Good morning, Everyone,

It's supposed to be a pretty nice day today. Good thing because we have to go to a gathering of all of my SIL, Terry's, family, and it's a BIG family. The menfolk usually gather outside around a campfire and the women stay inside. This party is so all can meet Gene. Her main dish is pulled pork so I made homemade applesauce to take. But the good news is - I think I can get another NYB block made before we go. :D

CHRISS - I'm so happy that Elliott finally got his tiny tushie in gear and came over the river and through the woods to Gramma's house! Two teeth! They grow up fast don't they! I think I read last week that you wanted to listen to something while you work outside. I use the Libby app (Libby is short for library) on my phone to download audiobooks from the library. I listen to books while I garden, cook, clean, sew, embroider, etc. I only use earbuds when Bill is nearby, watching a TV show - like in our trailer. Otherwise, I just put my phone in my pocket and let it play. And this is GREAT (with the buds) when you are having dental work done. And no, our truck STILL is not fixed after the accident. AAA insurance is the WORST! It's been almost 4 months and we are still waiting on them. They don't answer messages. The motto of the insurance industry is to delay, deny, defend. And they've got the first one down pat!! They did pay for our new hitch because we had to have that installed to be able to get home from Texas, but so far, nothing else.

TINA - was it a special occasion that Holly took you to Italian supper last night or "just because"? So sweet of her no matter why! What did you have? What did Frankie have? I know he doesn't really like Italian. It's our favorite.

LORI - things will all fall into place in good time. Are you planning a service of any kind for your dad? Do you have siblings that can come help? I hope you get that needle/thread into some fabric soon. I wouldn't want you to go into withdrawals.

DIANE - thanks for the warning about Joann's gift cards, but I don't have any. You might be thinking of another Mary? I've been by two Joann's last week, but opted to skip it completely. I have too much already and don't care to wait in long cutting or checking lines to buy more. I'm glad Joe got his infusion.

JUDI - you are too funny! You may as well laugh about paying. Better than crying! We had to pay a lot, too.

LYN - Two more days and you hit the road - albeit the short road for now - back to the house. It will be fun to be able to finally set up your sewing cabin. Is that where your quilting machine will live? What day to you leave to go for your annual MH's check-up? I like to keep track of all my peeps!

JANA - glad your leg is back to normal, though it doesn't sound like 'normal' is much fun either! Karlie will be excited to fly. Has she flown before?

MARY Q - Both Gene's and Terry's kids are on board with their marriage. I am, too. Terry's boys (nearly 60 yrs old!) call Gene "Uncle Daddy". It's just kind of weird, is all. We're all very happy for them and we'll adjust. I told Bill we should give them a joint name - "Gerry" - to avoid those awkward moments of calling them by wrong names. After 60+ years of Gene & Marge and Jim & Terry it's bound to happen. And I most certainly remember meatless Fridays. Though I never heard that 'help the fishermen' story. We were never required by the Church to eat fish. We just couldn't eat meat. In fact, as kids we rarely ate fish on Fridays but often had mac & cheese or pancakes. I also remember when Mass was in Latin. I can still recite some things in Latin, though I took it in high school, too, so that helps my memory a little. In nomini patri es sprititus santos. I love your warehouse! You are more organized than some QS's I've seen! I'll take three totes of yellows and purples, please.

LOIS - how goes the neck/no painting at your house? Has your DH gone to his chiro for his neck? Pillows will throw my neck out - too fat or too thin. They have to be juuust riiiight.

Yesterday I was able to finish two NYB blocks. Then we went over to "Gerry's" for pizza with Gene, Terry, and Terry's kids. I also spent a lot of time in the trailer - making the bed, cleaning out under the bathroom sink where we had a leak, and stocking with new foods. I made lists of what's in there, what needs to go in, and what to buy for our upcoming camping trip. Bill has to put the hitch back into the truck so we can pull our fifth-wheel but not until after he picks up "Gerry's" new recliners at Lazy Boy next week and delivers them to the trucking terminal. We were hoping the pick-up would be repaired by now, but it's not so now it has to wait until after Easter. The hitch weighs 250# so it's no small thing taking it in and out. We have to use the tractor to lift it. And it will have to come out again when it finally does go into the shop for repairs.

Today I hope to get another block finished. Then we go to the party this afternoon. I've also been gradually purging my closet and dresser drawers. This past week I've gotten rid of 3 large bags of clothes, jackets, and purses. And I have more to go this week. It feels good!

Wishing everyone blessings today!

Morning Maryz and all to follow,
Maryz, when we moved to Missouri, we got AAA insurance...it was horrible. No one would help us, couldn't get a correction on bill, they charged us for a pool when we didn't have one. After 6 months we got new insurance...and left AAA.
Today is rest for tomorrow and bake banana muffins as a snack for the kids.

Good morning It is cloudy and dreary and wet outside...
Today I will go out with one of my grand daughters,,,when they get their own place it is tradition for gramma to take them shopping,,(Also when they have their first baby too) so Sarah age 26 is fledging and I will take her to get what ever she needs for her place..Roommate has a lot of furniture so it might be just kitchen and bathroom stuff and some groceries...but then we will go to lunch,,,I have 6 grandaughters so i try to get with them when ever I can or at least text them. 4 are grown...and then there is Sophia,,,Grampa took her driving yesterday and she is doing well...Cheyenne in Maine is driving now and I think has a part time job.so we dont see her in the summer like we used to...we text and call...when a 16 yr old has time.. 3 grandsons are a little harder to see,,,One in college one working misnights and one is here almost every other day at least but mostly to hang out with PA!
I finished block 3 and will start no 4 today, I picked a strawberry pattern with blossoms,,,i little less complicated,,
I do have 3 friendship blocks to sew for a guild lady,,,each meeting they draw someones name and that person has to decide what blocks each participating member has to make...you supply what ever is needed and all the members make you a block. or blocks,,,when you get them you might have enough to put together a quilt top...or at least many of them. Kind of like our swaps///
well I need to get my self in gear and strip the bed,,( Ken will re make it per our agreement ;)
Hope you all have a great day,,,XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good morning!

The rain has moved on for today, but will be back again shortly. Daniel did get home yesterday, between drops. Karlie has flown once before, and even taken the train.

Church is a bit later. The music are ones I know, so we're OK there. May get down to the Batt Cave today. My leg isn't too bad, so I can do the stairs. Going down is fine, it's coming back up that's the problem.

Not much new here.

Hugs,
Jana

Good day to all.

MaryZ, Enjoy the gathering. Yes, the HQS16 will be in the Cabin, possibly in the middle. I had the electrician put an outlet in the ceiling. We'll leave a day or two after Easter. I'm deciding if we should take a different route that would allow us to stop and see friends that aren't coming here anymore. I'll get the map out at the house. I too was raised in the Catholic Church and remember a little Latin. I thought after you wrote out the Latin, you were going to translate it. I'm sure, I love your warehouse isn't it.

Jana, I thought you have a walk out basement. If you do, would walking up the yard to the front be easier than the steps?

Chriss, So happy for you to get some lovin' on Elliott. Did your Dad get to see him, too?

Taxes are not going well. I talked with Garry's sister and they have to pay a lot, too. I will have to finish it at the house.

Today is packing up, stowing stuff, to get ready to roll on Tuesday. I will load my Bernina and sewing tote into the Jeep so it will be easy to get out at the house, actually the Sewing Cabin.

Hope y'all have a great day.

Good morning Girls

Another cloudy dreary day.... and according to the weather app on my phone, snow will be starting soon! Figures.... I set my patio chairs out!

Maryz... Oh yeh, we weren't required to eat fish, we just couldn't eat meat on Friday. Often times we had pancakes or french toast or peanut butter toast and hot cocoa for supper. OH yes, I remember mass in Latin!! You still haven't gotten things on the truck fixed??? I've had AAA for years and never had a problem, even when I had hail damage on my house, they covered everything... roof, new siding and new gutters- no hassle, no haggle. I think it comes down to like you say... deny, delay, defend. I ran across that kind of stuff more often with the insurance companies we dealt with when we owned the pharmacy. I don't think we ever got paid for thousands of dollars the State of Minnesota owed us. Let me check my shop for yelllows and purples.. I do have one tote of yellows but not a lot of purple.

Flo.... That's crazy... to charge you for having a pool? Sometimes I think it's not the insurance company itself, but the stupid people they hire!

Judi.... How fun to take granddaughter on a shopping spree! Last year I wanted to fill a laundry basket of stuff for Brennen to take to college but he swore he didn't need anything and other gramma kind of beat me to it. But Evie goes to the same college as Bren this fall, so I'll try again and send her off with towels and dorm stuff and school supplies.

Jana... That's why I'm loving my new place... no stairs! I found that if I carefully go down the steps backwards, it's quite a bit easier!

Lyn... You are heading back to the house from the beach? Hope you get your taxes figured out. I remember having to make estimated payments and it hurt every time I had to come up with the cash!

Lori.... Come on up! But wait until we have nice weather!

Chriss..... So glad you got a visit from Elliott!!! They just change so fast. I'm just so happy for you that your Dad is close by and wanting to do all sorts of things for you. I have to say about 1/2 of that fabric in my garage is stuff that KC gave me or left behind or stuff that Katie gave me and I'm so grateful for every square inch of it. I just keep telling the kids that I'm sewing it up as fast as I can!! Sometime I'd love to try to make crock pot granola!!!

Well, I better get in gear around here. If anybody came in my house right now they would think I've been vandalized! Several projects are on my couch and the dining room table is covered with cut-out baby sleepers to put together. I can only stand the mess for so long then it starts to drive me crazy.... and I'm at that point!

Wishing you all a wonderful Sunday

Good morning, was going, going, going all day yesterday. Went through the shed looking for a slide projector. Didn't find it, guess we already got rid of it. But did find a few other things I kept out and will send to appropriate family members. Went to Napa to pick up my son's order from the fishing store, stopped at several estate sales. Brought home some toys to take to the fishing trip for the GG, 3 bags of books (only a buck a bag!), and a few other things. Got my old scrubs all washed up and will take to a second hand store. Lots of items for my Napa patient. Woke up feeling like a truck rolled over me this morning. Now to round up boxes to mail some of this stuff.

Chriss glad you got to see Elliott. Sounds like he is over his little illness. I am trying to shew the squirrels off as they are digging in my strawberry patch! They apparently have the know how to get around the netting. Had to giggle at your Tshirt story. While out and about yesterday, we came across little boys selling lemonaide. So I told DH to stop and get some. They wanted 0.50 because it was only half a cup. I told him he should have came them $5 cuz they were kids trying. Better than being off causing trouble somewhere.

Tina glad you are getting a reprieve from the pain. How was the Italian food? We had Mexican last night. Oohh will have to find the pictures, they sound wonderful.

Lori what is the advantage to paying quarterly? I know a few others who do that but never thought to ask why.

Lyn when I went to the Joanne's here, it really was a wasted trip. They didn't really have good sales and nothing I needed. Wonder if things have changed in the tax law that we are having such huge amounts to pay?

Judi sorry about the taxes, I owe a lot too and am trying to not spent too much at the LQS. Passing on several classes and fabric.

Jana it definately rained here last night. Not as much as they said but it did rain. My knee is being normal too. Hurt like hell the first time I bent it this morning. Likely on it too much yesterday.

Maryq our weather has been all over the place lately. 2 days into the 80's and now 52 and cloudy. Where is the Fabric Warehouse, maybe when I travel in September? Or I could just stop by and shop at your place!

Maryz I am going to start getting rid of clothes I haven't worn in awhile.

Well, I need to start getting some of this stuff out of my living room and ready to mail. Have a great day everyone.

Good soggy morning. The sky is not sure it wants the sun to peek out so it's staying grey with black splotches here and there. We will be rainy for a few days.

Yesterday I was in my glory. Got in a few good hours with my family. It was a stress free relaxing day. My son still hasn't texted me the pictures but my DIL sent a few. Sadly I had to prompt them to take some of my grandson being adored by me. Sure wish those kids could just read my mind and do what I wish they would do, Who's with me?

Maryz, purses are very difficult for me to get rid of. I like a cross body with a zipper closure and a zipper pocket in the front. And if I see one at a sale, I usually get it and add it to my stack that sits in my closet. Sorry about the insurance junk. I'm not convinced that any one insurance company is better or worse than the other. Thanks for the library info. My son is telling me about pod casts. I know how to work my earbuds and have synced them to my phone. I just need to sit down and read how to charge them. I also have the stack of books that came with my car that I want to read.

Flo, I also no longer have AAA for homeowners insurance.

Judi, you are so cool to help the grands get started in their new homes. what a treat for both of you. Hope your friend gets a lot of blocks, a neat idea.

Jana, I think your rain is scooching over here. Just little spits of it right now, but the rest is supposed to be here later, I think it's being pushed along with this wind.

Lyn, when you get back to your cabin is it all ready for you to fill up or have you already filled it up? what a fun fresh new space for you. We all met at my dad's for our Elliott day. It was fun.

Maryq, when you mention your house in disarray I imagine fabric and sewing stuff just flung everywhere. I'm glad people have given you fabric. You do a lot of charity quilty things and it's nice you have been gifted fabric so you can turn it into something that will benefit others. You are a kind and thoughtful lady. Give that crock pot granola a shot. It's so so easy to do.

Valerie, DH should have given those boys $5. Wehn Marilyn was young, maybe 9 or 10 we had a garage sale. She set up a lemonade stand and was smart enough to add a tip jar. Then she would run into the house and grab chips and put them into baggies to sell, and then made popcorn and sold it. She did this all on her own, I was amazed. Sounds like you are making good use of your time, soon your house will be all gone through and you won't have loose ends.

My firestick died last night, it's only 15+ years old. Then I wondered, do I need a fire stick. I asked the AI (who my dad has named AL because he thinks the I is an L) and since I have a new tv and Amazon prime I don't need a firestick at all. That saved me $20. I also went down the rabbit hole of finding free streaming tv apps.

I have only a few things on my todo list. Mostly it's going to be an all about me day. I was able to get started on the spare room (which is the junk drawer in this house) so I'd like to finish that up, then make myself some crock pot granola. I've found that if I use almond milk I can have cereal using the granola. Then I want to finally play in my sewing room. But first, breakfast and get dressed.

Dinner tonight will be a blt salad. Perhaps I will add some turkey to it? You all have a fab day. Here is a 4 generation picture from yesterday. Image

Chriss, what a wonderful photo!!
There's nothing in the Sewing Cabin yet.
My ear buds came in a little case, which has a spot to plug in a cord to charge them.
There's some good free streaming apps, glad you found some.

Good morning everyone 🌞
I posted pics in the photo section LOL I totally forgot to yesterday.
Maryz, LOL uncle Daddy, I told Frankie what our great nieces and nephew should be calling their parents here now LOL only these are 11, 18 almost and 21 year olds....I don't think any of them are very happy about it..... Plus sadly here the arguing has already begun with the newly weds.
No special occasion, Holly just wanted to take us to eat there. I used to love eating there as a special treat but they closed during COVID and just opened back up in a different location last year. It's really too expensive for us to eat there so I don't think we'll be going back, they're more expensive than Olive Garden. It was yummy though! I had the house trio plate which was parm chicken, creamy alfredo and lasagna. I only ate the chicken parm which was sooooooo yummy and less than a quarter inch thick and I had about 3 bites of the lasagna and the creamy alfredo, I brought those home to eat tomorrow most likely unless I have 1 for lunch. Frankie had a Philly cheese steak and sweet potato fries, he said it was pretty yummy too.
Can't your insurance company get AAA on the ball? That's kinda ridiculous time wise for sure. Enjoy your get together!
Flo, get your energy built up for tomorrow, you're going to need it! Yummy banana muffins!
Judi, I love your tradition with shopping and eating out with the grands, you're awesome!!
Jana, what do you do for the pain in your knee? Is your knee wore out? Maybe you should have a backup for going up and down those stairs?
Lyn, I'm excited for you to get your cabin all set up! I'm hoping you'll post pics.....hint hint πŸ˜‰. Looks like a lot are having to pay taxes this year, wonder why......it had to have been whatever changes were done in 2024 for it to be affecting so many right now, hopefully if changes are made this year it'll help everyone next filing year 🀞
Maryq, you can always send rain to me! We are in desperate need of it. Sounds like you have a good insurance agent so you get things taken care of, I think a good agent makes all the difference.
Valerie, gosh you've been busy! Try not to overdo it. Thanks for mentioning the pics, I totally forgot but they're posted now.
Chriss, awwww that's a great picture! Get it framed for sure πŸ₯°β€οΈπŸ₯°β€οΈ
I think our kids should be able to read our minds too LOL .
I'm not a purse person, it's a real chore for me to find one I like.....but with that being said Easton picked one out for me for Christmas and he told his mommy that "Gramma will love this one" and I do, it's perfect! Does that kid know me or what πŸ₯°πŸ₯° He is a stinker LOL he makes fun of the way I laugh, Holly couldn't believe it last night, he mimics my laugh and says "why do you laugh like this Gramma", the little turkey. But I get him back with just 1 finger to his neck, he's so ticklish just to touch him there LOL he freezes and curls his whole body up LOL it's funny πŸ€£πŸ˜‚
When we painted our mobile home Frankie replaced our skirting with metal that I painted, I love it! We desperately need better windows I think, maybe it would help with keeping dust out.....as soon as I win that lottery 😁😁 I have at least 12 out of 16 that need to be replaced.. possibly 14 out of the 16, 2 are pretty new and don't really let dirt in.
Well I need to get busy and do my exercises for the day.
You all have a great day!
Prayers for all in need πŸ™
Tina
