It's supposed to be a pretty nice day today. Good thing because we have to go to a gathering of all of my SIL, Terry's, family, and it's a BIG family. The menfolk usually gather outside around a campfire and the women stay inside. This party is so all can meet Gene. Her main dish is pulled pork so I made homemade applesauce to take. But the good news is - I think I can get another NYB block made before we go.

CHRISS - I'm so happy that Elliott finally got his tiny tushie in gear and came over the river and through the woods to Gramma's house! Two teeth! They grow up fast don't they! I think I read last week that you wanted to listen to something while you work outside. I use the Libby app (Libby is short for library) on my phone to download audiobooks from the library. I listen to books while I garden, cook, clean, sew, embroider, etc. I only use earbuds when Bill is nearby, watching a TV show - like in our trailer. Otherwise, I just put my phone in my pocket and let it play. And this is GREAT (with the buds) when you are having dental work done. And no, our truck STILL is not fixed after the accident. AAA insurance is the WORST! It's been almost 4 months and we are still waiting on them. They don't answer messages. The motto of the insurance industry is to delay, deny, defend. And they've got the first one down pat!! They did pay for our new hitch because we had to have that installed to be able to get home from Texas, but so far, nothing else.
TINA - was it a special occasion that Holly took you to Italian supper last night or "just because"? So sweet of her no matter why! What did you have? What did Frankie have? I know he doesn't really like Italian. It's our favorite.
LORI - things will all fall into place in good time. Are you planning a service of any kind for your dad? Do you have siblings that can come help? I hope you get that needle/thread into some fabric soon. I wouldn't want you to go into withdrawals.
DIANE - thanks for the warning about Joann's gift cards, but I don't have any. You might be thinking of another Mary? I've been by two Joann's last week, but opted to skip it completely. I have too much already and don't care to wait in long cutting or checking lines to buy more. I'm glad Joe got his infusion.
JUDI - you are too funny! You may as well laugh about paying. Better than crying! We had to pay a lot, too.
LYN - Two more days and you hit the road - albeit the short road for now - back to the house. It will be fun to be able to finally set up your sewing cabin. Is that where your quilting machine will live? What day to you leave to go for your annual MH's check-up? I like to keep track of all my peeps!
JANA - glad your leg is back to normal, though it doesn't sound like 'normal' is much fun either! Karlie will be excited to fly. Has she flown before?
MARY Q - Both Gene's and Terry's kids are on board with their marriage. I am, too. Terry's boys (nearly 60 yrs old!) call Gene "Uncle Daddy". It's just kind of weird, is all. We're all very happy for them and we'll adjust. I told Bill we should give them a joint name - "Gerry" - to avoid those awkward moments of calling them by wrong names. After 60+ years of Gene & Marge and Jim & Terry it's bound to happen. And I most certainly remember meatless Fridays. Though I never heard that 'help the fishermen' story. We were never required by the Church to eat fish. We just couldn't eat meat. In fact, as kids we rarely ate fish on Fridays but often had mac & cheese or pancakes. I also remember when Mass was in Latin. I can still recite some things in Latin, though I took it in high school, too, so that helps my memory a little. In nomini patri es sprititus santos. I love your warehouse! You are more organized than some QS's I've seen! I'll take three totes of yellows and purples, please.

LOIS - how goes the neck/no painting at your house? Has your DH gone to his chiro for his neck? Pillows will throw my neck out - too fat or too thin. They have to be juuust riiiight.
Yesterday I was able to finish two NYB blocks. Then we went over to "Gerry's" for pizza with Gene, Terry, and Terry's kids. I also spent a lot of time in the trailer - making the bed, cleaning out under the bathroom sink where we had a leak, and stocking with new foods. I made lists of what's in there, what needs to go in, and what to buy for our upcoming camping trip. Bill has to put the hitch back into the truck so we can pull our fifth-wheel but not until after he picks up "Gerry's" new recliners at Lazy Boy next week and delivers them to the trucking terminal. We were hoping the pick-up would be repaired by now, but it's not so now it has to wait until after Easter. The hitch weighs 250# so it's no small thing taking it in and out. We have to use the tractor to lift it. And it will have to come out again when it finally does go into the shop for repairs.
Today I hope to get another block finished. Then we go to the party this afternoon. I've also been gradually purging my closet and dresser drawers. This past week I've gotten rid of 3 large bags of clothes, jackets, and purses. And I have more to go this week. It feels good!
Wishing everyone blessings today!
