SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Dec 11th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Dec 11, 2022 3:25 am

Good morning,

We were supposed to have a storm last night with thunder, lightening, and rain. We did get some wind but that's about all. Not sure if the kids will come out for brunch as planned or not. After they saw the weather forecast, they said they'd decide this morning since we'd be sitting outside. Inside this 30-ft trailer is too close quarters for 6 people. I'm going to prepare for brunch anyway - hashbrowns, eggs, sausages, apple slices - and if they come we'll be ready. If they don't, guess what we'll be having for supper!

Yesterday - well, I'm not sure what we did yesterday morning. We walked, did our little exercise program and about 11:00 we sat outside with Al & Tina. After lunch the guys watched Bruce Willis in Diehard - the Christmas movie - in our trailer while I started cutting out my new project, "Hanging Gardens" by Georgette Dell'Orco from Cozy Quilt Designs. I'm doing it in shades of gold, turquoise, and blue with white background. I'm doing a throw size. This project should keep me out of trouble for a while. I've had the pattern for quite a few years and finally getting to it.

TINA - I bet that was cute - Matthew helping his Daddy put up Christmas lights. Outdoors or inside? Did you get all your shopping done? What is GrGranpa getting everyone? Does he know yet? And where/what was supper?

CAROL - you may have been the only one cooking yesterday, but I'm betting it was delicious! Yes, I did order the Merry Christmas pattern from QIAD and it arrived, too! It's for next year. Tina has it, too.

JANA - yay! The train's back on schedule!!

LORI - My bad, but I've forgotten just what your challenge project is. Can you share?

So, supper here will be breakfast if it doesn't happen this morning. Otherwise, it might be frozen burritos and salad. I could add rice and/or beans but it's just ntoo much food for us any more.

How's your menu planning coming along?

Good morning!

Mary brunch sounds yummy. Especially now, since I'm hungry! Hope it works out. And it's 6 1/2, you forgot Kumquat!

Dinner here is a unknown, as Daniel usually scrounges something to cook. It's sort of my day off from cooking. So we shall see.

Yes, I did teach Sandee to cook. She and Sarah both love to experiment in baking. Some things are quite tasty, others, the little puppies walk away from!

Frankenjeep is getting closer to running again. Daniel keeps saying, well, since I have this apart, I might as well change this part to a better one. He thinks it will be up and running next weekend. Good thing we keep extra vehicles for kids use.

Stay safe, warm and out of trouble!

Hugs,
Jana

Mary, your brunch sounds delicious. I didn't tell you about the challenge, so you didn't forget. At guild they gave us a bag with three fabrics. 2 quilting cotton, and one other. Could be anything tulle, tapestry, faux fur. I got a piece of tapestry with children all together. As soon as I saw it, I thought children of the world singing together. So I used my Cricut Maker and cut out some words to "We are the World" song and quilted it with musical notes. Nothing too exciting.

Jana, it's always good to have a day off of cooking.

Since it's raining, there will be no walk in the park. The boys are very sad, but we'll go out later when it stops for a walk around the neighborhood. I think I will see what I can get into in the sewing room.

dinner will be chicken and pasta with some kind of veggie.

Have a lovely day.

We got gyped! The national tv switched my 9ers game over to the Seahawks game - Maryz 's slightly happy, Seattle is currently not ahead!

Not nice!

9ers were up 35 -0 at the 4th quarter.

Jana - So Sorry!!

As promised here are pictures of my Merry Little Christmas Quilt. It measures 64" x 80". I used the Arc C Template by HandiQuilter to do the ruler work. The pictures tell me I need to clip a few threads. lol
