SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Sept 17

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Sep 17, 2023 6:37 am

Good morning,

It's going to be a quiet day here. I think. I hope. The Seahawks play Detroit Lions at 10am and I'm sure Judi and I will be texting during the game. She's not a football fan, but her hubby is and they will both be in their trailer so she can't help but at least hear the crowd's roar. And me! 😁 We'll watch the game and then I'll go into my sewing room and work on Lemur. Yesterday was clean bathroom, haircut, grocery shopping, cooking, and company. I also had about an hour for Lemur.

BECCA - so nice of you to get your friend out and about when she is having a bad day. We all need such good friends as you! Were the white squirrels you saw the babies from earlier in the summer??

CAROL - you've been a white tornado! Mr. Clean would be proud of your shining home! I hope now you can settle down and play. I probably don't dust as often as I should. I figure my kids can do it after I die. That M&L store sounds awesome! There was a similar one in Portland, Fabric Warehouse I think it was called - and it even had a lot of RV parking! - but it closed about 4 yrs ago.

LORI - oh, I love Legos! Costco has some wonderful sets out right now for Christmas shopping. I think they are one of the best toys out there. My DSIL had a huge tote of them he'd saved from his childhood but his sister took it, without asking or even letting him know, and gave it to her scuzzy boyfriend for his kids. The same boyfriend that soon after deliberately burned down the house!! I'm still mad about both - the Legos and the fire! Deep breathe, Mary. Let it go, Mary.

We had steak for supper last night. And we invited a second couple (Tex & Annette) to join us so we thawed steaks for them, too, but they didn't get back to us until it was too late to put their steaks back into the freezer. And they didn't come. So we will be having steak again tonite and I'll dice up and fry the leftover baked potatoes with onions. And make a salad.

What are you having tonite?

Becca, how fun to have the white squirrels nest close by.

Mary, Jonathan love Legos. He used to sit at the dining room table with his Nana and great grandma and build things for hours. He has ever set we ever bought him. Now they have sets for adults. He loved his new car. I had a 1969 Rally Sport Camero as my first car. It was awesome. So much so that it was stolen, recovered, and stolen again. When they finally found it the 2nd time it was trashed from street racing.

We took the boys to the park this morning. It was a little drizzly, but not too bad. Then I baked a chocolate cake using the recipe on the Hershey chocolate container. I'll also make their frosting in a bit. I've also cleaned a bit since the kids are coming over for birthday dinner.

We'll be grilling steaks, baked potatoes, salad, and so type of veggie. Cake for dessert.
Have a lovely day.

Hi all!
Mary, I need to look up those quilts you're making, I keep getting sidetracked.
Becca, I bet that's so neat to watch the squirrels.
Lori, I hope we get drizzly soon.
I've had Easton and Preston today, Holly took Jazmyne shopping for a homecoming dress. Frankie ended up taking Easton to play golf and Preston stayed here with me.
I cleaned house yesterday. Friday I had a doctor's appointment and I'll be getting some tests done in the next week or so, whenever I can get the appointments and we went to Cruces to look for a dining room table and chairs, ours is 34 years old and some of the screws are stripped out now and the chair seat part just hasn't got much cushioning left. We found one and they're delivering and setting up Friday. It was Maria's birthday so we got to go visit and have pizza and had a really fun evening.
I'm making pulled BBQ pork, potato salad, coleslaw and green beans for supper, Holly and the kids and Dad will be eating here.

Good Evening,

Dinner tonight was Garden Vegetable Linguini. Last night we had leftovers that were in the freezer.

Today I worked on quilting. I am almost finished. I need to baste another quilt! DH and I worked on cleaning the kitchen this morning. I did dishes while he wiped the counters. He usually washes dishes and wipes the counters, but today I had him move everything and wipe the entire counter. It is amazing how much cleaner the kitchen looks!

Becca - Hope you enjoyed the concert.

Tina - Happy Birthday to Maria!

Maryz - I am so sorry about the Legos burned in the fire! That is just too sad! Hope you are working on your Lemur.

Lori - You bought 12 yards of fabric? Wow! I am trying to keep buying to buying for project these days.

Dinner was great and kitchen is clean.

Carol, most of the yardage is for quilt backs.
