Good morning,
Today we are at 19* and are warming up to 37 and there is a little white stuff on the ground.
We had a wonderful day yesterday Everyone loved there quilts and Billy and Melissa were 15 minutes early so it dosent get any better than that.
Today I have to put things back where they belong and oh there is wash creeping up again so that will get done in moderation.
I'm in no rush to do anything today my son in law and my son did the remainder of the dishes yesterday so that was nice.
I want to get things back in order before I even start to think about sewing.
It sounds like everyone had a great day and I hope you continue to may you all have a great day today.
Prayers go out to all.
Lois

Good morning Lois We had a very relaxing day yesterday,,,we opted out of making the rounds and decided to relax...we did go out for a bit to see our Daughter in law...She was lonely and we havent seen her in a month she is doing well and was even able to walk a bit with a walker...She works so hard to keep her mobility,,,she is still tired and her immune system will take another 2 months to get back to normal. Her hair has not started to grow back but it will...we did wear masks just to be sure we didnt give her any stuff. Although ourb syptoms have gone. we came home and ate leftovers and I did a few stitches and watched Christmas movies...
Today is another relaxing day for me...Ken took my car to the rink and I will make some lists today of what I plan to do with all the Christmas stuff, I want to organize it and I always plan for next year as I pack the stuff away next week.
,,,We got a lot of gift cards for dinners out including a very nice steak house in toledo we have been meaning to try,,,so it was a good Christmas for us all///
I hope all of you had and have a great week .XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good Morning All
We are having a heat wave . Its 45 and going into 50s today. Today I will start taking down Christmas deco and getting out my snowmen. This is a process one room at a time . Ill do bedroom then bathroom today.
Well you get the idea. Christmas was great for me . Relaxed and Barney and I had the best T-bone steak I ever had. Talked to all the kids on facetime. Texted to many of my friends. Talked to Teresa who now lives in Fl. Then took a nap.
Barney found his bags of toys. And they are now all over my living room. Well thats Barney.
Judi Glad your having relaxing days. We all need those mixed in.
Lois You sound like me . I want to get a lot put away before sewing. But I have a birthday gift I need to get done by the february guild meeting. So I will work sewing into putting away deco.
Well I need more coffee and go walk Barney
You all have a great sewing day or relaxing.

Good morning,
Happy Boxing Day! I hope everyone had a nice Christmas. We certainly did. I made an apple pie in the morning and Bill took a large warm slice to our neighbor, Jack, who is all by himself. He seemed grateful.
TINA - prayers for your brother. I pray the MRI shows exactly what is going on with your brother and it can be treated quickly and easily. Please let us know.
BECCA - You've had a busy holiday season. Do you get to rest today or is there more fun family festivities happening?
LOIS - that was quite a varied menu! Were they all your family favorites? And how nice that the menfolk stepped up and did the dishes!
KATY - Glad you are loving your bread machine. Is it new? Did I know your sisters are twins? And you have twins or are they twin DGK's? They must run in your family. What fun to have twins! Poor Barny had to stay home.
Just so you know - in case you ever stop by our house, dogs are always welcome. It says so on our welcome door mat. How is Teresa doing? How is her health? Does she like FL?
CHRISS - what a great photo! Three generations! I hope you can take that exact same photo every Christmas as Elliott grows up. A date with your son to the Monterey Aquarium will be a date to look forward to! It's been a lot of years but Bill and I were there once. He went to a conference and I tagged along. They always had a customer appreciation event and that year it was dinner at the Aquariaum. Table were set up amongst all the large fish tanks. And they served FISH! First of all - fish! Gaaackkkk!! But second of all - everyone sat eating fish while live fish watched. Such poor taste - in so many ways. So, your house is nearly in order, Christmas is over - what are you going to do today?
JANA - what a great present - a crazy cat lady mug!! Now you need to get a kitten, but get two, they're small.
LYN - glad you got in a visit with Amanda and Maddox. Good to hear she is doing well. 4 weeks already?? I guess so - it was the day before TG she had her surgery if I remember right. What a fast month! Though maybe not for Amanda.
MARY Q - you have great kids!! What a special, thoughtful gift! Now you can get that lone diamond put on a chain and have a pendant to match! My Michael's aunt used to make krumkake every Christmas along with lots of other Scandinavian treats. She even made them for our January wedding. But I never have tried them myself.
JUDI - what a happy Christmas you had! How is Val feeling? I'm sure her visit boosted her spirits. I bet y'all can't wait to see the eventual effects of the treatment she's gone through. What are you going to do today?
LORI - Did you see Dad yesterday? How is he doing? I say a prayer for him every night.
VAL - great to have you pop in! You've been missed! Sorry you didn't get to see your kids, but I know you'd never want them to risk the drive. Is there any chance when you both are fully retired that you might move closer to them? We have friends (Bill & Mary who is a retired NICU nurse, a quilter, and a son named Mike! How is that for coincidence?!) who used to live in your area in an old 2-bedroom house. They sold it and moved to MO and and for what they sold their CA house for they were able to buy a huge 5-bedroom brick home near St. Lous.
We had a very nice day yesterday, though it began a lot later than originally planned. The A-Team have always been slow movers, but since Amara came along - well - let's just say they arrived for brunch at 4pm. But it really didn't matter. The morning was too chilly to be outside comfortably anyway. So we ended up with bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns for our Christmas dinner! Amara was dressed in her special Christmas dress we'd given her (last year). And she had big full ruffly petticoats under the skirt. They brought out of their car all the gifts we'd just hauled into their house last week! lol! So we opened gifts. Amara loved her pink sparkly cowboy boots and wore them until she opened the black patent leather Mary Jane's. Then she wanted to wear those. And the pink tea set we got her was a huge hit! We all drank many cups of imaginary tea. We get to babysit tomorrow. (I tested NEGATIVE!). I can't wait. I've missed our little girl. In all the hubbub, I forgot to serve our big dish of deviled eggs! So guess what we're having for breakfast this morning.
I was able to get more work done on my Posh Pocus but she's still not finished. For some reason I seem to have a block on this one so I need to study and carefully construct each 4" unit, one at a time. I've struggled with it and I know I'll never be making this pattern again. So - anyone want it? Lois? Lori? Lois's Sandi? Anyone?? I dare you!!
Today I hope to finish that witchy witch. Also, we're going to wash our sheets, towels and, the dog rugs. One washer in our laundry room here at the park is designated for pet blankets and rugs. Tomorrow or Saturday we'll do clothes. I was planning to take down the inside Christmas stuff, but it's pretty and I enjoy looking at it so I think we'll wait until Saturday. I never made our white chicken chili the other night so that's what we're having tonite. Our Seahawks are playing Thurs Night Football so we'll be enjoying that chili while we watch them hopefully win.
That's all Folks!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. It was nice here. After dark took DGD outside to run off some energy, and we had some unexpected snow flurries for her to play in.
Still getting flack from my siblings because I couldn't make it to NJ for my sister's funeral...
I need prayers. My oldest bot, the truck driver that lives here in Missouri, is have a kidney dialysis port put in in Feb. He doesn't need dialysis yet, but it's just in case. This port can be used by over road drivers....pray everything goes well.

Good morning Girls
And yes, Happy Boxing Day! Though I did look it up once, I don't remember what it actually is, but I know when my kids lived in Canada it was a big deal up there.
Lois.... Billy and Melissa were EARLY??? We used to tell Shawn and Kris to come at an earlier time because they were always late too, especially when the grandkids were little, but it really hasn't changed that much since they are grown up! Funny how that laundry can sneak up on you!!
Judi... Are you getting bug to un-decorate? I used to leave everything up until January 1st, but I'm thinking I might do it this weekend! And every year I promise myself that I'm going to get it all super organized and all the boxes labeled. If I do it this weekend, then Shawn and Bren will be around to hoist it up in the attic in the garage. Good to hear that DDIL is doing well. How do she feel about the progress? Does she think it's helping. Was she confined to wheel chair before?
Katy.... You are taking down Christmas too? Your Barney sounds almost like a 2 year kid with toys every where. But those Christmases with the kids and toys are some of my fondest memories! Staying Up all night putting things together from Santa Claus!
Maryz.... Brunch at 4pm!!! Funny how things change when there's a little girl that needs a nap! I'm guessing she was in much better spirits after an afternoon snooze! Oh my gosh, patent leather maryjanes? Doesn't every little girl need patent leather shoes! I know Jen had a pair, I think I even saved them for a long time, but I have no idea where they are ! Jen had a pair of cute little red oxfords too and those I think she has somewhere! We missed our bet on the Vikings/Seahawks game!!! I don't even know who won that one!!
Becca.... My goodness ---sure sounds like a lot of family for your Christmas too!! 12 Desserts? Man I'd be in heaven!! Prayers for your Caleb! I've heard that Duke is an excellent medical Center.
Chriss.... What a Beautiful picture of your boys!! Has you Dad been able to see Elliott in person? Now that would be a great picture! Four generations! What's Dad's next project at your house?
Lori.... Prime Rib Roast!! Nummy!! Did you have some horse radish sauce for it! That's the best! How is Dad doing? Do you know when he can go back to the home? Or did I miss it and he's home already.
Flo.... Sending prayers for your son. Hope your family will realize how difficult it would have been for you to get to NJ. Not everybody can just hop on a plane!
Ended up staying home yesterday. Tom and Viv weren't feeling great, probably the cold and sniffles that Judi had. So I thought better I should stay home and hopefully they are feeling better today so I'll go over later this afternoon. Katie was alone too, so we visited for a bit then I came home and sewed most of the afternoon. .Had left over Manicotti for supper then parked myself on the couch! This morning I have to call and see if my car is ready--if it is Evie will give me a ride over to pick it up and I'll stop by and see Peggy on my way back.
If you guys have a spare prayer..... remember my niece that I made the purple wedding quilt for? She has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I think she's 29? Anyway, they will do some surgery in a few weeks. I'm guessing they will remove her thyroid gland and start her on meds to replace what the thyroid does. They were looking to start a family soon so this I'm sure was quite a blow. I'm going to call my brother later, but since we are all firm believers in the power of prayer, I know Tim would appreciate the prayers. And I also found out yesterday that I need to make TWO baby quilts next year!!! My baby's brother's daughter is having a baby boy! Funny... My niece Meagan is due with a girl on May 8th and niece Samantha is due with a boy on May 12th!
Well, I better go make a phone call and see if my car is ready!! If it's not, I'll skip the shower today!
Wishing you all a happy Boxing Day!

Happy day after Christmas!
Chriss, What a wonderful picture! I love Elliott's look and wonder what he was thinking. Mom, why are you standing over there? Are they going to squish me between them? Have you gotten a 4 generation picture with your Dad? Did Elliott like this toys? You would have had to share the celery and peanut butter, it's one of my favorites.
Lois, Sounds like you had a great day. Nice of the guys to help with dishes.
Judi, I bet it was great to visit the DIL in person. Thanks for mentioning dinner gift cards, I had forgot about one. My SIL emailed us a gift card to Texas Roadhouse and I need to figure out how it works.
Katy, A T-bone steak sounds yummy. How'd you fix it? I will walk Minnie soon, maybe I will see you and Barney.
MaryZ, I bet y'all had fun watching Ms Boots opening presents. We're twins, we ate our dinner and I opened the frig to put leftovers away and there sat the Ranch Eggs.
We did eat a couple and have the rest today. Thanks for mentioning Boxing Day, I need to text the Canada kids.
Becca, It sounds like you had a great day. Prayers for Caleb.
Flo, Sorry family is ragging on you. Maybe when they start, just stop their talking with reminding them of a memory of your sister. Prayers for your son.
MaryQ, I hope your car is ready. Sad to hear about your niece. Sending prayers. Another baby quilt. That should keep you busy for a few days.
Yesterday was quiet. Texted some family and friends. Took Minnie for a walk around the park and visited friends who were out enjoying the weather. I went to start dinner and lifted up the end of the bed, I use some of the storage under the bed as extra pantry space, and found little bugs!! Grrr They weren't there on Monday. So I cleaned that up and found they came from an open box of Bisquick. Needless to say, dinner was later than I had planned. We didn't watch the football game because we don't have Netflix, but that may change. You Tube TV is going up in price, again, in January. It's not worth it, so time to find other streaming options.
Not sure what I will do today, maybe nothing.
Lyn

Good morning!
Cloudy , we may get more snow. What we got yesterday was gone in a hour. Supposedly there are five storms lined up waiting.
Haven't heard from Sarah yet this morning. She was planning on leaving very early for California. If she got off as planned, she's got at that, she should be near Elko Nevada. They are planning to cross Donner in the daylight, this afternoon. Funeral tomorrow and late tomorrow afternoon head back and will stay in Auburn, just a the foot of the Sierras. Then at daylight, head back over Donner and get here, by Saturday afternoon. I gave them very strict instructions as where not to go while they are in California. The cemetery is in my old stomping grounds, where I grew up as a kid. I knew then the places to stay out off and it's worst now! But, I know them, they'll listen to a point. I also gave them much better directions than google! Google was sending them way around to hockeysticks and back to get there! In fact, they'll drive right by the house I grew up in as well. Sarah remembers that house, she was about 5 when my mom moved back here. On the way back, they'll cross the over Carquienz bridge, my dad worked on. My dad was a ironworker and built most of the bridges on the San Francisco Bay. Even the Golden Gate. The arch part on the San Francisco side is what he help build. Yup, my old stomping grounds.
Today will be starting the cleaning of this disaster! Christmas stays up until after New Year's, then down. I have my totes labeled, from last year. By stuff and weight. We weighed each box to keep the weight between 12- 15 pounds each. To make it easier on Mr Grumpy to haul back down to the Batt Cave. But he can't anymore, so it's still easy on my grands to take them down. We don't trust Mr G with carrying stuff on the stairs. He still has a depth perception problem from the time of the bypass surgery. Mr G has a habit of missing the last step as he goes down the stairs, any set of stairs, so we watch closely.
Laundry, donation pile, and getting into trouble. That's easy, around here!
Hugs and prayers,
Jana
Cloudy , we may get more snow. What we got yesterday was gone in a hour. Supposedly there are five storms lined up waiting.

Re: Thursday December 26,2024
Good morning everyone
Chriss, that's a wonderful picture

and yes, you should get your dad in a picture with you 3.
Lois, we used to have to tell my mom at least 45 minutes early so she'd only be 10 minutes late LOL she still wouldn't make it on time.
Judi, glad you got to visit your DDIL
I bet she was so happy to get to see you. Gift cards to eat out are so nice, I love receiving those.
Katy, your dinner sounded so yummy! I bet Barney wouldn't have minded sharing

Maryz, so glad you're negative! Amara and Elijah sound like they could be twins
our Christmas was postponed until 1 and it was supposed to be at 10
all because of Elijah and sleeping late. He has so much energy when he's awake but when he needs sleep, he NEEDS sleep.
Becca, your day yesterday sounds wonderful too
Prayers for Celeb for sure
Flo, that sounds pretty awesome going out in the dark and playing in falling snow! Prayers for your son
Maryq, I hope your car is ready today! Prayers for your niece
. Congratulations on the 2 new additions coming next year!
Lyn, peanut butter and celery is my favorite too! We found little bugs in our hutch drawer last week and there's no food anywhere near it, crazy huh.....it was emptied out and it and everything in it was cleaned too, right in the middle of us doing cookies one day, sure puts a wrinkle in time when you're busy doing other things.
Jana, we're a little overcast here, sure would like some moisture, can you send me some please? Prayers for safe travels for your family
Jamie is home, they just released him. They did his MRI this morning and it showed everything is good, no neurological damage of any kind. They want him to see his regular Dr in 2 weeks but they're best guess is he had transient global amnesia, I have to look it up still so I'm not a good source for what that means. I'm so thankful that it's not a stroke or seizure or anything that messed up parts of him badly. He lost 8 hours and still doesn't have a clue what happened.
I left the rest of my kitchen till this morning (not something I do) the kids and Frankie cleaned up about 85% last night but I was too tired to finish it before we went to bed. I slept for 7 hours straight last night, no potty break either LOL, that's how tired I was. We had a wonderful day, everyone was really good and happy and helpful. We played Mexican train dominoes till 9:30 and I called it quits so Kevin and Maria could get ready to leave which packing everything and getting them some leftovers and Jamie and Janelle food and goodies and gifts to take home took over an hour and they didn't get home till about 12:15 because it takes right at an hour and 20 minutes from our door to theirs.
Holly and the kids will be here in a little bit for the day and maybe we can play more dominoes because I love playing games with them and they all take after me
Dad will be here for supper and with all us we'll eat up all the leftovers, win win.
You all have a great day! Prayers for those in need
