We are home from camping a day early but with Dog Boy so sick, we didn't want to be stuck in Oregon with a hospitalized dog. We got him to our own vet yesterday afternoon and after $783 of exams, bloodwork, sub-Q fluids, and meds, their best guess is "maybe an intestinal infection". He was given an anti-nausea injection but he still doesn't want to eat. Vet said chicken and rice so I told Bill he was getting leftover chicken and rice for his dinner.

CHRISS - so glad to hear Buster seems to be improving and hopefully his parents relaxing a bit. You have sure gotten a lot of things accomplished at your house. Whatever will you do when you cross that last item off your to-do list??
SHARONA - What was for breakfast yesterday? You had company? Just for breakfast or were they overnight? How are you feeling? When is your next dr appt?
JANA - you say you made doughnuts like it's no big thang!! I've never made doughnuts! They seem crazy difficult to me. I make cream puffs, souffles, and even a baked Alaska once, but never brave enough to try doughnuts.
MARY Q - I keep my grocery list on the fridge - one for Costco and one for Freddy's (Kroger). And I try to remember to take a picture of them as shopping day approaches, just in case I forget the lists. I have to say, Alexa scares me -I don't trust who all might on the other end, listening to everything that is said inside the house. Not that we say much of interest to anyone, but the idea repels me. I prefer my paper lists. Though, even with that I often forget things. So wonderful to have your bathroom painted. Even better to have a DDIL that would do that for you!
DIANE - sorry to hear Joe is having trouble with his treatments. How often are they and how long do the side effects last? Funny that your dog ate pebbles. Becca had a dog once she named Pebbles. My friend had a black lab that brought orange-sized rocks up from the beach - but she never ate them. However, I remember as a very little girl, eating small rocks from my parents front pathway. Just to see if I could swallow them.
LOIS - My Bill and I hang out on our deck, too, every afternoon/evening about 5 months of the year. Love it! I picture your deck on waterfront. Is it?
JUDI - glad you got your long-handle shoehorn. I was going to suggest one but got side-tracked and forgot. Bill gave me two of them for Christmas last year. I might also suggest, if you don't have them already, those Sketchers Slide-ins. They really work and are comfy.
LYN - you are in Texas! Yay! How long do you think you'll stay there before going back to CO? Or might you bag CO this year and just stay put?
TINA - are you done cleaning for Dad now? And are you rested up? I saw where you are walking every day. Good for you! You have really been doing a lot of good things for yourself lately! I wish I had half of your (and Chriss's and Mary Q's) self-discipline!
So we are home. Waiting to see if poor Scottie lives. It's possible he got into something a day or two before we left on our trip. He is very rarely off leash. but when we were in and out of the trailer, packing, last weekend, we let him lay in the grass and watch us. He might have sneaked over to our neighbors on our north side and helped himself to God knows what. But every time I checked on him he was here. And he had his annual check-up just two weeks ago and was even checked for giardia and other possible parasites and he was clear and healthy except for some arthritis.
At least I was able to get in some sewing while we were gone and actually finish my wall hanging. We also got our trailer emptied and the laundry and cleaning process begins today. We don't plan to be using it again until we leave for Texas, Nov 8 or 9 so no rush.
Wishing everyone a blessed Sunday!
