Good morning,

Yesterday I did the sheets and made the bed back up then off to the drugstore for vitamins and we stopped and got a cup of hot butter Pecan coffee and came home I finished all three blocks for January of OWL.
Today we have a bj run to do and when we come home I will pull fabric for the February I already traced all the appliques so I'm ready I will do some wash in between.

Bill and I are getting new phones we have had these phones since 2019 so we ordered them lastweek they were free phone but you have to pay the tax and all the other stuff with it.
Will go do that tomorrow to get everything transferred from one to the other.

Well thats all the news from here.
Have a great day.
Prayers go out to all.

Good morning,

A rainy day here in Houston with possible T&L. I was wide awake before 3am, too early even for me but my mind woke up before the rest of me was ready. So here I am.

CAROL - so good to see you! And a great tip about the car battery. Glad you enjoyed the quilt show. I just saw Cindy G on Monday and she showed me a photo of her pineapple quilt. Hers is all bright batiks and black. Stunning. What colors are you doing yours in?

TINA - I hope Carol's shared tip fixes your problem. I'm no fan of all the computerized car accessories. What was wrong with simple knobs, buttons, and dials? What's the situation update on Holly's house?

CHRISS - I had to laugh - you sound like such a mom! Your son wants to take you to lunch and you're saying we have purrfectly good food at home. Don't spend the money! I say the same thing. Now our grandsons want to treat us now and then. We let them sometimes. It makes them feel good, but I hate to see them spend the money. Is Thursday still a 'go' for you? I've heard about Dolly Parton's monthly book program. What a nice idea to sign up Elliott! Has Mama gone back to work? What work does she do?

MARY Q - thanks for sharing the photo yesterday. Photo Image wouldn't do it on Monday, and I forgot to try on Tuesday. Yes, Dr appts here are just Bill's annual exam. Blood work yesterday was improved over last year. Physical exam is today. In Washington Sue's sewing room was the entire lower level of her house except for one small TV room. Here in Texas she has her machines, long arm, and design wall in the upstairs bonus room and all her fabric and cutting table in an adjacent room. One end of the bonus room has a balcony that overlooks the downstairs entry, living room, and stairway. She displays quilts on the railing. It's a beautiful set up!

JANA - Mr G certainly has had his more than his share of medical issues! My step-nephew-in-law just went through the 'stone' procedure while he was on vacation in Kentucky. It could have been more fun for him . . :o Glad Aaron is getting new tires on his rig. We can't have our emergency responders having an accident when they are responding to emergencies! Construction! We've been through SLC area many times over the last 33 years and it's always under major construction. I think it always will be. Ditto Phoenix and Austin was a nightmare this year. We are the same way in Seattle/Tacoma area. A pain to drive through. Hope that chair shows up soon! Funny you should mention a Tennessee Waltz. I've been thinking of that pattern the last few weeks, and then Cindy just showed me a picture of one she just finished and now you mention it. I'm thinking the universe is telling me I need to make another one. What color scheme would you use if you make one? The one I made for my friend many years ago was black, gold, and cream.

JUDI - how did Liam do at hockey last night? I hope he didn't OVERdo. Do you think you'll have your quilt finished before FL? You make it all sound so quick and easy - all you have left to do is "assemble, add borders, quilt, and bind". I really miss a lot of our old members, too. I tell Cindy and Sue every time I see them that they are missed and why not come back, at least occasionally. They just smile at me.

FLO - I bet we have the same heavy cast iron skillet. 14" across. Ours travels with us. We use it for camping all the time but rarely at home. It's just too big for our cabinets. We love baked ziti. I have a special recipe that I usually use. Yum!

LORI - did you happen to run into Carol at the quilt show?
.
LOIS - Yay! You're working on your OWL! Excitement! Not sure what hot butter pecan coffee is but I'd be willing to give it a try!

Quiet days here for me. I cleaned fridge, cabinets, and floor yesterday. And made good progress on my embroidery project. That's about all. Not sure what I'll do today but choices are pretty limited - polish woodwork or not. Nasty weather is predicted for today and tomorrow. Tomorrow is travel day again but weather may hold us back a day. It's prudent to pay attention to weather forecasts down here. Hail, wind, and chance of tornadoes tend to catch one's attention. The RV park is having "Pizza night" here tonight. Not sure what that means but I think we're going to check it out. We haven't had pizza for quite a while and right now it sounds good to me.

Happy πŸͺ Day!

Good morning!

It's Mother Nature's favorite temperature outside, 18. Seems to be that every morning. Just plain cold!

Everything is finalized for Mr G. The procedure will be the 18th, up at the main hospital in SLC. We'll be one of the first in the morning schedule because of his diabetes. They don't want him long without his meds and food. We have to do it in the main hospital too, because of the pacemaker.

The fabrics I have in my stash for a Tennessee Waltz quilt, are blues and yellows. I saw them awhile ago and they jumped up on the shop's counter, saying, me me me! So I obliged. I've been tracking my chair and it's made progress, last I saw yesterday, it left El Paso, Texas. No update yet today. By it's tracking, it's probably not on a UPS hotshot train that Santa Fe runs. A hotshot train is made up entirely of UPS freight and doesn't stop along the way. The chair is most likely on a truck. Daniel has a buddy that drives long haul for UPS out of Reno. Doesn't matter which way, just get that chair here! πŸ˜€

So not much here. A very quick scavenger hunt this morning and then stay home! We're having tortilla soup for dinner. Time to find my Valentine decorations and put them out. It's only one box. And change the cookie jar lid to Valentine as well.

Hugs,
Jana

Good Morning Girls

Have to type fast this morning!! Need to jump in the shower soon and be dressed when Peggy comes for coffee!

Lois.. Do you do Iphone or Android? I think I need a new phone too, or at least a new battery as mine barely lasts a full day. I see ads for free phones from T Mobile (my carrier) but then I'd have to change to a more expensive plan. I don't need anything super fancy and don't always understand all that A-I stuff. I just want to be able to facetime with my Alaska kids!

Maryz... Good news on Bill's lab report!! I'm sure you are anxious to start for home, but I agree, best to wait until the path is clear of storms! Isn't it great that a little app on the phone can tell you the weather in just about any place in the world. Looks like an 80% chance of storms near Austin (not sure about Houston tho) tomorrow.

Flo.... That sure sounds like a good day to me.... work and visiting!

Judi.... I bet it will be fun to get back together with your guild peeps!! There's a guild in a town near me, but they meet early in the morning (I just can't get myself out of the house before 11:). But a gal I met on Facebook that lives just down the street from me, we thought it would be a fun idea to get a group started here in St. Michael. Not necessarily a guild as such, but just a group of fellow quilters. I might just throw it out there on the FB bulletin board. No room in house to have a meeting of any kind, but perhaps we can use the Library!

Jana... When I visit down at Kris's folks in Ferryville, WI.. the trains go whizzing by their house all day and nite! Do you know what the "Intermodel" cars are? I guess that's where the "good stuff" is. Some of the trains are interesting to watch as they go by, the art work on them is really something. Glad Mr. G was able to get in for the kidney stone as soon as he did! Seems you have to wait forever to schedule any procedure these days. My Niece has to have her thyroid removed (cancer) and the soonest they can get her in is April 17.

Chriss... LOVE a good tuna salad!!! Even just for sandwiches--but I really like potato chips with my sandwich and I try not to have those in the house. I've seen ads for the Dolly Parton program. How cool that you were able to sign up Elliott. He will have quite a collection. So important to read to kids. My Eye Dr has a little library in her office and can borrow books from her anytime. She really encourages reading!

Guess I better hit the shower. It's relatively clean/tidy in here, but Peggy doesn't judge . She knows my house is my work shop. As much as I would love a cute little kitchen table in my kitchen, right now that's where work table and ironing board are!

Hope you all have a great day! See you tomorrow!

Lois, since you !mentioned it, the OWL, I should get mine out and work on it to.

Maryz, no I didn't see Carol this year. I didn't stay at the show very long.

Jana, Bill has an 8mm stone that they are going to have to get. He's had it for a while. We'll find out more on Thursday.

Judi, have fun at guild. Do you have speakers? I only go if we have good ones. We're having David Owen Hastings in March. I be taking his class the day after guild.

Flo, fresh bread sounds yummy.

Chriss, I agree with Maryz. Let your son buy you lunch once in a while. It makes them feel good to do something nice for mom. It's hard for me to let my son pay for things too.

I have some errands to do today, and also vacuuming. So after we walk, I'll jump right in. I made the border for the vets quilt last night. I got half of it on. Will do the other half today.

Have a lovely day.

Good morning. It's going to be a beautiful day today.

The parents will be here this afternoon. I will get my walk in this morning and I think I will make some crock pot granola to go with the yogurt I bought at Costco.

People around here are sure complaining about the cost of eggs. I just bought 5 dozen for $17.99 at Costco. Up in town the same 5 dozen is $54. I just don't get it. But I will boil my own for a while and probably grumble a bit about it.

Tina, my old car had a "CVT" transmission thing (Subaru) and as I was driving every light on my dashboard came on. Dad replaced it and all was good. Hope yours gets figured out. I still have things on my car needing to be figured out.

Lois, I'd like a new phone. But I can't find a free Iphone, so I will continue to use my old one. You sure were productive yesterday. fun.

Maryz, you'll have that trailer all spiffed up and won't have to do anything but unload it when you get home. I can't justify going out for lunch at about $40 each time I go to see my kids. So, I will make some deviled eggs, cut up some cheese and add salami and cold cuts and we will have finger foods. Maybe I'll get some grapes and other things. I think what they used to call a Hors D' Oeuvre platter is now a charcuterie board (I googled both of those words for spelling)

Flo, happy bread making and friend visiting.

Judi, aren't free tables just the funnest? Amazing the things you can find that others don't want. I do think of your DIL every so often. I really want her to do well.

Jana, hope that chair arrives soon. I don't have a bad ups story but my USPS story is when I sent a box to Texas and it ended up in Puerto rico ugh. happy decorating. Sounds like a good plan for DH.

Maryq, I'd like a new phone but also would have to upgrade my plan to get one. Just think, very soon you will be able to face time your Alaska kids and actually reach out an touch their faces. No phone needed. Great idea for a local quilt group get together. Our group isn't a guild but meets one saturday a month at a local church. We do quilts for local veterans and other local charities. It's a really good group. My tuna salad was just that. Tuna salad no bread or chips. I used to put chips in a PB&J sandwich. But I don't eat that anymore either. I did find some no sugar added PB.

Lori, I do let him buy lunch but this time I am going to treat him. He's bought the last few times. I googled Hastings. He does some interesting things. I love how you just venture out and give it a shot when something is intriquing to you.

Just got a call, my friend doesn't want to walk so I will get my shower, go get a few things for my lunch tomorrow, make crock pot granola and sew until my parents get here. Sounds like a great way to spend the day.

Dinner tonight will be taco salad. You all have a great day,
Chriss

Good morning everyone 🌞
Lois, I did all the other laundry yesterday, bedclothes are being done right now. I think I'll get my OWL out too and get to work on it, thanks for the reminder.
Maryz, Holly is still waiting on the adjuster, she said her flooring is curling really bad and she is thinking of just taking it up herself.....I told her she should at least get a contractor person in to do an estimate so she has it started. She said the adjuster told her the water damage on her kitchen cabinets is from mopping 🀦 like seriously who mops with enough water to flood your kitchen cabinets 🀦🀷 so I'm thinking she's going to have a fight on her hands from the get go. Stay put and stay safe till better weather.
Flo, have fun! Yummy homemade bread YUM!
Judi, enjoy your meeting! Some days I think it would be fun to belong to a guild but that would require me leaving the house and I don't do that often πŸ€£πŸ˜‚
Jana, they're making Mr G wait till the 18th for a kidney stone?! That's awful, I get kidney stones, I know how painful they are..... I have to take a couple little pills daily to keep mine under control, diet doesn't affect mine because mine are 50/50 I'm lucky (not). I hope he's not in unbearable pain πŸ™
Maryq, we have trains every 10 minutes out our back door but they're a couple miles away but it's a clear view of them and I-10, we hear them and I feel them, sometimes more than other times....depends on the weather and air I guess. It's kinda cool to watch all the cars going by. I get up and dressed usually by 7 but I still prefer to just stay home. I don't drink coffee or eat anything until noon LOL I do drink water 😁
Lori, I'm going to join you and Lois with OWL 😁 I decided to do it as a QAYG so I'm starting over....I only had the first block finished when I decided this last year and had just sat it aside because I was not happy with myself for thinking of that after the fact.
Chriss, do you like tomatoes? I love tuna salad on top of tomatoes, no bread or crackers needed. I have all the lights off now, after I reset the service mode it got rid of all but the 1 and after I drove it about 10 miles towards the dealer and we ate (which wasn't in the plan that day 🀷) when I started it it didn't come back on..... maybe it's one of those lights that has to be driven a few miles to reset......all the electronics are kinda crazy if you ask me LOL
Jazmyne is bringing friends over after their first class today so they'll be here for lunch and to play games after, she's requested pizza that I make so that's lunch today. Taco ring is supper tonight, it's Dad's night. Jazmyne is still staying with us..... she's such a jabberbox LOL she exhausts me when she comes in and talks 90 miles an hour about her day πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ I LOVE it!! πŸ₯°πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ She's so goofy. She "slayed" them at her FFA agronomy meeting...... I'm pretty sure that means she did really good, she said she knew all the correct answers πŸ€£πŸ˜‚
You all have a great day!
Prayers for all in need πŸ™
Tina

I hope we all have a Jazmyne day! Full of fun, excitement and jabbering πŸ’•πŸ˜πŸ₯°πŸ€£πŸ˜‚
