Lyn, I drove through a tornado in Amarillo TX back in 2004. We were driving home from Illinois and drove right into the tornado. The hail was the size of softballs and did some significant damage to my Tahoe. I just happened to be driving when it hit. Oh what fun that was.
Chriss, we're going to be 95, but Bill said it's a dry heat so it's not as bad. I say it's still pretty hot. I have a hard time finding rugs I like. Hope you find the perfect ones. Give Moose a little scratch for me.
Maryq, I can't believe I used to start work at 0500 part of the time. I was up at 6. Way to early for me. I'm more a 0730 kind of person. Toilet shopping...what fun!
Tina, I love potato soup. I have a recipe for ham and potato that I will make once this heatwave leaves us next week.
Maryz, holy cow...that's a big booklet for that quilt. Dad gets moved when we get the results of chest xray for the TB.
Lois, dad's just getting the checkup and paperwork filled out for the board and care. He's fine, just can't remember anything.
Well we got all the paperwork filled out from the doctor. I need to go to AAA to get a HC placard for dad. This morning I couldn't find his wallet. He had it on Monday. I had removed all the credit cards from it. I'm sure it's with the keys somewhere. I'll find it eventually. I did find an old ID incase he needs one for something.
I've got things to do and places to go.
Dinner will be leftovers.
Have a lovely day.

Re: Wednesday October 2, 2024
Good afternoon from my sewing room which is about as messy as they come...But, outside is dreary so inside in the mess is good....What's funny, my cleaning gal was just here and I told her not to even open the door to this mess, it's all mine to clean up....But, the rest of the house is sparkling clean and now, I don't want to walk through the house and mess up her vacuum marks, lol.......Besides being a super worker, she's a sweetie, loves to talk and I'm not one to talk much (
), but we do have a nice time when she's here...
Had my 6 mon. appointment with my cardiologist and I'm good for another 6 mon...This doctor is one of the nicest doctors I've ever had....Being good looking helps but he is what everyone needs in a doctor...Loved that the new RX is keeping the AFib mostly under control and the BP is at a decent #, thought he was going to do flip flops..Said, he didn't like the idea of having to zap me again, lol....After that, I celebrated by going to one of our stores that has everything, "Ollie's" and ended up with a kitchen rug like Chriss was talking about.....This store has a huge selection of books so a few, for the little ones, jumped in the cart.....
Maryz, my heavens, you'll have your cleaning done before fall even gets here ...But, isn't it a great feeling? I used to laugh when I'd hear an older person "complain" about the days flying by but now, I know exactly what they were talking about....My heavens, not much left of this year, and I was just getting used to writing 2024 on my checks..... And I'm in my "room" for the rest of the day...I told my sister not to call unless it was an emergency...Of course she thinks, planning a card party or going to bingo is an emergency so I'm sure she'll be calling....We do have the rest of the week planned and then this weekend is Lena's 6th birthday party so I'll be going east.....
Judi, so sorry you're not feeling up to par today but that will pass...Please don't get discouraged...Just think about all those things in your knee knitting back together and maybe a couple decided, they needed a rest.....Just make sure, you stay ahead of the pain...You will be fine and soon, as Mary said, walking though the front door of your house....
Maryq, what a terrible choice you have to make....So, which HD did you end up at or should we ask, what other store did you end up at? My choice would be Hobby Lobby and I'd probably still be there....I have those low potties and the high rise is on my list for some day...I had them in the other house and when I moved here, I thought I was going to end up on the floor that 1st time! Wow, staying out of the garage, that would take will power, not sure I could do it......
Lyn, And there she goes again! Just watch out for those elk....They seem to be in everyone's yards in Estes Park......Safe driving.....
Jana, When you talk about Mr. G., I understand so much of what you're going through...Glad you have a doctor who also understands what's happening, that means a lot... Our leaves aren't really turning yet but we've been told, not to expect much color this year because of the crazy weather we've had...Some leaves are starting to fall which to me is sad...I'm not ready! Would love to join you in your Batt Cave....
Sorry, I have to run but think about all of you and do keep those in need in my prayers.....
After hearing so much talk about meat loaf, I dug one out of the freezer and stuck it in the oven with potatoes..Might even cook some cauliflower....But, I'm thinking ahead to a left over meat loaf sandwich with my home made relish......
You all have a great rest of the day.................
