Happy Birthday to our Chriss and to Eleanor! It's a big day in Quiltville!
Yesterday was a big day here, too. Lots of cleaning going on, also some fabric-cutting, cake-baking, and OWL quilting. Today - more of the same. Except cake baking. It's in the freezer now, waiting for tomorrow when cake-frosting will commence. It's a coconut cake and will be decorated with berries to resemble the flag. We're having a 6-8 person BBQ tomorrow. Today we'll also get our outdoor tables freshened up and make sure we have enough lawn chairs.
Our owls have been really entertaining us lately and this morning is no exception as I sit on the deck with my coffee and computer. They seem really curious about us. We have at least 3 that we know of, and they make sounds like FWEEEEEE. We call them trying to mimic their sound, and they anwer us back! They come close and twist and bob their heads while looking at us. They are so fun! I hope they are out tomorrow so our friends can see the owl show. It must be all the talk of OWL that is bringing them out! lol!
LORI - we were going to go to Sisters this year, too, but the calendar got changed. We've been there several times and camped in the big campground on the west side of town but I've never made it to the actual show. (I did, however, make it to the distillery tasting room a few miles west of town.

CAROL - your soups sounds so good. I bet your hubby is loving all your experiements! I never thought about the loud bangs bothering marine animals. I know our fur-folk sure don't like them! They've been going off in our neighborhood the last two nights. They are totally illegal so it happens in the middle of the night. I know you'll be having fun at the Quilt fest!
TINA - we smiled at the same thing - Cricket as a name for a rottie. She was a rescue when the kids got her. I love pretty fireworks and in fact, when I was little, that's what I called them - pretties. But I don't like the boomers.
JANA - we're all thinking of Michael, you, and your family this morning as Michael goes through his surgery. Prayers!
I took some spaghetti sauce and meatballs out of the freezer and we're having it over penne pasta tonite. Easy peasy! And a salad, of course.
I hope your supper is easy peasy, too!
