SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Nov 24

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Nov 24, 2023 3:54 am

Good morning-after!

I hope everyone had a great day yesterday, no matter what you were doing. I know we did. But the day went so fast! And we had such a good time. And dinner was purrfect! We left almost all the leftovers for them. Antonio loves leftovers and he's a big eater! We brought home the turkey (they are vegetarians) and just enough of everything else to have small helpings tonite. Amara has learned to clap her hands so we all admired and were very proud. :D 👏

Today - I haven't told Bill yet but we'll be cleaning the trailer. Again. It gets pretty cluttered, dusty, and hairy quickly. Also, I plan to sew Amara's stocking together. Yay! Tomorrow we have to be at the kids' at 0730 to babysit so Antonio can go to the library with Aut and do some consulting work, sans baby. It's win/win for us all!! :D And it sounds like this is going to happen frequently! Yay for us!!

BECCA - congratulations on your pie win! Was there a prize? Yesterday, just for fun, during dinner we went through all the state pies. Don't ask me why! It said North Carolina, being the nation's largest producer of sweet potatoes, has named sweet potato pie as it's state pie. It's OK with me, but I prefer a good pecan pie myself. I expected Washington's pie to be apple, since we're a huge producer/exporter of apples. But I was surprised to learn it's loganberry pie. Who knew! But on another website, it says our state pie is apple (as it should be!). So I guess your state pie can be whatever is your own personal favorite! (and mine is sour cream lemon.)

CAROL - how did the dinner at your friends go yesterday? Did your DH enjoy it? I spent a day last summer sewing all my batting scraps together, too. Some were pretty small. I got 3 quilts' worth of batting from them. Your state pie is lemon meringue. I love lemon!

TINA - was your entire clan at your house yesterday? Even the black sheep? (you know black sheep get a bad rap. They are as good as white sheep.) Do you have leftovers or did you eat it all?? Do you know your state pie? It's green chili pie! I wonder what that tastes like!

And we do have just enough leftovers for tonite. I will make new gravy but otherwise, we'll have turkey, dressing, gravy, corn pudding, salad, and pie. No potatoes or rolls. I purposely left those for Antonio who was licking his chops!

What's the plan at your house?

Mary, how fun for you. Your first baby sitting job with Amara. I bet you are going to have a blast.

Becca, how fun to win a pie contest.

I walked all the dogs this morning. Then we had the heater guy out again because it's not working right.
He was here just over a week ago and didn't fix the problem. Our heater is 1 1/2 years old and we have yet to use it without a problem. It was very expensive and I'm not happy that it's not working. Good thing it's not that cold here. I just turn it on in the morning to warm up the house a bit.

I really didn't do much today, but it was a nice day. Hung out with all the dogs and a cat.

Dinner was ham sandwiches.

Sleep well.
