SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Jan 6th
Good morning,
Today is my sister's last day here. They are leaving in the morning for home. Their month here went by quickly. We'll be leaving ourselves next Wed. Bill said he wants steak tonight so we're off to the grocery store this morning. I finished my Narwhal block yesterday and I'll start cutting out my seal block today but most of our time will be spent with Al & Tina, visiting or playing Mexican Train.
TINA - your new toy sounds fun for you! I hope you got plenty of Tina Time to play with it!
LORI - I remember that you posted a photo of your plumeria quilt, but I'm having trouble with complete recall of what it looked like. You will have to do it again when you finish it. We saw on the news that there is a lot of rain in CA. Poor Jack! And Wrigley's beautiful long coat! I bet he takes a while to dry! Do you have a fenced yard for them? This is probably terrible to say, but I'm looking forward to getting home again and being able to allow Scottie to run free on our property for the first time now that there won't be a lot of spoiled food tossed outside next door to make him sick. We've always had to keep him leashed - on our 2-1/2 acres. If loose he heads straight for the garbage.
CAROL - thanks for the heads up on all the special foodie days coming up. When it's macaroni and cheese day, I'm in!! And you better believe that I'd much rather go to Road in CA than go further south. But for all his gentle-appearing demeanor, my husband can be pretty stubborn! I know he knows how I feel but he's pretending not to. So, I guess we're going south for two more weeks. Sigh. And it's not worth a fight because I'd lose anyway. Besides, when planning this sojourn back in Sept I agreed. Reluctantly, but I did.
JANA - putting Christmas away is when I always do my deep cleaning, too. And since I haven't been home for Christmas for the last 3 yrs . . . Well, you don't want to know about the dust in the back corners of my house!! Superior Threads is located at 13118 NE Fourth St in Vancouver, WA 98684, which is across the Columbia from Portland, OR. About 130 miles south of Tacoma, straight down I-5. I believe they were sold to Keepsake Quilting.
Tonite we're grilling steaks. I'm making a salad, possibly baking cornbread, and I think we're going to add mac & cheese to the menu. or possibly pasta in alfredo sauce. Our menu is still to be fine-tuned. We had potatoes last night so they don't sound good again tonite.
Have you got your menu set for tonite?

Good morning everyone!
Mary, enjoy the day with your sis and DBIL!
I sure am hoping to get to play with my new toy a lot
I made a little box yesterday, it's cute and would make fantastic teacher gifts to kids with little treats inside. It's a paper one but I was thinking it might work in fabric with a kinda stiff interfacing.....
Lori, are you where all there rain is? My goodness it looks bad on the news!
Carol, is Road a huge event? How long does it last?
Jana, my Christmas is all put away and everything moved and cleaned under, behind and on, my house looks huge now with the furniture moved! I'll be glad to get the last 3 pieces moved... I'm hoping by Monday
Today is Dad's birthday, he's 84
❤ we'll be taking him out to eat wherever he wants to go. My little brother text last night and he's going to drive over and come with us

Tina, yes we are in the path of the rain. It's cleared up today and the sun is out. Our backyard is very soggy though. Glad you got to play with your new toy. It's like quilting, you can get sucked into playing with it for hours.
Mary, bummer your sister is leaving already. We do have a big yard for all the dogs to run and play. I bit it will be nice to let Scottie run free again. I know he'll love it. I'll post a picture when I get more done.
Just taking care of some things around the house and for my dad. Might sew a little later. I've been tracing a pattern for a class on Wednesday. I'm almost done with the prep work.
Dinner will be chili tonight since I didn't make it last night.
have a lovely day.

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Jan 6th
Good afternoon!
Dinner will be brats, loaded with all kinds of good stuff and a macaroni salad. With all this snow, a indoor picnic meal sounded appealing.
Home from shopping. Really didn't take long and nothing extra jumped in the carts.
Slow cleaning and doing laundry. Nothing fun. Can't wait till fun finds it way here again.
Mary - I well understand determined men, read, stubborn! I have several here and when they get together, oh my! Enjoy the trip farther south.
Lori - we are soggy too, but it's still frozen soggy. Enjoy the New class.
I am starting to get what Michael calls channel fever - that's when the ship approaches it final home port, coming in under the Golden Gate. Me, I want the snow gone, and my yard in and green! But I will be patient, we need the snow so very badly.
Sarah's cabinets will be here on the 10th. The actual delivery will be the 11th to her house. She is looking for her granite today. She wants a white granite, which is hard to find. She's just like me, very picky! LOL! Marble won't work, as it can't handle the heat that canning puts on counters. Neither will the quartz composite. It has to be granite.
Wel, I am off with my can of glass cleaner and rag
Hugs,
Jana
