave it like it is.

Maryq, Lowes gave me a rough estimate and yesterday measured and will give me an estimate based on their measurements. The guy was here for about an hour measuring and lasering things. I measured it at 53.3 sq ft. I am hoping they came close so that the estimate isn't way off. I will be glad to have this project done and might tackle the bathrooms next. I also want to replace the rest of my windows. I have some money coming by the end of the year that will pay for it. I am trying not to touch my IRA, and except for my car I have been successful.

I don't have much needing to be done today, maybe I will make a tuna salad and some deviled eggs. I have tons of boiled eggs, really thought I'd be eating more than I am, but I guess not. Tuna will be dinner.

You girls have a marvy day
