SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Feb 16th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Feb 16, 2023 7:15 am

Good morning.

We are 33* here. We were sunny yesterday but I think clouds are moving in today with a high of 48*. No rain, but the air will be damp, I'm sure. An indoor day.

Yesterday I finished my last North Stars block (reindeer), chose some sashing, and got my sewing room partially cleaned up. Today's plan is to finish the cleaning, sash those NS blocks, and, if time permits, piece my Bigfoot backing. Oh! And I have an appt for a massage at 9:30. :D

CAROL - good luck with your quilts at the show. So you have a total of 7 entered? I hope you take home 8 ribbons - 7 blues and People's Choice! Did you have a good dinner last night at the restaurant? Our favorite is Italian, too.

VELDA - thanks for the reminder about Ash Wed. I was thinking about it night before last and didn't realize it was coming up so quickly. Did you go to the meat market? Do you think it's going to work out for you? Sometimes it's well worth paying a little extra.

JANA - I'm glad you have your secondary sewing room all set to go! Beats trekking up/down the stairs. Plus easier to keep an eye on the littles.

Bill chose hamburgers last night, which morphed into chili burgers since we still had leftover chili. Since we're not big eaters, we split one burger and tonite I'll dice up the leftover burger and add it to penne pasta with tomatoes, mushrooms, olives, capers, olive oil, garlic, and whatever else sounds good. Plus a salad on the side.

How's the supper planning going at your house?

Good Morning,

Maryz - No, I have four quilts that will be shown. I have three for Consignment. Dinner last night was great. DH had Vegetarian Lasagna and I had Chicken Piccata. We have enough for dinner tonight.

Velda - Yes, Ash Wednesday is next week. I go to a meat market it is definitely better quality than supermarket.

Jana - Glad you figured out another place to sew. Good to keep an eye on the GC too.

Becca - Wow! You sold the house! Congratulations! Lots of work ahead of you. Hope everyone can help.

Dinner is leftovers (see note to Maryz). I plan to sew as much as possible between laundry and other chores.

Carol

Good afternoon! I shared pictures of what I was working on today in "Photos". I finished three bags and pieced some scraps for another bag that I will sew tomorrow. I still have a bunch of denim pieces. I will see what I can put together with those tomorrow also.
Dance was fun last night.
Tonight is leftover taco salad.
Becca, congratulations on sale of house. Sounds like you are in a lovely place. A new chapter for you. Bless you!
Carol, hope your quilts do good in judging and consignment.
I got a call yesterday from my quilter who is doing my "Sew Along" quilt. She just had a question about my larger borders. She wanted to make extra sure that they were part of the quilt to be quilted. Sometimes she requires a basted border that helps to roll quilt onto machine, but my borders were to expand the width of my quilt to fit my bed. I know nothing about long arm and how quilts get loaded, etc. I think this means she will be getting my quilt done soon. 👍
It was rainy today and cloudy. Warmer temps coming back tomorrow.
That's all I know for now.
HUGS, 💕 Vel
