Good morning,

This morning - Home! The last 150 miles. Yesterday was 100 mountains and snow. Bare roads but lots of snow. Oregon was 300 miles of rain. At the last rest stop it was getting late so I slid the deep slide out halfway, reached in back of it to open pantry to get a can of Catfood. And Bill started pushing button to bring the slide back in before I got the pantry door closed. Crack! Ripped door off hinges. Door is 2’x6’. Actually bent hinges so badly door hung open. So he had to get some tools and clothesline rope and tie it shut so the slide wouldn’t rip it off the rest of the way and all our food fall out while traveling. One last little disaster. At least I hope it’s the last one. We still have 2 1/2 hours full of possibilities.

We should be home by 8am. We’ll get this puppy parked in a shelter, get some laundry going, and make some breakfast. Doyle and Susie will be over this afternoon with Pizza’s to watch the game. We’ve got chips and salsa and stuff for ice cream sundaes in the trailer so we will have a little homecoming party. Wonder if we should invite the squatter from next-door……😜

Lori, that is one reason I use color in my posts, too - so I can see at a glance if it posts. The other reason is simply because I like color. Especially turquoise. 😁. Though my phone posts are black.

All for now! I’ll be back later after we are home and laptops are set up again.

Good morning I was up early to put a loaf of home made bread on to rise...and bake, We are headed to the University of Toledo today to visit my grandson. He asked ken to help him with a paper he is writing about Ken"s dad the colorful man I talked about earlier,,,(registered Communist and socialist and other things my have been assisting with bootlegging as a teen too) Ken was very close to his Dad but didnt inherit any of his "habits") so we are heading down there to take Nolan to lunch and He always asks me if i have any home made bread so I am taking him a freshly baked loaf. we will go to his favorite pizza place too...
Then home to work on my quilt...we are not super bowl watchers Ken will keep an eye on the game but i will sew and try to get the quilt loaded...I didnt get to it yesterday so today seems like a good evening to do it.
Mary I am assuming you are on your way home...Sorry about all your disasters,,,this trip seems to have had your share,,,hope the squatter is gone. Thought all the dramma at your house was gone...with Vickie but it seems there is always something,,,I too thought they had torn down the house,,,
Well I need to check on my bread dough it should be double by now...preheat the oven and get this show on the road....hope your day is fun and you all have fun if you are watching and having s super bowl party..when the Detroit Lions go to the super bowl I will watch and party but till then XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo

Good morning and a blessed day to you all.

Spent some quality time at the sewing machine yesterday. Working on Windsong BOM. It is slow going but making progress. Would like to get January done (12 blocks) before February's gets here. Should be around the 17th. I am a bit behind on my Radiance BOM but that's okay. I have already messed up Farm Girl Vintage so put that aside for now. I will have to see about getting more fabric. I will go to that shop (Dixon) on the 24th to start the Mariner's Compass quilt so will ask about more fabric then. I have a load of clothes in the dryer that should come out and be folder but we will see.

Maryz you have a trip to remember, hope it doesn't cause any more difficulties. Hoping that is not a real expensive fix. RV's and the like can be pricey to fix. Safe travels for you last little bit. Be careful with those squatters, they can be quite nasty and often times dangerous here.

Judi you are such a good grandma, I don't think I have ever brough my grands homemade bread. Although I don't make it as much as I used to. I won't watch the Super Bowl either. Dad's team (Eagles) is playing but I know he will be watching from heaven.

Tina prayers for Holly. Sounds like her life is not good right now. Try to stay off that foot. In the early stage of PF you really have to rest it. The frozen bottle of water is helpful but also make sure you have a good insole in your shoe, and no barefoot walking. I am feeling better every day. Still no kneeling and have to careful not to hit my arm.

Maryq I looked at the Walkabout pattern, don't think it's in my future. I am trying not to plan anything new and just work on what I have for now. I bet I have at least 20 if not more quilts started and time to get some of them finished.

Lori I have a "Tea" on the 9th of March. Potluck so need to think of some thing to make. My friend is in charge of it and she asked if I would not make dessert as that is what everyone makes. She would like some more hot dishes. And it's supposed to be finger foods so I will need to think on that.

Chriss quite proud of you for saying "No"! It really irritates me when these things happen. People have no idea of the time or money involved in making a quilt. I am overjoyed for you that your family/friends were nice enough to get a hotel room.

Jana always feels wonderful to find just what you need.

Lyn happy days are here again! Glad to here of the progress on your sewing shed.

Lori I didn't realize that Dad was no longer mobile. Did he get physical therapy after his break? I thought I say he had surgical repair? I so try to keep up with things but guess it's not my strong point.

Well I best get to getting if I am going to get any sewing in today, and I see my battery is getting low. This poor old battery doesn't last like it used too. Have a great day everyone.
A Friend is God's way of making sure we never walk alone!

Good Morning Girls

Happy Sunday!!! So who is watching the Super Bowl? Not me, I suppose if the MN Vikings were playing I might. I used to watch it just for the half time show, but that's gotten so ridiculous I've given up on that! I'm sure I can find a good movie to watch on one of the many steaming channels

Maryz... As I type this I imagine you are just about pulling in your driveway!! Oh what a trip you've had!! Now that you are home I'm sure you will be having a busy week, getting the RV unpacked, doing laundry, getting all your quilt tops put together. Are you still having company tonight? Welcome home!!

Judi... Oh gosh, won't Nolan be so glad to see you with Fresh Baked Bread!! Have you ever made Sour dough bread? I've seen a couple folks on FB making it and it looks so yummy---but a lot of work. Think I'll just grab a loaf at the grocery store.

Lois.... Did you get snow yesterday too? I think at my house we got about 5". From what I could tell the highways were plowed pretty well, but there were still a lot of accidents. I love to check the traffic cameras in my area, not that I'm going anywhere! You are going to do "On Wander Lane" too? You are so brave!!

Chriss... You are wise to say no to making a quilt out of Crown Royal bags... to my way of thinking that would be a pain in the toosh! I mean, who wants to cut up all those bags!!! Viv has a HUGE bag full of them. Not for me either thanks. And I'm just not comfortable doing quilts on commission either--I think when you sew for other people, they have to be perfect but I'm not a perfectionist quilter, I sew for fun!

Tina... Oh yes, if I WAS going to go out in garage, I'd definitely have to leave the door open a crack. It's going to be barely above zero this week, so even with a heater, I'm not going out there. Whatever mess there is, can wait.!! I have enough fabric IN the house to keep me busy!! I missed it... is Holly sick?

Valerie... It's so nice to know that I am not the only with several UFO's in progress! I have many tops done, just need to be quilted. I have to really be in the mood to do that myself.

I did manage to spin the mop around a little yesterday, mostly the dirtiest part--the kitchen. Gave the rest of the house a "lick and a promise" then hit the sewing room. I learned something about my Janome and my Brother embroidery machine ! They both have a special foot for doing an overlock stitch!!! Since I don't sew knits, I'd never investigated that option. But I'm sewing up some of the draw string bags with just cotton pieces and wanted to zig zag the edges. Man what a difference it makes having the right foot!! How long have I been sewing and I just learned this!! See you can teach an old dog new tricks!!

For now it's time for a shower then to go pay bills

Wishing you all the very best today!

No birds or squirrel this morning, I forgot to fill the feeders yesterday and I'm not gonna do it in my PJ's.

MaryZ, Sorry Bill got in a hurry and now has a door project. So where did you park last night, was it the Casino you had mentioned?

Judi, It sounds like y'all have a good day planned. Safe travels.

Lois, How nice of the in-laws to clear snow/ice.

Tina, Hope the guys didn't get food poisoning. Anyone else come down with it? You worked really hard at Holly's, hope you didn't overdo. I hope Holly is feeling better with whatever was wrong. As worthless as her DH, darn hubby is, he should leave. That staying together for the kids sometimes is worse, though I don't know her exact situation.

Chriss, Nice that the cousins stayed one night and then to a hotel to be close to other family. I hope all went well.

Congratulations to all who have lost some weight. 👏

Yesterday the HVAC guy was here at 8 a.m. to install a cover over the pipe and hoses for the mini split. He didn't have the top piece the other day. I set up the modem equipment that is supposed to make the signal stronger in the cabin, but I don't think it's working very well. Sometimes I get an error message when I open the app for the mini split, not sure what it's about so will call tomorrow. I realized that with 6 windows I'd better get some kind of curtains up to off set the sun when I'm not in there. I called HL near Bee Cave and checked to make sure they had blackout curtain fabric. Then I called my friend, Carol, and asked if she wanted to shop, since I was going right passed her road, she was free to go play. I bought 7 yards of white blackout fabric. We also stopped at Michael's and Walmart, where I picked up the tension rods. There's a BBQ place on the corner of the road to Carol's house, so we stopped there and I bought some meat to go with leftover salads, so dinner was easy.

After loading the dishwasher, I'm going to cut fabric and make curtains. We'll watch the game.

Hope everyone has a great day.
Lyn

Mary Q I was the one who started all that OWL mess but that's one you can work on and off .
I don't watch the Superbowl unless Minnesota vikings were in it because that's Bills team he has rooted and watched them since I knew him.

Good morning!

We have a dusting of snow on my deck. It's about as much as what you'd sprinkle on a cookie. Not much at all. But it's cold out there.

We did go back and get the dresser. Daniel and Aaron helped getting it in the house, along with Joseph. That puppy is heavy! So now to re-arrange where clothes go. I detest the smell of cedar in drawers and this new dresser has 2 drawers that are cedar on the bottom. So I will experiment with putting a wax on those drawers to seal the cedar, in hopes that works. We'll see, or should say smell.

Church is a bit later. My hymns are old, well known ones we're singing. 3asy conducting times too. After church, it's home and put on a corned beef for dinner and yes, watch the game. I don't have any dog in this fight, but will root for the Chiefs.. I like Andy Reid, the coach. He's a member of the church and coached and played for BYU. Definitely not a Eagles fan, never have been! And watch the commercials more than the game. Even if the commercials have been rather lame these last few years.

Not much more here. Glad Maryz almost home! We don't need anymore surprises from this adventure!

Tina - keeping Holly in my prayers. Hope all things work out. With two getting sick, right after eating that pizza, did you think 9f food poisoning? It happens that qu8ck.

Judi - fresh bread! Hopefully you'll get a copy of the paper being written, it's a great piece of family history.

Maryq - sewing those bags is great! Sarah, Crenda and I did something similar for what's called, The Princess Pageant here, that Crenda volunteers with. It's for young ladies that are wheelchair bound to be treated as a princess. My boys also help by dressing as the princess from the fairy tales.. the bags we made fit on the wheelchair to hold things that might be needed.

Valerie - glad you are g to know your machine. It's can be intimidating with all it can do!

Chriss - good gor you! It's hard to say no, but it's the right thing to do!

Lori - oh I feel for you and your dad. It's such a tough situation. Hugs and prayers.

Well, time to feed the grumpy bear here before church. Then I'll get dressed. Something subtle, in the Chiefs colors -I have a dress that's red and yellow. It would be frowned upon if I wore my Niners jersey. :)

Hugs,
Jana

Good morning. It's going to be a great day today. Yesterday's memorial was nice. Not many people but those that were there had a few stories and I visited with people I will likely never see again.

I am not sure what I will do today, perhaps clean out the fridge and some light housework.

Tina, I have changed almost all of my lights to led lights. They had some led bulbs at Costco that had a switch on the side of the bulb for soft, bright and whatever the third setting is. You can have the level of light by switching to it. Hope your family is feeling better. Sorry everyone isn't up to par.

Lori, glad the boys are getting a normal walk, it's funny how routine dogs are. I didn't know an Air b&b didn't have breakfast. I wonder what the second B stands for? Bed and Bupkus? When do you go to Arizona?

Maryz, lots of mishaps on this trip but also lots of fun and adventure. It's almost 8am so I hope you're backing into your spot at home and unlocking your door so you can get ready for football.

Judi, your grandkids are so blessed. Nice that you pop on over to take Nolen to lunch, bring him some bread and talk about family. so cool. I also am not a game watcher but did put on a superbowl party for Jerry last year with every frozen boxed and packaged food item he wanted. It was a lot of fun.

Lois, I laughed at the milkshake you have. I also did a load of laundry, having company creates a load of towels which are now ready to be folded. Tomorrow I tackle the sheets.

Valerie, I'm glad that my cousin got a hotel room too. But the reason wasn't because he didn't want to stay here, it was because that is where some of his other family and friends were and as they sat in a bar it would be a 20 mile drive to my house. They are pretty heavy drinkers and it's good they stay where they drink. Sounds like you have lots of projects going, I'm having trouble just getting one done.

Maryq, I'm not a superbowl or any sport watcher. I do agree, the half time show isn't as good as it used to be. Even the commercials aren't what they were. I am with you. No comission or other quilts unless I want to make them. I have offered to show someone who wants a quilt how to get started but they usually decline and just want a quilt without the effort. Sure wish someone would give my house a lick and a promise.

Lyn, when is move in day? Hope the mini split thing gets fixed easily. and you hang your curtains easily. Is that the last thing that needs doing? Your birds here are chirping wildly and some are in the yard finding their breakfast. Perhaps when you fill your feeder they will come back home.

Jana, so glad you got the dresser. I agree about the cedar smell, hope you can mask it somehow. I am going to root for the Eagles only because the cheif's have won so many times. I won't know who won until I see it on the news tomrorow.

I think I will go have some breakfast, clean out the fridge and todya will be change the filter in the furnace day. It's a washable filter but takes a while to dry in this weather so I have two and swap them out.

No clue what dinner will be but I do need to work on eating what is in the fridge and not do grocery shopping. Seems when I plan to cook something I end up having someplace to go and have to cook the next day.

You all ahve a groovy day,
Chriss

Maryz, you must be home by now. This has been quite a trip with all the mishaps. Was Bill in a hurry or did he think you were finished? My Bill breaks a lot of things because he rushes though. I bet Foxy and Scottie are glad to be back in their territory.

Chriss, I'm not sure what it stands for. I guess I'll have to look that up now. Glad the memorial was nice.

Lois, I have the OWL blocks I made on my design wall, but I can't seem to get into working on it either. I'm sure it will come to me eventually.

Valerie, Usually finger sandwiches and desserts are service at Tea. We had a cream cheese cucumber sandwich that was wonderful. They tried rehab for my dad, but with his stage 6 dementia he just couldn't do it. He was to fearful of falling every time we go him up to use the walker.

Judi, how nice to spend some time with the grandson. Fresh bread sounds yummy.

Maryq, I have the overlock foot. It's funny looking. I've never used it.

Tina, Holly's situation makes me sad. I hope her health improves.

Lyn, I love a friend that will join in last minute. Sounds like you had a nice time. Hope you can figure out the WiFi problem.

Jana, glad you got the dresser. I need to look for a smaller one some day.

Well I don't watch football, so I'll be sewing instead. I have many project to choose from. I'm going to layer anther quilt and start quilting it. The tea yesterday was very good.

I'll have to check the fridge to see what's for dinner. I don't have a clue.

Have a lovely day.
