Good morning, Lois and everybody else In the 40s here, but sunny and blue skies
I’m doing some laundry today. I have a kitchen to clean and trying to figure out something for supper.
I drove the car yesterday went up and got milk. Ken was with me. It’s about 5 miles to the dairy store. We get our milk from a local farm that has a little store. They also make the world’s best ice cream so Ken bought some of that too.
Hope everyone is having a good day Prayers going out to all that need them and those that don’t think they do XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

On my phone as charging the laptop top. Charges faster when it's off. Still waiting on the results of our mayor race. It has been a nail biter. Still neck and neck in the count. Separated by only 0.1%.

End up having to take a nausea pill yesterday so wasted the day away. It makes me very sleepy. Went to bed 5:30. I m better today. One patient to see today, then slow stitch tonight. Also a baby shower at slow stitch. That is if there is power. Due to the number of fires caused by PGE lines, there now turn the power off during these dry high wind days. We have a generator at the house but it would take a pretty big unit to run the shop. Right now it's scheduled to be back on at 10:30 this morning. We will see. Winds have died down.

I am off to get some breakfast, maybe work on my yearly classes for work before I leave for the day. Guess I better pick up a baby gift sometime today also.

Have a great day!

Good morning

On my phone, so this will be quick. Had great travel day yesterday. Good weather, good road, light traffic. Abt 215 miles. Had leftover chili relleno casserole for supper. Today should also be a good run thru SE WA (wine country) and crossing the Columbia into OR. We’ll be crossing the Blue Mtns which is a beautiful drive, thru Pendleton and on to Baker City where we’ll spend the night and meet up with Gene and the Big Tree tomorrow morning. Tonight’s supper will be chili over half a baked potato with a small salad.

That’s about all I have for today. Time for breakfast and a bit of a dog walk before hitting the road.

Have a marvelous day!

Good morning!

Bright, beautiful and sunny. Oh so deceptive, it's below freezing out there! We'll warm up to just about freezing. Glad I'm in for today!

My roof elves have rescheduled to Monday next week. I put away all my Halloween stuff yesterday and just the fall is still out. Got all my uglies done too, so it's playtime today.

Yesterday Sarah shared a chicken story with me. She has about 10 chickens in her coop. The chickens had knocked out of balance the automatic water feeder, so her DH, Joseph needed to relevel it. Joseph let his "girls" out to roam the yard a bit. Back in the yard Sarah has her garden and a large koi pond with several quite large koi. All the chickens decided at the same time to run over to the pond and get a drink. Stepping. On, knocking over and out of the way, the other chickens. You know where this is going, yup, one of the chickens fell in the pond. Chickens hate to get wet! Joseph figured that he had to Wade in and rescue this chickens but she managed to get out. So now he has a soaking wet chicken and the temperature is dropping into the 20's for the overnight temp. Joseph had the brilliant idea to bring in the wet hen and dry her off. So when Sarah got home, she found Joseph, fully dressed, sitting in the bathtub, holding the wet chicken, using Sarah's hair dryer, giving the hen a blowdry styling! Joseph got the hen all nice and dry, fluffy too! Chickens can be very entertaining!

Kari did get the final, official job offer and accepted it. She's getting a smaller increase that she asked for, but better benefits. Kari is very excited to work for this company. Her old company has changed corporate hands and it's not a good place to work anymore. Kari will still be remote and her territory is Utah for all the underwriting she does. All good. Joseph got a promotion too for the company he works for.

So it's playtime at the Batt Cave for me.

Enjoy the day safe travels, and do fun stuff! It's great to be us!

Hugs and prayers,
Jana

Good morning. It's going to be a beautiful day today. We should see 71 degrees. Hoping that means I can open the house up for a while.

This morning, I will do a little sewing. I got Elliott's quilt sandwiched and want to stitch in the ditch. It's only about 50x50 so should go quickly. But first, I am moving my sewing room around a little bit. This afternoon I go give blood. I've never given blood before so this will be a new experience for me.

Lori, I laughed when I turned on Jeopardy last night, I'm also glad the commercials are done for 4 more years. Glad your dad is adjusting, change is difficult. I think both you and I are good daughters. The granola was really good. He left out the coconut, added flax seed and changed up the nuts but here's the recipe https://www.sugarfreemom.com/recipes/cr ... la/#recipe

Lois, I'll meet you in the sewing room. hope you find everything you are shopping for.

Judi, I bet Ken goes to the dairy store often now that he knows he can get ice cream. Hope the driving went well and that you get your chores done. Nice to be mobile again I bet.

Valerie, they also shut off the power around here if there are winds or fire danger. They are supposed to be putting the power lines underground, but there are a lot of lines and that will not be done in my lifetime. They have replaced some of the wood poles that burned in the fires with metal poles. The power lines that go from the pole to my house are underground. Hope sew day happens for you.

Maryz, so glad that your travels are going well.

Jana, quite a chicken story. glad you are inside too. Lois and I are going to be in the sewing room, you could join us.

I thawed out a roast for the crock pot but it's still a bit frozen. debating if I should still put it in the crock pot or wait until tomorrow.

Moose and I have dinner around 4:30. Actually, I eat and he licks the plate. Not sure if tonights dinner will be roast or if we will have hot dogs or a sandwich of some kind. Or I could make tuna salad.

I hope you all have a fun day.

Overcast day, 71°.

MaryZ, Safe travels. I'm not sure Larry would hold up a sign.

Yesterday was really nice. Carol and I checked out some shops we'd never been in. Had a Mexican lunch at a place we'd never tried. It was good. I stopped at an Antique store on my way home. I was looking for a rack to hold my rulers. I have one at the Colorado house, it's still in use. I told the shop owner what I was looking for and we wandered thru the place. She pulled some small dishes off a rack and asked if it would work. YES. It had a tag that said, "display", but no price. I was a happy shopper when she said, "How about $5.?" It's perfect and very decorative.

I have some phone calls to make and then I'm not sure what I will do, maybe nothing. I haven't done nothing in a while. Hope y'all have a good day.

Judi, Yay...driving again. I bet you'll be independent sooner than later.

Lyn, what a great idea for a ruler holder.

Chriss, Jeopardy is the only thing I watch consistently. Thanks for the recipe. One day I'll try it out. Wrigley and Jack like to like plates too. They must be Moose's brothers from another mother.

Jana, I bet that was comical if anyone saw it.

Maryz, Can't wait to hear about the tree. Safe travels.

Val, have fun slow stitching.

Lois, I like mid 70's to low 80's. It's going to be 75 here today. Perfect fall weather.

We're going to try a Costco run again this morning. Hopefully this one goes better than the last.
Then I'll take dad for a haircut. When I get home I need to clean a bit.

Have a lovely day.

Good morning everyone 🌞
We're cool today but I love it! When I walked this morning is was 40° high will only be 54°, perfect! We got a little rain last night, up north they were expecting 44" of snow! I warned Maryz.
Lois, I think you and I love the same weather temps. Happy quilting.
Judi, yay for driving and getting milk and ice cream! I keep forgetting to tell you, when I get heartburn I eat yogurt, it really helps me....it helps with upset stomach too and especially if I'm on antibiotics.
Valerie, that is a close race, they'll have to do a recount with it that close. I would think they should be putting all your power lines underground. I say quit buying bread too 😁
Maryz, safe travels. Watch the snow in Colorado, it looks bad.
Jana, how cool that they dress up as Elves to decorate, that's awesome! I laughed at the chicken story, I have chickens too, they're funny. I hope all the paperwork got taken care of without problems. I'm the one that does ours, Frankie doesn't want to.
Chriss, how fun to be finishing up Elliott's quilt, is this his first one? Underground power lines sound like the way to go and much needed. I put frozen meat or partially really in my crock pot all the time, it's always yummy.
Lyn, that's a pretty cool way to hold your rulers. I hope you find the perfect frame for your LA. How long till your sewing shed will be finished?
Lori, I hope your Costco run is a success today.
Maryq, did you take pics of your floor?
Sharon, are you ok?
Today is Holly's and Easton's birthdays 🎉🥰 the nurses were so excited for her having him on her birthday ❤️ I'm doing a cupcake run at noon today to get them at Walmart and then deliver to his classroom, they don't allow homemade for a lot of things 🤷 otherwise I'd just make him some for his class. He's requested Chile rellenos for supper tomorrow night so I'm making those plus maybe a cake or pecan pie.
You all have a great day!
Prayers for those in need 🙏
Tina
