SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Aug 2nd

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Aug 02, 2023 6:43 am

I started this once, was almost done, and then suddenly it wasn't here anymore. My fingers must have accidentally hit the wrong key. Sigh.

Yesterday I got binding on HSH swap quilt, and prepped 3 scrap and lotto tops I made last year with borders, backings, and bindings. They are all now ready for the LA. Today my plan is to piece my larger batting scraps to make them usabe sizes. At today's prices, I don't waste ANYTHING. I also have a chiropractor appt, and I might do a little bit of work in the yard. The dead shasta daisies are really starting to bother me.

TINA - thanks for taking us to the party! Everyone looks like they are having such a good time! I loved Jaz's dress. Looks like she figured out a way to handle that train while dancing!

BECCA - sorry the food was sub-par. You could start making a list of what you ate and what nights you ate it. Maybe it can be traced to one person or food supplier or a bad recipe. How close to your apartment can you park? Are you on the first floor? Makes it hard to have to carry everything if you have to go far or up a floor or two. Do you have a rolling basket of any kind to bring things into the house?

LORI - I hope that class gets more fun for you. Maybe after you know more what you're doing? I will try to post a picture of Catholes. I tried the other day but my electronics wouldn't play nicely and I gave up. This quilt probably isn't some folks' cup of tea but cat lovers find it so funny because it's so true!

CAROL - I made 2 batches of blackberry jam (so far). Each batch ends up being nine 8 oz jars. I don't usually put jam in pint jars. This year I filled 4 cases (12 jars ea) of 4oz jars to take to A&A for them to give to their staff for Christmas. I've made strawberry, raspberry, and blackberry. I will make one, maybe two more batches of blackberry and then I'll freeze some berries for winter pies/crisps/cobblers. You've reminded me I should probably check my berries again today or tomorrow. I haven't read that book. I read a lot but always mysteries.

I think we might grill pork chops tonite. Not sure what we'll have with them. Probably spinach and maybe potatoes of some kind.

What sounds good to you?

Mary, I piece as much of my batting as possible. I use the smaller scraps for my floor duster.
I saw Judi was doing that, so I started. It works really well. Can't wait to see the cat quilt.

Today I have lunch and then bowling with friends. It will be a fun day. Yesterday we went to the Cheesecake factory for lunch. We took home a coconut cream cheese cake to have with our afternoon coffee. It was very yummy.

Dinner will be chicken and veggies. I may at rice or potato.

Have a lovely day.

Good Afternoon

Dinner tonight will be Garden Vegetable Spaghetti and a green Salad.

Maryz - You are reminding me I should piece some of the batting scraps I have in the closet. I have a lot!! I use them also for smaller projects such as placemats. I wouldn't put jam in a pint jar either. 12 ounce jars are the perfect size.

Lori - I like the idea of using the batting scraps for the floor. I will try that.

Becca - I am sorry you are missing your own home so much. (((hugs)))

I have been trying to cut pieces that are leftover so I can make a back for the Halloween quilt. I do not think I am going to succeed and will probably just buy some backing. I have also been working on making the bow ties for the cats in the quilt. They are coming out very cute. I may not need to put on any buttons.

Dinner needs to be made.

Carol
