Thursday 8/21

Post by WeSignificant » Thu Aug 21, 2025 6:12 am

Good morning, today is Open Sew and Slow Stitch. I will run the vacuum before that and maybe a few other things. Mostly I rested yesterday. Didn't feel particularly well and had the dental appointment. One more appointment on Saturday and then that is it until after our trip. We did get a call last night and truck will be ready on Monday. Hoping that doesn't change. DH can take the truck for camper shell on Friday the 28th. That's cutting things close but should be okay.

Maryz i did get the Mammo results, they are negative Wish I had somewhere else to stage but this is a small house and it's all in the living room. Except clothes, they are still hanging in the closet. I have found a couple of garment bags so are putting mine in those. Wow, Scotty is big for a sheltie. I had the permanent crown put on yesterday and will have the cleaning on Saturday.

Maryq I think we paid around $1000 to $1200 for our dishwasher. It is very quiet, cleans very well. We did have to pick ours up but contractor who was remodeling the kitchen installed it.

Judi could you please sent some rain our way? We are having the hottest days of the summer right now and could really use a cool down. September 22nd can't come soon enough. I may be at MSQC around that date. Looks like QIAD has that Jane Austin quilt on sale right now. No Valerie, you do not need another project!

Jana always pays to pay attention. Wish Mr G was doing better, will continue prayers for him. Yes, we can be a bad influence on each other.

Chriss did Judy's hair get done? Is your recliner fixed? Schools are starting different days here depending on private, charter or pubic. I think the charters started yesterday. The young girl who sells up cupcakes is going to a charter this year. I say a little prayer for her everyday. She really wants to be successful in life and has good plans but doesn't seem like a lot of support. Glad you are heeding what the doctor said.

Lori LOL, I think I will start that same method. There have been a lot of obstacles, not sure why. Hoping they are over though but still not sure about DBIL. His vascular surgery appointment is the 28th. Still no word from the GI guy. I did suggest maybe he should call that office and inquire.

Diane stay safe, I am thinking my DS is far enough inland, she may get some effect but it shouldn't be bad. She is in Virginia. I think about 4 hours inland.

Lyn please wave to DS while you are there. So sorry to hear about the RV park. You would think the owners would want to please to have repeat customers but maybe not. I will have to write those places down and see if I can fit them in. Maybe if not too far DS can take us while we are there?

Well I must get to getting if I am to accomplish anything before leaving. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Good morning. It's going to be a scorcher today but look at that beautiful sunrise. The sun is still behind the mountain but is shining. I can see it brightening up a baby blue sky and turning some white wispy clouds into a goldish color. I love morning time.

Yesterday I took Judy to get her hair done. Trent, who has cut hair for men and women forever followed in the footsteps of his dad, the barber and his mom the hair salon lady. Trent's family and my family have been good friends for 5 generations. Trent's dad gave my dad and my son their first haircut. Judy only looked in the mirror twice on the way home, a 20-minute drive, she had forgotten she had her hair done.

While us women folk were out getting gussied up dad stayed here and fixed my recliner. My dad can always figure out what he needs to do to fix things. I brought home some sandwiches, and we had lunch.

Today I go in for my pre-op stuff. My surgery has been scheduled for Monday. This all started mid-May and 3 months later is going to happen. I will be so glad to have this done and over with. I don't know what time my surgery will be, they will call me the day before to tell me when to be there. My son has the day off and will get me there.

Slim, the man who takes my garbage will come check on Moose daily and take care of my watering. Dad will be in and out, he says he has odd jobs he wants to do. Slim and dad have each other's numbers and will be "on call" if needed.

I think I've covered all my bases. Asking for help is not easy for me. When Jerry died, I tried to do it all myself, while that sort of worked it would have been smarter to accept help. I'm learning that accepting help is necessary and I will accept help and ask for help for this.

It's been a tough couple of years. Lots of ups and downs. I will be thankful when this surgery is done, and I am all healed up and can get back to life. The cat scan showed a couple of things that I will address after this surgery, I should be good to go.

Funny, I often have read that you gals are going on vacation and clean your house real good before you leave. I always wondered why. Now I am wanting to clean my house. I get it.

Valerie, I am so glad your truck is going to be ready. I guess that means the turbo is fine, huge blessing. I'm sure they checked everything out and you are safe to travel. It will be nice to have a camper shell so you can lock things inside. I'm excited for your trip and am glad it's going to happen. Order the Jane Austin, you will need something to do when you get home. Or you could buy it at MSQC and call it a souvenir. If Judi sends you some rain it will need to come past me first. I really hope she can do it, I'd love a splash of rain.

Dinner tonight will involve rotisserie chicken and perhaps broccoli. But now I need to get in the shower and move my buns. Have a marvy day,
Chriss
