SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Nov 17th

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Nov 17, 2023 3:56 am

Good morning,

We've been here nearly a week now. The days are passing quickly. I got a lot of stitching done yesterday. By a lot, I mean maybe 2 square inches. I have about 23 left to go on the stocking. Then wash, block, dry, carefully cut it, the backing, and the lining pieces out and sew it all together, trying to not forget to stitch in the ribbon hanger. I'll get it done, but I think I will have had enough of all handwork by then! At least for a while. Today, more stitching, but a little sewing, too. (shhhh.... it's for my Elf.) Plus, we're going to pick up our curbside order of Thanksgiving groceries. We wanted to avoid the rush. It's hard enough parking our big 1-ton truck so we want to 'git 'er dun' as early as possible and not have to fight for the Curbside Pick-up parking spots. It seems they were all meant for small SUV's!

LORI - what a fun getaway you had! Loved the photos on FB. Thanks for the llama/alpaca lesson. They are wonderful animals. You came home with a case of wine? Just the one case? It's like you didn't even try! 😜

BECCA - you are getting a good start on that stocking. How long does it take you to make one? It looks like you knit the name into the top at the start of the project. But if you didn't, could you sew beads on afterward to spell out a name if necessary? Or stitch over the red knitted area white white? Just a curious question. The way babies happen in your family, it might be wise to keep a supply of stockings already made! And by the way, how is Taylor doing?

For supper tonite, I'm thinking of frying sliced apple, onion, and keilbasa together and then serving it over rice. We have sweet potatoes coming in our grocery order so I might add a bit of that in, too. Those flavors all blend well. I'll see what my sister thinks. We're sharing most of our suppers.

What are YOU thinking?

Good morning all 🌞
Mary, how many square inches are in that stocking?
Lori, those pics you posted on Facebook are so cute. I see they keep them very clean and groomed. Some around here are pretty scruffy looking, I think they need baths and a trim or brush.
Becca, your stocking is so cute, I love it!

Yesterday was almost a total bust for me. I did finish cleaning my sewing room but I was supposed to go with Holly to Cruces after her hair appointment.... well that hair appointment lasted 8½ hours! It was only supposed to be a 3 to 4 hour appointment. Who has ever heard of a hair appointment lasted 8½ hours?! She was just getting her roots bleached because they had grown out. So last night I vacuumed and cleaned the house after supper. I can't do that before I go anywhere on a little trip.
We're planning on going Saturday now.

I'm baking a loaf of banana but bread today and some pecan tarts and hopefully sewing.

Supper will be banned food I think and I'd like to make some coleslaw for sure.... not sure if anything else is needed.

Mary, it seems like you just got there. You're funny. I was driving and not tasting as much.
Therefore, I didn't buy as much. Yes, the alpacas are wonderful. I love the yarn that comes from them.

Tina, you might be seeing the Suri Alpaca. They get a dreadlock look to them. There were a few of those, but their hair wasn't as long yet. It will grow over the winter. The fluffy ones are Haucaya. They have the cutest faces.

Bill decided to get a new car yesterday. I got home and he took off to buy it. He bought a Tahoe LTZ. It is really nice. All the bells and whistles. He will sell the truck to his son Shane, since Shane's truck is having issues with over 300,000 miles. I was going to buy a Tahoe, but may rethink what I want now. I really don't think we need 2. We had 2 a few years back. I might actually downsize a bit. I'll have to take a look and see what's out there.

I've got some cleaning to do this morning. Then I want to sew a bit.

Dinner will be chicken something. As I have some in the fridge that needs to be cooked.

Have a lovely day.
Lori 8-)
