Good morning.

LYN - our weather here is 60* this morning, going to 67* later this afternoon with 80% rain forecast to begin in a few hours. But we're to be 83* come Tuesday. Silly weather! I'm happy to share with you if you don't like yours. I hope things work out with the MH and it's all repaired and ready to go - Oct 14th! How is your sister's quilt coming along. Do you think you'll be able to go visit her?

CHRISS - did Dad make it yesterday? And what kind of pizza did he bring you?? I've been wondering what your favorite is ever since you were still in the hospital. What's the big plan for your day?

MQ - I just looked at your weather. Better keep those sweatshirts and sweaters out a little longer. You've got 80's for next 3 days. But not too bad. And maybe some rain coming next week. Our rain started through the night. Yay, rain! Was the shower nice? Did she get some fun gifts? I haven't been to a bridal shower in at least 30 years. When I finally come to visit, hopefully next fall, don't pick up all those messes for me! I want to see everything you're working on! Sorry about the frogging. At least, when it's eyelashes, it's easier to take out.

JANA - I'm with you on the big ugly Halloween decorations! We have a fall wreath on our door and a wooden pumpkin our friend Bob made us years ago. And a pot of silk fall colored mums. We don't do the yard any more than that for any holiday. Just lights that are there all year long. Our Costco is pretty much done with Halloween. We're all about Christmas now. Everything but the trees and cards is out.

VAL - I'm sorry it's so difficult getting care for Tony. Is it the hospitals/doctors or is it his insurance that is denying him? Well, maybe having a house to clean is kind of a blessing to give you something to do. I hope you find a quilt shop to at least wander around in. Maybe they have open sewing with machines available . . . and fabric and patterns for you to buy?

JUDI - This is your last day? What's the plan? I hope the weather is spectacular vacation weather just for you!

LORI - what's the Lori Story for today?

I felt so good yesterday. I finished my 3 evergreen tree blocks for VC, and I was out in the yard while Bill yanked a big rotten stump out with the tractor and hauled it into the woods to dump. It had become a big ant nest so he killed the ants and now the stump is gone, too. I carefully raked up a little of the crumbly debris. My back isn't feeling so great today so I think I"ll lay low, watch Seahawk game, maybe start cutting out some candy cane blocks, and work on CW's. Such big plans! QIAD has a very cool pattern called Limelight on sale today. It really tempts me. But I have so many patterns I’ve bought over the years that have tempted me and are still in my patterns to do file so I am resisting. I think.

Supper is going to be grilled chicken, rice, and salad.

Have a great Sunday!

Update. This just in-I succumbed to temptation and ordered the Limelight pattern by Cluck Cluck Sew. Q has it on sale today for $7.50, free shipping. It looks complicated but I think it’s pretty easy. They show it in R/W/B but I could see it done in any holiday or seasonal fabric as well as 30’s, CW, batik, etc.

Good morning!

Very chilly overnight, Down to 54. Getting to the in between temps, ac or heat. Snow is in the forecast too, only in the tops of the mountains. I know, I'm weird, hopefully we'll get a big heavy winter this year.

Yesterday I did a few pages from Lyn's book. My little robot vacuum was having issues, throwing codes that something was stuck underneath. Nope nothing. So I went troubleshooting for symptoms and fixes. Nothing usable came up. So I did my own troubleshooting and realized I had changed the rotating brush arms and they were causing the issues. So I realized they were interfering by being too long, so they got a haircut. Voile, Yoohoodi works again and no code issues. Yoohoodi was tripping over his own feet, Then , my replacement stove grates arrived. Only one of two,, but you can't put new on a dirty stove,, so I cleaned the stove.. My stove is gas on the cooktop and has a electronic spark to turn on the gas burner to light. It has, one that has been continuously clicking, even when the burner is lit and running. Mr G says that was causing a problem, so again I went searching for answers. Mr G got out the paper manual from our file, but it was not much help. One suggestion was, the ignitor was dirty, fouled with carbon. So I got out a piece of sandpaper and sanded off all the carbon deposits. Voile, again, no more clicking and the burners all work great. Mr G supervised ovr my shoulder. He no longer has much dexterity in his fingers, so he kibitized as I worked. He helped clean the tile backsplash for me. Scrubbing bubbles spray works great on tile, and wooden baseboards. Ethan loves the spray for when he wipes down the baseboards here. So now two for two!

Joseph and Ethan came and finally took the big heavy boards we used for the party back to Matt's house. Those boards were just plain in the way. Now I have things back where they should be. So to say the least, my Batt Cave didn't see me..

Church is in little while. Music is easy and I know well. Tonight is dinner with the family, at Matt's. Lasagna, salad and bread. So no cooking for me to dirty up stove! 😀

Do something fun!

Hugs,
Jana

Oh, I get to watch my 9'ers too, I'm taping the game, it's on during church time.

Maryz - cute pattern, but it's doesn't look that hard - it's looks to be a simple variation of courthouse steps. You can handle anything,

Good Morning Girls

Yup, think I'll be turning on the AC today!! It's delightful right now, but going to get HOT! I set the thermostat at about 76*--when I hear it kick in, then I close up the windows. Kind of muggy here too, so I may have to set thermostat a little lower!!

Maryz... SO glad to hear you had a great busy day yesterday! Are you "paying for it" today? With a football game to watch today--it's a perfect day to take it easy. The shower was lovely---tho my poor bride had one of those big boots on her foot--she fell and very badly sprained her ankle! So she is hoping to be able to walk down the aisle without it. Two more weeks in the boot for sure--wedding is October 18th! I got to see and hold little Norah and of course my darling sister! All the eyelashes are out and I'm hoping to finish re-quilting today. As soon as that is done and I get the binding on, I'm going to try to get borders on my Flamingo. And THEN to top it off---a friend showed me a really cute craft idea!!! :o I might have to dig out some scraps to try that!!!

Lois... Does your fabric warehouse have a web site? I'm curious how yours works compared to mine. Did you see the picture of Valerie and I together that I posted----that fabric behind us in the photo is all like costume fabric with beads and sequins etc! Can you cut your own at your place?

Jana.... I think you can almost find anything you need to know on Youtube!!! And now, sometimes when you buy things-like light fixtures or door knobs, they don't include directions anymore---just a QR to watch a video on your phone!!!

Chriss.... I'm so happy for you that you are getting your pizza!!! For a minute I was tempted to check out the local pizza places to you and order you one online! Every once in a while I just get a craving for a good old fashioned pizza with pepperoni, green & black olives and lots of cheese!!! To heck with all the carbs---Enjoy !!!

Lyn... Larry's HOA will let him build on to his house? Wow!! lucky guy!!! Here we can't even paint our front doors a different color!!! I want a red front door and it's not allowed---though I don't think there are any rules about covering it with red fabric!!! You're not anxious to get to Texas and play in your sewing cabin? Man.... that's where I'd sure want to be !

Judi... You might be on your way this morning so I wish you safe travels--- and an easy job of unpacking etc. I saw your beautiful photo of Lake Superior last night--I saved it and now it is the wall paper on my phone!

Well, if I'm ever going to get that baby quilted done, I better push myself away from computer and get busy. I've watched all the news I can stand this morning and think while I sew and stitch I'll send a lot of prayers for those mean and ugly spirited people of the US--that God soften their hearts and bring them into His light! Hope you will join me.

Wishing you all a most wonderful day.

Good day we are here for our last day I was up
At sun rise reading g a bit made bacon and scrambled eggs with whole grain toast did the dishes Ken offered but I did it
Yesterday was a good day here I did Mai dry ( the rick basement in this cabin is rather scarey the basement looks like it was carved out of solid rock the washer and dryer are looked up right at the basement stairs After that we went to a nice restaurant and had supper in Copper Harbor We drove up Brockway Mt a twisty turny road to the upper most tip of Michigan it is as far north as you can go by car and there were maybe 20 people sitting facing the sunset and waiting for a very spectacular sun set I posted a picture on Facebook
We came home ( we would have waited for the star show but driving that twisty turny road in the dark was a bit too intimidating for us When we got back here the Mikey way wa visible and a million stars and planets Ken got to see some northern lights too they were faint but visible All the boxes of this trip have been checked off we will leave tomorrow morning and head towards home a stop at a Michigan
Spring famous for a 40+ deep clear water pool so clear you can see the bottom we have never been there so that will be another check off If you want to see what it looks like it’s called Kitch-iti-Kippi
Lyn we sit here and watch large freighters so by on the lake I now ask Ken what the name of the ships are ( he looks them up) and he might say “no smoking” now too
Well that’s all for me I will
Pack up some today and load the car with what we won’t need making chicken tenders from scratch with fried potatoes and salad for supper and the rest of my to
E will be stitching and reading this has been the most enjoyable time
Hope you have a wonderful
Day XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOO

Good morning. Happy Sunday, or as my son thinks it should be called Sonday. but he's a brat.

I got my pizza. Yesterday the parents came up, brought me a pizza and we just sat around the kitchen table for a few hours. Dad told stories as he always does, some were new, some were old and I listened intently. Judy mostly played solitaire on her phone. It was a great day.

While I was in the hospital dad came and got the chair I was refinishing for Elliott. He painted it. I have a few spots to touch up and it will be done. I also need to gather the pictures of each generation with that chair and type up the story behind it. It turned out really nice.

Maryz, I like that limelight pattern too. And it is free shipping. I'll think about it. Glad today is a rest day for you, sounds like you got bit by the energy bug yesterday. Nice to feel good enough to do something.

Lois, in town they are redoing the mall. For so long it has just been an eyesore. They plan to add a Burlington and a store called Five and below, not sure what that is. happy hair cut day

Jana, lasagna at Matt's sounds good, and if you hint you might get a togo plate and not have to cook tomorrow either. Glad the stove is as good as new.

Maryq, I appreciate that you were willing to have a pizza sent to me but no one delivers here. This pizza was a combo, I also like a veggie pizza. I may need to turn on the a/c this coming week too, we will see mid 90's.

Judi, I have been enjoying your pictures on FB. Sounds like a perfect trip, safe travels home

So check this out. Usually the anesthesia person bills separately and doesn't take insurance as a payment. Cali has passed a law that says, if the person doing anesthesia in a hospital that takes your insurance the anesthesia person has to accept what the insurance will allow and not bill you more.

I have no plans for today, I don't even remember if I thawed anything out for dinner, so no clue what that will be. Guess I will just wing it.

You all have a fab day,
Chriss

Good morning

Well kitchen is a bit more in order. Still need to wipe down appliances (have no idea why he has so many). But the stove, counters and table are clean. DH is doing the back bathroom. I will work some more in the kitchen after my rest. I am also washing the rags.

I did get to go to Christmas Goose yesterday. It is my favorite quilt shop here. Got some fabric to make a quilt for Tony's sister. Also got me a very expensive $66.50 pattern. It is meant to be a BOM. It is called Conestoga Crossing. I will make it out of my 1800's. Some day.

Tony decided to go to the fight last night and now he's wiped out today. I kinda thought that would happen. Started to tell him maybe he shouldn't go but then decided against it. You never know what tomorrow will bring.

Well time for me to get dressed, take the meds for the day. I am going to go up to the little store here and see.what they have that I need. Have a great day everyone.

Thanks MaryZ, But your weather isn't much better than here, it's 50° and rain off and on.

Slow going on the sewing. I had to deal with house insurance for this house. State Farm doubled what we paid last year. Garry wanted me to check USAA. I read some reviews and started to fill out a form and said the heck with it for now. Went online and set up monthly auto pay for State Farm. I will get back to it during the week. I went to cut the white fabric and didn't like how thin it felt. So, I jumped in the Jeep and went to the quilt shop in town. Picked up a better fabric. It's washed and dried and ready to iron and cut.

Jana, Good job getting everything fixed.

Judi, It sounds like y'all have had a great R & R. I hope you get to see the Northern Lights again.

Valerie, I hope Tony appreciates you and DH cleaning his house. That's a neat pattern.

Today will be a repeat of yesterday, mostly. I will try my hand at making fresh salsa with some of the tomatoes my DB gave me. So we'll probably have taco salad for dinner.

Mary, Mary, Maryz, did the doctor tell you to take it easy? The hardest thing for Bill to conquer with his bad back, was realizing he couldn't do a lot of things. It's very frustrating. Yard work is a big no for him. I saw that Limelight pattern and thought I could make it without the pattern. I certainly don't need any more patterns, but I will probably buy them anyway. Hope your back is a little better this afternoon.

Lois, I too need a haircut. Maybe this week.

Jana, sometimes our stove will keep clicking if the senor gets wet. Usually after we clean it. I just unplug it until it dries out. Glad you were able to fix the stove and the vacuum.

Maryq, I too will have to turn on the A/C again tomorrow. It's supposed to be in the 90's for a few more days. We do have one more week of summer and it's hanging around. I too use Youtube to fix things and watch how to put them together. It's such a great tool. Yes, the vile people are rearing their heads.

Judi, I've enjoyed your trip with you. The sunset was beautiful. I don't think I would want to drive an unfamiliar twisty road in the dark either.

Chriss, Yay for pizza. I've been cleaning out cupboards here and up the street. I have the 2 hall closets done. Don't know if I want to tackle the bedroom closet. Maybe I'll start on kitchen drawers instead. I have been trying to eliminate things from the kitchen too. How nice that your dad painted the chair for you. It will be a wonderful gift for the little guy.

Valerie, how long will you stay in Las Vegas? I like that pattern you bought. It's very pretty.

Lyn, sounds like you had a good time yesterday. Fresh salsa sounds yummy.

I keep seeing the new pattern by Riley Blake called "Independence." I may have to get that kit. It's calling to me. I spent the day cleaning, and sorting out things in cabinets here and up the street. I like when things get done. Dinner will be orange chicken with rice and fresh zucchini.

Have a lovely evening.
