Good morning Judi and all who follow.

Glad the election is over, yes Judi I agree, God's will will be done regardless of what we think. Prayer works. We may not know God's plan but we will one day. I know a lot of drivers here who need to practice driving! Maybe you can give them lessons.

Today was to be Free Sew but we are having wind storm and PGE has turned off power. So quilt shop has no power to make our machine's sing. They will likely be closed. I will keep checking.

Have a roast to put in the crock pot. Will do some sewing/cutting at home today if can't go to the shop. I ended up watching a lot of TV yesterday again. I really need to stop doing that! I just feel so tired all the time. I think one more day on the ATB then just wait out the cough.

I sent my resignation. Only the HR person acknowledged it. UHM. not sure what that was about but I sent it and have acknowledgement that it was received so I am good.

Hope everyone is well. Maryz safe travels. Sharona any word?

God of all nations, Father of the human family, we give you thanks for the freedom we exercise
and the many blessings of democracy we enjoy in these United States of America.

Good morning

It's going to be another 80⁰ day I wish it would start to get to the right weather for this time of year and yes thank God the election is over
Some might not be happy but God just dosent like ugly.

On Monday my feet were hurting so I went on amazon and ordered ankle support socks and they are great so I'm going to get a couple of more pairs .

Today is upstairs to quilt and when it gets to hot I will come back down thats all I can do with this crazy weather.

Well thats it for me Everyone have a great day.
Prayers go out to all.

I like waking up to what I consider good news!

Judi, No speeding in the driveway. It's good to hear that you are getting behind the wheel again.

Valerie, Hope you have a generator at home if the power goes off. Or do you have a hand crank machine? I actually own a Singer hand crank, but it was damaged in the floods.

Lois, Would a fan help upstairs? The temp is starting at 44° here, but will be 79° later and I will love it. Better that than the 2" of snow on the steps in Colorado.

Yesterday was quiet. We voted and I made some phone calls. My DB & SIL got back to Colorado before the next storm coming in.

Today I'm heading into Marble Falls and meeting my friend, Carol. We'll do some shopping and have lunch. It will be nice to have a girl's visit. Hope y'all have a good day.

Good morning,

Well, it's over. And I don't mind telling you, I'm happy! Though I feel for those who are not. I hope we can bring our country back together again. But whatever are the news people going to do with all their spare time now?

Yesterday I got all my chores done. The house isn't Katy clean but it's good enough for who it's for. I'm done packing, the trailer is hitched up and parked on the cement launching pad at the side of the house. I have chiro appt at 9 and a dr appt at 10:30. When I get home, we're on our way.

JANA - please clear out all that snow cuz we're coming your way! I've been watching hurricane forecast, worrying about your kids. Have you heard from them?

DIANE - I see you popped in! How are Joe and Laura doing? Are you sewing these days? What are your Thanksgiving plans this year?

IRISH - Yes, Bill has been getting his dental work done at a dentist in Algodones, Mexico (across from Yuma) for 17 years. In the summer she works in America and in winter, she's in Mexico. Being a dental chicken I've never been able to bring myself to go to anyone but my own dentist, but at $1900 per crown, maybe I'll put on my big girl panties and do it. My massage therapist is a huge English bull dog fan and has always had two of them. I often see pictures of his "babies". And you are right - can anything ever make them pretty? But they are lovable! Tim and Kathy are certainly getting the most out of life! Good for them!

LYN - maybe I'll see your brother when I see MY brother in Loveland! Tell him to hold up a big sign saying, "Lyn's Bro!"

LORI - dinner out last night - where did you go? Italian? Mexican? Regular? Happy birthday to your birthday people!

MARY Q - Did you have a happy birthday? I bet first thing this morning, you go into your sewing room and admire your beautiful new birthday floor! Where did you go to dinner last night? So glad your family was there to celebrate with you! Nothing better!

JANA - Well, you learn something new every day - and now you know more about fireplace switches! Did Sarah get her hair cut? It's surprising how much hair weighs. I am not surprised that her long long hair is exacerbating her headaches. I'm sure she looks very cute in her new 'do'.

VAL - I'm so excited for you! I know how I felt when I suddenly decided I was done and the weight fell off my shoulders. I felt FREE! And I loved my job in the NICU, but when I was done, I was DONE. And I've never regretted retiring. I have a hard time keeping up with all your sewing. Where do you keep all your WIPS so they are handy and ready to go when you want to work on them? I simply don't have room to work on more than one at a time. But then I'm a spreader-outer no matter what I'm working on - sewing, scrapbooking, cooking, etc. I liked your little prayer. Every night for the past few months I prayed, not for a particular candidate, but for the best result for our country and the world.

TINA - So now how does Dad like his new dr? Did you go along or did he take himself? Sorry about the dresser drawer accident. Hope he didn't do any lasting damage to his self. And I hope your winds died down. I hate wind - except for when I'm wanting all the leaves finally down in fall. You said you spent the day sewing a few days ago. What project are you working on now? I've got my magazine with the Heart of the Home pattern you did tucked into my truck bag for studying as we roll along. It's on my 2025 list though I haven't decided on color scheme yet. Probably similar to the picture in the magazine.

JUDI - I'm sorry to hear about your heartburn. Do you think your ulcer is acting up again? Hope you get to all the doctors you need to see SOON. Good luck in the car and the driveway! Maybe soon Ken can take you to a deserted parking lot to practice. Friend Tex bought himself at least one night in the hospital. He had a lot of nausea and his nerve block was wearing off by late afternoon, sooner than expected so he was having quite a bit of pain. But he texted Bill at 5 am this morning, sounded good, has been up walking, and is happy with the result of the surgery.

LOIS - so good to hear Rosie is home from rehab. Does she live close to you? Will you be helping her out some? I can't believe you are still in the 80's in November. Any day now we'll hear you're having a blizzard! Mother Nature is weird sometimes.

SHARONA - saying a prayer for you!! Hoping you are back with us soon. I'm also thinking of your son's FIL with all those horrendous injuries and pray he is on the path to healing.

So you know my day - chiro, dr, and then into the truck and off! Still watching weather to decide on our route. Maybe we'll flip a coin.

I'll try to check in by phone daily.

Y'all be safe, be happy, be grateful.

Hugs from Mary Z

Good morning!

Made the decision yesterday not to watch results, but flipped them on several times. No sound, just the numbers I checked. The country has spoken and now all need to come and work together. You maybe happy, you may not, but this is not the time for division. We have a great opportunity. Let God prevail in our lives and He will bless and do great things for all.

Today, this morning, in fact, the Christmas light company will be here. It's part of my Christmas present from Mr G, so he told me. I'm good with that. Christmas goodies early!

We went out grocery shopping yesterday too. Even went to Costco and nothing extra jumped into my cart! I packed away my Halloween decorations and have just the fall out until Thanksgiving. Then we'll start the Christmas explosion! Dickens takes Mr G awhile to set up, so, the plan starts there.

I'll head down to sew today. Working on my bench pillow. It's very slow going with all the thread changes. My eyesight just ain't what it used to be. Getting old ain't for sissies! I am learning how to thread the machine needle, but get frustrated easily, so I'm learning to increase my patience levels.

We're cold here, again and it snowed over night. Just a dusting on the ground and roofs. Staying longer each time the snow falls.

Judi - wish a bunch of drivers would practice more! You'll do great! Remember, if you miss in your driveway, aim at something you want fixed! 😀

Val - glad the paper work is filed. You deserve and earned your retirement!

Lyn - sounds like you're settling in quickly . HQ does have great frames for their machines. I love mine! With a bigger frame, you might think about adding a computer quilting, after market, system. Some HQ machines are more compatible that others for that. Mine doesn't play nicely with those systems. But the frames are huge and do take up a bit of space!

Well, time to get things started, so they are out of my hair! Sarah will be down and help supervise the elves on the roof. And straighten out Mr G and the checkbook. He's very fussy and wants to keep doing it, but is struggling with simple tasks and Sarah can get him to do things differently. She does the books for several large clients and knows how to manage stuff. Me, I can do it, but Mr G argues with me, so I send in reinforcements!

Hugs,
Jana

Good Morning Girls

First of all, thank you ALL so much for all the birthday wishes. It really was a very wonderful day. I had dinner with my boys and grandkids and has a long lovely facetime visit with Jen and David in Alaska. SO nice to see the sun this morning!! Yesterday was rainy all day so I'm super happy to see the sun shine and will admit to being happy about the over night news! And yes, May God Bless America!!

Judi.... I don't consider myself a religious person, but more a spiritual person, but I firmly believe in the power of prayer! I have seen first hand in many many situations where I believe prayer has made a difference. Now that this election is over, we need to keep praying that people will set aside their differences and work together. Also, I'm happy to see that you are going to try driving around a little bit. If the driveway goes well, maybe a trip around the block!!

Valerie.... PGE turns off power when it gets windy? Never heard of that!! Wonderful news that you got your letter of resignation sent and received. How many days left now? I'll give you a little hint, --the first couple weeks of retirement it will feel like you are just on vacation, but after that you will wake up every morning saying "I don't have to go to work," and repeat it over and over. My first few months after I retired I was so thrilled because I wouldn't have a knot in my stomach about driving to work in a snow storm and/or driving home in one in the dark!!

Lois.... I SO love your comment "God doesn't like ugly" I laughed out loud!! And it has nothing to do with outside appearance but the ugly in people's hearts. We've sure seen a lot of ugly come out in this election!!!

Lyn... Glad your DB and SIL got back to Colorado safe and sound. I'm sure they are glad to be home before the snow hits the mountains. I saw something on the news the other day that even down in the lowlands. Hope you have a fun lunch!! Love going out for lunch!!

Maryz... Oh yes, a wonderful birthday, but I'm glad it's over! I don't mind getting older, because it means I'm still HERE, but I don't like the hub-bub about it. Since Shawn's birthday is today, most years I just left mine slip by! You hit the road tomorrow? I'm so excited for your to be able to see Gene!! I was telling Jen last night about the Christmas tree coming from Alaska! They are trying to figure out how to get their stuff moved to Minnesota in 2026 and I said "Maybe I can get Gene to drive his semi"  I'll start my prayers to St. Christopher tonight so the we have a head start on a safe snow-free trip!

Jana... Ok, color me just a little green with envy!! I SO love a house lit up for Christmas! We lit up our house ONCE then Dex decided he was never going to climb up on the roof again!! Can't say I blame him! Not sure how much lighting I could get away with here at the town house, but I do have a little tree with lights by my front door. Once you get them all done I'd for sure love to see pictures. When do you start decorating the inside of the house?

Lori..., You make your own granola? Do you ever use Chia Seeds? My DIL Kris uses them all the time, but all I can think of is those Chia Pet things!!! I do love granola on top of my yogurt and used to take that to work with me all the time.

Irish.... The spare bathtub is a great place to hide stuff. The folks I bought my townhouse from were the original owners and they NEVER used that bathtub, only the shower in the master bathroom. I have a pretty shower curtain on it and hides the mess very well. Inside the tub I put up another shower curtain rod and that's where I hang finished quilt tops. Only problem is they are easily forgotten back there.

Chriss... What's happening at your house today? Did Dad find another little project to do! Wanna come up and help me put my sewing room back together!???

Now that my first cup of coffee has kicked in I think I go get a refill and get back to work. Time to haul all the stuff back into the sewing room and clean up the messes I've made. I'm anxious to get back to really sewing!!

Again, thank you all for the birthday wishes, it really was a happy day!

Rats! Because of weather last week, my elves are behind schedule! No lights today and they are rescheduling me into next week. When I say elves, they come dressed as elves in costume! So I do have elves scampering on my roof!

Good morning. I love this part of the morning where the sun comes up and shines on the weeds in the field. They are sort of a wheat color and when the sun shines on them they turn golden. It's just beautiful.

Yesterday ended up being a long day. Got my results from blood work and mamo, I am "in the range" and all my stuff is good. Doctor said a lot of his patients were taking meds or needed to be seen regularly, he doesn't want to see me for another year. Yay for me.

After the doctor I went to Costco for my mixed nuts and already boiled eggs. Came home and dad called to say they were coming up. I took my stepmom for a ride where she asked often if we could stop for a drink just to relax and visit. We didn't, instead we kept riding. That gave dad almost 2 hours of uninterrupted work.

I have laundry in the dryer and plan to get those cobwebs and vacuum today. After that I will finally sew.

Lyn, a miniature Australian Shepherd, I bet that's a cute dog. Enjoy your shopping girls day. Glad your brother is safely traveling.

Lori, I do think we would shop well together. I also look quickly, and honestly, I don't need anything I just like something to do. The end of this month my funner friend and I are going to a kind of flea market thing. Jerry used to make a granola in the crock pot. It was so good. I put it in yogurt. Bet yours is good too? How is dad doing?

Judi, you made me chuckle at your post yesterday. You are like me. You want it now and you want it done your way. I'm sure the driving will go well, why not try just going around the block? One day you will be out and about and won't give that knee a second thought. Hope the meds can be changed and your stomach stuff gets fixed.

Jana, oopsie on the fireplace switch. I have a ceiling fan that is about 30 years old and when I switched it so the blades could go clockwise instead of counter clockwise it did a clunk, clunk and completely stopped. I love these fans, they are well built. I told my dad about it and he said that he would take it apart to see if it could be fixed. I was ready to buy a new fan, but if this one can be fixed yay. I laughed when you said you were sending Sarah in to take care of the check book. Sounds like your back up plan for many things is Sarah. She's a pretty good kid, you raised her well.

Valerie, high five for sending in the resignation and knowing it was received. Maybe if you stop buying bread BIL won't have anything to eat. Go on strike Val, it worked for Carol Brady. LOL. I think I will thaw out a roast for the crock pot, I love the way it shreds and makes a lot of meals.

Lois, we will be in the mid to low 70's this week. glad you found a fix for your feet, happy sewing.

Maryz, my house will never be Katy clean either. but it's much easier to manage now that I've been keeping up with it. I still have a lot to do but I'm getting there. Safe travels, I hope you have a wonderful time on your trip

Maryq, did you buy the cauliflower rice. I think you will be surprised. If you aren't thrilled with it add some chopped green onion. i'm so glad you had a nice birthday. Exciting to put your sewing room back together, will you rearrange things? I'd love to come help, then you could come here and we could adjust things in mine. My dad is funny. He'll do a little project and when he's done he sits in the living room and has a pepsi or 7up and announces that he's taking his union break. Then we chat a little and he tells me what's next on his list. Personally I could live with my house being the way it is, but I am grateful that he is doing what he's doing and resolving issues I didn't even know I had. I agree with everything you said to Valerie.

My laundry has been pulled from the dryer and is laying on my bed to be put away. Don't tell Judi but like Ken, I am on my last pair of underwear and the laundry just had to get done.

Time for breakfast which I secretly wish was a huge stack of pancakes floating in butter and syrup but will probably be a salad because it's what I pretty much have every day for brunch.

Then it's floors and ceilings and sewing. I'm putting off going to drop things off at the thrift store until maybe next week.

You all have a fabulous day

Maryz, Greek food. My friends birthday is today, and mine was a few weeks ago. It takes a while to get a day when everyone can meet up. We all have different things going on. Safe travels. Take pictures of Gene and his big tree haul.

Chriss, granola in the crock pot sounds interesting. Mine is super simple made with honey, no sugar. Dad is adjusting. Taking your stepmom out on a drive is a great way to give your dad a break. I'm sure he needs one. You're a good daughter.

Jana, hope the weather holds out so your elves can come decorate.

Maryq, no, I've never used chia seeds other than to grow a chia pet. And it didn't work out so well.

Jana, I didn't watch, listen or follow the news yesterday. I hung out with friends and it was fabulous.
When I came home and checked my email I saw the electoral votes, but it wasn't over yet.

Lyn, hope you had a nice outing.

We'll I'm glad all the bashing/blaming commercials are over. Now I can watch Jeopardy without all the crap. Of course now there will be all the drug commercials. I don't like those either.

Yesterday was prefect spending it will friends sewing and chatting. Then dinner to top it off. We tried a new Greek restaurant. It was yummy. Dad's doing okay in his new place. He's still confused and has little melt downs because he can't do anything for himself anymore. It's really windy here today. The Santa Ana's are blowing like crazy. Hope it calms down soon. There's lots of debris in the air, so I have the house closed up.

Dinner will be leftover soup tonight. Bill is having some dental work done and probably won't feel like eating much.

Have a lovely day.
