Good morning ,

Becca it's nice to see you posting thanks for opening the thread.

Jana I hope all goes well for Michael's home coming today.

Mary Z I hope they get you up and running real soon.

Today my car has to go in to get work done so Bill is dropping it off and his brother will take him back home and then bring him back for it later it needs new tires and alot of little things and the grand total for that will be close to 2000.00.
So I will be home upstairs I sandwiched the penguin quilt yesterday afternoon so that will go on the frame sometime today .

Well it's time for me to get dressed and figure out breakfast and then what to make for dinner.
Everyone have a great day.
Prayers for all .

Good morning

Becca, so nice to see you. So sorry to hear about your doctors office. It truly brings home the scope of the devastation from Helene. Looks like you have your marching orders for Thanksgiving! Where will Thanksgiving be for you?

Lois, you are really going to town with your quilting machine. Reading about your truck, sounds like a paragraph I might write – Bill took truck in, brother-in-law brought him back. Probably in the neighborhood of $2000. Let’s hope it’s cheaper for both of us

I have no idea what today will bring. We got the word last night that they haven’t even opened the hood on our pick-up yet. But I guess we’re supposed to be first in line this morning and just checking it out should take all day. If something is wrong then, who knows how long we will be here

This morning, my brother-in-law goes to his eye doctor for shots in his eye. So they are tied up for the morning at least. Good thing I brought lots of books.

In a thrift store yesterday, I came across a nativity set. I made the same one when I was 18 years old. I saw online 10 years ago it was worth was worth about $350. It’s one of my biggest treasures but I gave it to Autumn last Christmas and she puts it up now. This second set was fired but not painted. I couldn’t resist it so I bought it. It’s missing a couple pieces, but I happen to have a couple extra pieces at home that I have picked up in thrift shops over the years in case one broke. I know one of the replacement pieces - a camel - will go into this new set. When I get home I think I will do this set in ivory and antique it. The weird thing is that on the bottom of the pieces is carved the initials “MZ, 1980“. I made my first set in 1970 and when you do ceramics, you do carve your initials in the greenware before it’s fired. Kind of eerie that my initials are already there.

I’ll check back later.

Sunny but crisp 41° out. Should hit mid 70° today.

Becca, So good to see your post. Are you back home or still at your daughter's? Your cake sounds yummy.

Jana, Prayers for Michael and you. Hope he recovers quickly.

Lois, You're really going to town on that new quilting machine.

MaryZ, I hope you have answers today and an easy fix.

Sharona, Hope you build up your blood and strength. Praying for ya.

Judi, I've been to that Christmas store, my little nativity came from there.

Chriss, Hope you get the binding on the quilt before your visit this weekend.

Yesterday's big event was power washing the porches, a couple loads of laundry and getting a quote from insulation guy. The insulation will be installed next Thursday.

This morning has started out weird. I woke up about 6 and saw bathroom door closed, so thought Garry was in there. I open my eyes about 20 minutes later and he's not back in bed, so I call out and ask if he's OK. He answered from the living room!! He was up showered, dressed and sitting in his recliner. This is the man who I have to pull out of bed at noon. It will be an interesting day.

Hope y'all have a great day.

Good morning everyone and Happy Thursday! 9 more nights! I think everything is in order now. Thought I had applied for Part B but apparently I didn't . So did that yesterday. Whole list of things on yesterdays calendar. 3 visits today. All about 40 miles apart. I also have an 8:45 meeting today online. I better set my alarm so I don't forget.

I have about half the cutting done for my class on Saturday. Hoping to get the rest cut tonight or tomorrow.

We are 51 now, says high of 52 so not much work it has to do to reach that. We did get rain yesterday but not much. Rain to return on Sunday but that is not calling for much either.

Lois I used to like Kohl's but last time I was there I didn't find anything. Clothes shopping is not my favorite thing to do.

Maryz here is the link to the shop picture. I think I know the one you are referring too, I think this one is different. I actually think I like this one better. https://www.clothcarousel.com/shop/c/p/ ... 375952.htm Bummer about the truck, but sure glad you got a truck to park. Of all the silly rules. I have thought about it though and think it's because in case of a fire, you would need to move the RV ASAP. Is it possible that the ceramic piece started out as yours? Wouldn't that be a hoot.

Tina you crawled around on the floor? I always regret doing that as it gets the knees to hurting and stiff. This cold weather is getting to mine, no senses in adding the floor to it.

Jana sorry to hear Mr. G is having additional health concerns. Praying that all is fixed now and he will be back to normal. How far are you from SLC?

Sharona if you are reading this, we are saying prayers for you.

Chriss Parents can be troublesome at times. Be thankful for every minute you have with them. I am going to pray for your Dad though as I am not sure I like the idea of him putting in a ceiling fan. Won't that involve a ladder? Maybe you should stay home when he does this. It has been almost a year since Dad passed away and I still sometimes think "oh better check the meds' or silly things like that.

Katy nice to see you. Please let me know when the raspberry cobler is ready, I will be right there. Love, love, love raspberries. UHM, a triangle could make a nice veggie garden area.

Irish love resell shops. Did you get there? What treasures did you find?

Becca wow, the whole office gone? That's going to be a big expense. I am sure they have insurance but insurances can be tricky. Always good to hear from you.

Lois that's a big repair bill, but yes, tires are getting expensive. I faint whenever DH needs to tires on his truck. I will need tires soon, hope they are less than yours.

Lyn that is very weird. I think I will send up as short prayer.

Well time is traveling on and I have lots to do before my 8:45 meeting. Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful day.

Good Morning Becca and all others,,,becca I glad you feeling better,,,hope you continue to progress.
I was up and started laundry, It is pouring rain here, we expect it to rain all day. I have no therapy today so I will gt busy with housework...Christmas gifts are starting to arrive, I only buy for the littles..and if I get a request from the bigs...Everyone get gift cards...I think I will go down the basement to the Christmas storage and see if I have enough wrapping paper and other stuff. i stopped putting ribbons on the gifts they are the first thing to hiy the floor on Christmas eve,, I need to call and order a fresh turkey and start to plan my part of thanksgiving,,also known as the feast,,,
Maryz I have empathy for you and the truck saga. We had the same happen a few years ago when the oil pump went bad,,,($4000 later and 4 days) But the plus side was the nicest camp ground we have ever stayed in...
Lyn Im glad you were able to visit the Christmas store...I also bought 2 nativity sets there and they have a life size one in the lobby ( Ken said absolutely NOT)
Lois it is a week for car and truck repairs...Mine needs an oil change,,,have fun quilting,

Good morning. It's going to be a wonderful day today. Looks like it could rain but I bet it skips me and moves on to the mountains and hopefully turns into snow.

My goal is to finish that quilt and not get distracted. I'll post a picture when I am done. It's only 5 inch squares. I also want to get my rooms in order, but need to see what my dad is planning. He's sort of been my bump in the road while wearing his cape and mask coming to my aid. He wants me to have things done now so I can make this my house, I want to get things done then do the finishing work so I cn make it my house. We have the same goal but have different paths to take to get there. I am so grateful for him.

O'Dorothy, Yep, that was me, dancing on the way to my car heading to the thrift store. I do sometimes leave things in the car and bring them into the house as time permits. Maybe we're related? how were the resell shops? You might think about adding the appropiate amount of quarters for your winnings envelopes so that people could shop and the dollar and a quarter store, that would be funny

Judi, wow girl, you got a lot done yesterday. Ken is spoiling you. glad the shopping is done and you can tend to other things. I just googled the Bronners store, it is massive. I bet it's a fun place to go. Did Val get to where her proceedure is going to be? when will it get started?

Jana, phew!!! glad all is well with the grumpster. It's good to exhale.

Becca, I wondered who stirred up the roosters this morning, thanks for getting us up this morning. I think applesauce caramel cake sounds heavenly. Are you back in your place now or still with the kids? Hope all is well.

Lois, yay for you diving right in to that new quilting frame. I have to say you have more gumption than I have. I would be intimidated, but not you, you jump right in there and give it a shot.

Maryz, what a great find in that nativity set. woo hoo for you.

Lyn, I will get the binding on that quilt, I am a procrastinator, I put things off then hurry and get them done. I need to work on that. Funny that Garry is up and has started his day, wonder what happened?

Valerie, only 9 nights left? dang, that is going quickly, well quickly for me anyway. Dad is ok on a ladder, he's very careful and makes sure he moves slowly. He really prefers to work alone without my stepmom stopping him every five minutes (not exagerating) to see if he needs help. It's a comedy, she stops him to ask if he needs help, he doesn't wear his hearing aids so has to stop and say huh? she repeats herself, he says he doesn't need help she says I'll stay out of your way, he goes back to work, she sits down and plays solitaire on her phone and in less than 5 minutes it all gets repeated. So, she and I go on an adventure. If they come up today we will go get my glasses and come home the long way around.

Not sure what dinner tonight will be. I have meatloaf and chicken thawing.

Hope you all have a superb day,
Chriss

Good morning!

A beautiful day here. Cold, but what the hey, it's November!

Michael finally got back in the room late yesterday. The procedure was text book,. All the after surgery stuff took longer. Being around him all the time, I didn't notice how much color from his face was missing. Until they brought him back after surgery. He had color in his face and cheeks! He's needed this pacemaker for awhile! Michael will need Occupational Therapy for his shoulder, where they put the pacemaker in. Right now, no raising his arms or stretching . They even have his arm strapped down to his side. Especially at night. Only for a few days. Thank y'all so much for prayers. I daily see how prayer works and has continually in our lives. The Lord is always there and hears and answers. Sometimes it's immediately, other times, it's in His time, but they always are answered.

Sarah will bring Michael home. It's a very long walk from car to room and then repeat for me. Plus we don't know the timing of his release and we have the little girls as Kate and Aaron are on duty. So I'm on school pick up duty. I can do that.

So my waiting time, I'll fill it with laundry and uglies.

Judi - Scrooge lives here too. I read him your shopping receipt story. He added to it, by reminding me, that my credit card finks on me before I get home! He has set up notification to his computer anytime the card is used. We have a code acronym for this time of year - NUNYA. None of your business! He might know what store I shopped at, just not what, until after Christmas.

Hugs
Jana

Good morning Girls

Yikes... It's Thursday already!! It's my baby boy Kevin's Birthday today 44! He's the baby that was almost born in the car. I arrived at hospital about 12:10am and he was born at 12:28am. So we are going to meet for lunch later.

Becca... It's so great to see you! Applesauce Carmel Cake.. Oh my gosh that sounds delicious!!! I can only imagine, from pictures we saw on the news of the damage left from Helene, how devasted your area is. To have you doctors office washed away! I hope your family and neighbors are doing ok. I've seen things on Facebook about donating quilts, and I would gladly if I had an easy way to get them there!

Lois..... Did you find a new coat? So you are really getting the hang of your Gracie frame? I'm going to seriously look into after New Years, perhaps I'll find a used one somewhere close by.

Maryz.... Wow, it must be a sign that that Nativity piece has your initials on it!! Let's hope they get your truck first up this morning and that it's an easy and cheap repair and gets you on the road soon. You sure don't want to run into and snow as you head south.

Lyn... Yikes, Garry was up at 0600!!! Did he have some place he wanted to go?

Valerie.... I clicked the link that brought up that panel!! OH my gosh it's darling!!! What fun that will be for Xavier! So many fun things to look at! NINE for days!!! You'll be retired just in time to have a nice relaxing Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Judi... How did it go for you shopping yesterday? Did you get tired easily? Nice to have the wheelchair back up. Is everybody coming to your house for Thanksgiving?

Jana.... Several times yesterday as I was running around Target getting groceries, I was thinking of Mr. G and sending little prayers that surgery was successful and he will be home soon! It's kind of amazing when you think about it, that you can have surgery like that and go home the next day!

Chriss... Are you going to go down to Richard & Gloria's for Thanksgiving? If I lived closer I'd baby Moose for you so you could stay a couple extra days!! I'm kind of behind here so did you decide on blinds and/or curtains for your windows? Did you get new ones installed yet?

Guess I better get in gear here. Have a little shine up to do before I go meet Kevin for lunch.

Sending lots of prayers all day for Michael, Sharon, Val, and Sophie and all in need!

Becca, good to see you posting.

Lois, I dislike having to take my car in for stuff. The Penguin quilt is really cute.

Maryz, funny about the nativity having your initials on them. Sure hope they get to your truck today.

Lyn, that is odd that Gary was up. Maybe he couldn't sleep and thought he should just start the day.

Val, I will apply for Medicare next year. I plan on making appointments with my retirement people and Social security. I still have 11 1/2 months to figure it out.

Judi, have you started to put up your Christmas decorations yet? I know you have a lot to do. Sounds like your knee is getting better every day.

Chriss, hope you are able to finish your quilt today.

Jana, so glad everything went well for Michael. That's a big relief for you as well.

Maryq, happy birthday to your youngest. I know you will have a nice lunch together.

The boys have been walked and Bill is golfing. I pulled out another quilt I started and has been sitting around for a while. I have 9 more blocks and I can figure out the layout. The blocks are simple 8 1/2 inches. I need to put away my Halloween fabrics as well. I pulled a bunch out when I did the Merrie Halloween. I also need to get my dad a new belt. I went yesterday, but the shopping center was without power, and they can't do anything when that happens. Remember when things would just carry on because we didn't rely on power for everyday things? Not anymore. It will be the demise of civilization. lol

Dinner will be leftover tortellini soup and bread.

Have a lovely day.
