We've got rain! And lots of it! Our world is turning green again! I'm not minding it at all, but I do hope it lets up, though, for camping next week....
Yesterday I finished my gotta-do sewing for Christmas. Whew! I even made new cases for the two little knee pillows I sleep with and then got a good start kitting up the Eliz Hartman butterfly quilt. I think I can do it all from my stash. Then we went to Tacoma to pick up my old machine that I had serviced, and stopped at Hobby Lobby to buy some ornaments for the grandkids. I even found a narwhal ornament to put with the narwhal pillow! We topped off our afternoon with Covid shots. Fun fun fun! Bill always seems to react a lot more than I. He spends a day under a quilt in a lounge chair and I notice he's sleeping a lot later than usual this morning. I either don't react or don't have time for it. I have stuff to do.
Today's plan is to finish pulling fabrics for Butterflies, then I have appts for massage and chiropractor. Plus, Bill picked a big bag of apples from Vicki's tree yesterday - first year it's ever produced! No one else was coming for the apples, so why not. A developer owns the property now and his plan is to bulldoze everything. The tree (which is actually just the biggest of many suckers that grew up after Vicki cut down the main tree years ago) is just a few inches over the property line. So I guess I'll be dealing with apples - making and canning applesauce I guess. Does anyone know if applesauce freezes? I'd rather put it in quart Ziplocks that lay flat in freezer and travel better than pint jars. Guess I will try a few packages and see.
TINA - Frankie is a busy, busy guy! I hope he can resurrrect the Suburban, but if not, it was probably the gas-guzzler of your fleet and if it was the most difficult/painful for you to drive, at least if you have to sacrivice one of your vehicles it was probably the best one.
BECCA - You had a very busy day yesterday. I didn't know Brodee and Hadlee are having a little brother! Congratulations to everyone! I bet Mom and Dad are nervous after the experience they had with the twins. Saying prayers all will be well. And I vote for starting baby quilt blocks! What a fun project!
CAROL - glad all went well with your DH and his procedure. Up until recently, here a coloscopy patient's driver had to stay in the waiting room, but at Bill's last appt, they said I could go do something but to stay close by and have my cell phone. I just ran to UPS store to pick up our mail. And it's tradition to both go out to breakfast afterward. In fact, as Bill was getting dressed after his procedure, the nurse asked, "So, where are you going to breakfast?" lol! Pancake House next door, of course! Did the owners who responded not even come look at the kitty you found? That seems kind of odd, but maybe the kitty is happier with you and the lady down the street.
LORI - congratulations on your 2 yr mark!! Almost halfway there! You got this!! Your retreat sounds fun! Are you taking a machine or will it be all hand projects? For our short camping trip next week, I'm only taking Amara's cross-stitch stocking to work on. I know I will never make it by Christmas but I so want this project done! But when we go to Texas, I'll be loaded with sewing projects! My sisters save plastic zippered bags that linens, curtains, & blankets come in and give them to me to pack my various projects. All different sizes. And they work so well for this.
TINA AGAIN! Poor Preston! I wonder what ails him. I hope it's not a virus for you all!
We're all out of leftovers except for one large piece of pumpkin pie which we'll share at lunch. So we're having tacos for supper. Bill is smiling!

What's on your menu for tonite?
