Sunday, Feb 2

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Feb 02, 2025 3:58 am

Good morning

I am on my phone this morning. No Internet here for us. We are in Deming, New Mexico and had a nice visit with Tina and Frankie last night. All your hugs were delivered and received. ❀️. We forgot to take a photo though. Sorry.

Lyn, my sister-in-law, Terry, who will be 82 next week, also drives a motorhome-home and has for many years. And tows a vehicle and travels the country alone. There is even a group called silver and single composed of lone female drivers.

Judi, you can always choose your next project and pull fabrics and have it waiting for you. πŸ˜‰

We had good day yesterday despite El Paso. I-10 was completely closed for heavy construction but that was OK. The detour was our usual route of choice anyway to avoid going thru town. But we grabbed a rest area right over NM border and ran into 4 lit cop cars and a lot of crime scene tape in the parking lot. Not sure what was going on there.

I finished my embroidered panel yesterday. Never occurred to me I would get it done so I didn’t bother bringing the last one with me. Oh well. I did bring a lot of old quilt magazines i can pore over.Image

Have a great day!

Good morning,

Maryz DH is now home 2 days a week, Friday and Saturdays plus these floating holidays they come up with. He used to be able to save the floating holidays and take them all at once but no longer. If you work the holiday, they decide now what day you will take off for it. DH will go out to the RV for a bit and play his guitar but he really doesn't have any hobbies. And, he's a TV watcher. So TV on a good part of the day. I am not used to that. I like the house quiet. No photo, how can that be! I wonder too what was going on at the rest stop. Crime scene tape is not a speeding ticket.

Chriss we did get fairly steady rain yesterday. According to Rainfall totals, we got about 0.75 inches. It is calling for light rain today. Last night the news said Vallejo will get approx 2.75 inches through Tuesday with Monday and Tuesday being the worst. Sounds like you are spending your money wisely.

Judi I will need the laundry room for 1 load today, did you get yours done? Yes, monitors can be a pain but thank God they no longer use those Holter Monitors. What a bigger pain they were.

Flo do you have a easy starter recipe? Hope you aren't coming down with anything significant. DD has the flu right now but was started on Tamiflu a couple days ago. She should start feeling better soon.

Lyn I do see a lot of women driving RV's these days. I always wonder why the husband is not driving. Maybe there is one? I would never attempt to drive our RV. So happy the floor is done.

Jana yes, atmospheric River is the old pinapple express. Why did they change the name? Oh yes, nothing like sour dough on the wharf. Having spent much of my career in the world of Dementia, along with both parents, I understand your plight. It can be very frustrating. Will send a little prayer.

Diane Happy Birthday! HB to Oasis and Mepiece also. Hope they check in.

Tina glad you had a nice visit with Maryz. I so wish I could fit some visits in on my trip. I thought last night maybe I should fly to the east coast, rent a car and then make my way back across the country. May look up the expenses for that.

Yesterday I got all the borders made for DGD owl quilt. The first one is on and will try to get the other 3 done today. Then just have to do the back and find somebody to quilt it. My quilter that used to do my big quilts traded in her frame for a smaller one so darn. I have the name of someone, need to see if she has time to get it done. I would like to mail it my March 1. Still would have to do the binding when she gets it back. DD sent me pictures of DSIL with his pillow cases I made him. He likes octopuses and we found some octopus fabric in Santa Cruz. I will post pics after I make my breakfast.

So off I am, have a great day everyone

Happy birthday, Diane. And to Linda and Katy too. Hope they check in to collect their birthday wishes!

Valerie, your idea of flying one way and renting a car might be a good way to go. Comparing fuel in hotels and restaurants for one way might offset an airline ticket and cost of a rental. Do car rental companies rent their vehicles for cross country travel? I know U-Haul does but that probably isn’t the way you want to go though remember you want to stop at Missouri star! Maybe U-Haul would be a good idea after all! 🀣

Just a heads up-watch your PayPal accounts. DH got a $699 charge on his for bitcoin! We are not bitcoin people. PayPal realize this was unlike our normal purchasing history and contacted us.

Good Morning Girls

Had all good intentions of logging on yesterday but the morning kind of got away from me! Shawn came over to help me with burned out bulbs in a ceiling light fixture, then later Kevin and Sara and Nolan stopped by. By that time I had to run to Target for groceries and of course picked just the right moment to head to the freeway---as the snow and wind moved through--kind of blizzardy, but I toughed it out. The rest of the afternoon is kind of a blur, but I must have been busy because there's a little remnants of a squirrel running through my living room!

Maryz... Thought of you last night about 9, but figured for sure you guys would be all tucked in. Glad you got to meet up with Tina and Frankie! Sometimes you just too busy to take pictures! It was so hectic here at Christmas I didn't get any pictures!! I'll just recycle last years!

Diane..... Oh gosh Happy Birthday to you!! I try to keep birthdays on the calendar here by my desk... But I missed yours! Actually I missed all of the February ones. I haven't seen Linda (Oasis) for many years.. Gotta love a guy that will make you breakfast! Enjoy your day!

Valerie.... That sounds like an option plan to your visiting folks across the country. For sure rent a car that gets good mileage and doesn't charge by the mile!! Gas is down to $2.87/gal here in Minnesota, but it sure changes day by day!

Flo... Will send some prayers for your son's surgery! I did google up some recipes for sour dough starter, as much as I'd love to try it... I don't think I better take on another project   If I didn't have oh about 10 different quilt projects waiting for me I'd do it!

Lois... Sorry to hear Bill has the flu? Is it like Flu A? My bff just had that and was really really sick (she has other health issues that made it worse) Hope he heals up fast---for your sake! I don't want to hear a story of NJ that a husband was found frozen to the front porch!

Katy.... In case you stop by HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Lots of news to catch up from missing you yesterday, but I hear my washer buzzing--got the laundry started even before my first cup of coffee! Trying to decide which squirrel to chase this morning. I'd kind of like to head out to the garage and rummage through some totes to find some fabric to donate. A gal on the local Facebook group in looking for fabric to teach her boys how to sew. They make pillows and blankets for homeless shelters. Gotta love a Mom that teaches her kids to think of others! Also have to type of association board meeting minutes some time today before I forget to do that!! (it's happened)

So off I go, music is cranked up and caffeine is on board!

Wishing you all the very best!

LOIS-- no one can suffer having a cold than my hubby--NO ONE! I know that and share, like you, my sewing room is my escape from the moans in the living room as he watches his shows. His concern is "whats for lunch-or dinner. The more minor the illness the louder the moans. He has bladder cancer and is in a study for the next few years. After a treatment he is uncomfortable and is quiet for a few days. But a cold makes him a big big pain in the rear. After 56 years married-I just shake my head and disappear into the sewing room (my sanity)

Good morning everyone 🌞
It was so great to see Mary and Bill yesterday! We had a great little visit and they had cheese, crackers and cookies to share with us 😁 it was a pretty nice afternoon weather wise too! I got to see Mary's embroidery too, it's so pretty! I even got to give Foxy a pet and shared some cheese and cookie with Scotty πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ he liked that!
Happy birthday to Katy, Diane and Linda πŸŽ‰πŸ₯³πŸŽ‚ I hope you all have great fun!
I think I'll be attempting to give Duncan a bath this morning....I don't think I'll try to do them both in the same day the way my foot is.
I'm making Philly cheese steak for supper, Dad and Jazmyne will both be here.
I need to get busy. You all have a great day!
Prayers for all in need πŸ™
Tina

Oh Chriss, my machine does have the knee bar but that just picks the pressor foot up and down, my mom's old old machine had that knee thing that actually made the machine run. When I bought my machine about 15 years ago I asked places that sold machines which ones had that feature because I really wanted it and I was told by several places that they didn't know of any machines that had that.....too bad huh, I think that should be a feature for sure.
