SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Sept 5th

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Sep 05, 2023 6:05 am

Good morning,

We are too chilly for the deck this morning. 51*. That's dang close to the 40's, from which it's just a jump into the 30's and the freezing level in in the 30's! Brrr! Hopefully it will warm up later today.

Yesterday I sewed a little bit in two separate sessions. I got my Book Nook blocks all finished. Now to square them up and start cutting my sashing. This morning we're going into Tacoma. We'll swing by the hospital where our friend is having major back surgery this morning and sit with his wife in the waiting room for a bit. Then I need to stop at Trains Quilt shop for their closing sale. I need some fabric for my Lemur and unicorn quilts and starting today all their fabric is 75% off. I'm not sure they'll have what I'm looking for but it's a good bet they'll have SOMETHING I'll think I can use. :D

TINA - I'm sorry for your dad and his loss. I've lost two of my three brothers. We were all so close and they were part of my daily life. I miss them a lot. I hope you are feeling better today. Heat and stress can both cause physical problems such as you described.

CAROL - for me, the most fun of making a quilt is the beginning. Planning, pulling fabrics, and those first few blocks. Bliss!

BECCA - glad the concert was enjoyable. It's been a long time since I've heard any ragtime. I wonder if the new generations even know what ragtime is. The birthday party sounds happy! How old was the guest of honor? And how are your babies doing? Frankie and New Brodie? And how is Gabe and Old Brodee?

We have some leftover grilled chicken and some rice and some broccoli. I think I'll make a casserole from it all for tonite. We also have salad and a little trombone squash. A friend brought us the squash from her garden. It's a relative of crookneck but looks kind of like a trombone. Not sure if I should cook it or add it to my salad. lol! Guess I'll figure it out.

What's your plan?

Good Morning,

Maryz - I enjoy all aspects of quilting. I have three quilts planned and fabric ready but need to quilt four quilts, therefore I am waiting. All is good. So nice of you to go to wait while Tex has surgery. They must be good friends! Hope your back is better today.

Becca - Glad you are adjusting to your new surroundings. Sounds like you are very busy.

Today I am going to Farmer's Market for Peaches, need to get an Anniversary card for DH and pick up something from my co-chair for Holiday project then go to Costco to return some pistachios. This afternoon I will go to the gym and this evening there is a Board meeting on Zoom. It will be a busy day. Thursday is our 27th Anniversary so we will be going to Paso Robles for a couple of nights.

Dinner tonight will be leftovers. We have had Garden Vegetable Soup for dinner the past two nights. DH really likes it.

Carol

Carol, Happy anniversary. Paso Robles is a nice area to visit. Have a great time.

Mary, 51...burrr. Both our boys are registered with AKC. Jacks formal name is Jumping Jack Bug McCoy.
He jumps like a goat. It's quite funny. Hope your friend is doing well. Back surgery is scary.
Sounds like you are getting better a little bit each day.

I cleaned this morning, then we had a late lunch at our favorite Mexican place. So no dinner tonight. I'm still full.

Have a lovely evening.

Hi all!
I've been on the forum several times and even read here 3 times LOL Secret Santa took some time, so much fun 😄 🤶🎅
The grands are here and it was Dad's night so I made a huge pot of veggie beef soup. Preston ate 2 very full bowls and Easton ate over 3 bowls, Jazmyne ate 2 bowls LOL me and Dad had just 1 and Frankie had 2.... everyone was very well fed and happy.
I'm feeling better today, thank you all.
Tina
