SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Nov 10th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Nov 10, 2022 5:48 am

Good morning,

We are 34* here by dry with slight breeze. I can deal with it. I'll be bundled for my walk this morning, for sure!

Yesterday was a full day and today will be different but equally busy. We delivered those stockings to David and I have 8 more (the very last ones) cut out. I might or might not get them sewn today. I've developed a streamlined method of sewing them. I simply layer the front and back, RST, with two sides of lining and sew up the sides. I clip the inside curve of the stocking, turn it, and sew on the cuff and hanger. But that doesn't have priority today. I'll be washing sheets, cleaning the house, and stowing last minute things. Yesterday we found everything on Autumn's list that she can't find in Texas, so that's more stuff to stow (A case of Henry Weinhard's rootbeer and orange cream soda, 2 jars of Nalley's dill pickles, 2 big bags of Tim's Cascade potato chips, and a brick of Tillamook extra sharp white cheddar). We are happy to cater to her every pregnant wish!

We almost got into an accident yesterday. A car pulled out of a parking lot right in front of us. Bill had our SUV practically on its nose with about 2 feet to spare. Thank goodness no one was close behind us. The driver simply did not see our big bright red SUV 25 feet from him, I guess. Angels! We never leave home without them!

JANA - Love the Frankenjeep! I hope he has all the parts this time. Sarah to the rescue with the rehearsal! I bet she'd love to conduct the actual performances. I haven't had hamburger gravy over mashed potatoes in years. One of my old standbys! Thanks for the timely reminder.

BECCA - I'm glad you got some needles threaded. Do you have any needle threaders? They do help.

TINA - a bummer about the boards. I guess I'd be telling my everlovin' if he's so impatient he can do the painting himself. It triples the work not to mention the time to put up raw boards. Is there a weather window he's trying to work with? Sorry about your dad's tooth. Some cancer treatments are really rough on teeth. Soup is the comfort food of all comfort foods.

CAROL - I hope your new lenses fix the problem. My dr hasn't mentioned my astigmatism for several years now. But I'm not having any problems. I really only need my glasses for close up work now. I do have baby cataracts, though.

No cooking here tonite We're going out for Mexican with Tex & Annette. I'm already tasting a yummy supper!

What's your plan?

Good morning everyone!
Mary, I can't seem to do stockings as fast as you, yoooouuuuuu rock! That's so sweet you get to cater to the pregnancy wishes of your DD ❤❤
I told Frankie he'll have to get on the ladder to paint the top part first 🤷‍♀️ he didn't get anything done yesterday LOL maybe he's regretting his decision.
We're supposed to be in the low 20's by Tuesday morning!
I have a kink in my neck I'm trying to work out 🤞 I'm doing little bits of sewing though ❤
I didn't make the soup last night, Dad had to go back to the dentist yesterday and get a couple more stitches and he told him to just eat yogurt for a couple days.
I'm going to thaw those pork chops for tonight though and make some mac and cheese and have applesauce.

Mary, how wonderful you can bring Autumn her favorite foods. Bet you can't wait to see her. Glad you guys didn't get hit. People seem to be in a hurry and don't pay attention.

Tina, hope you can get the kink out.

I came here yesterday several times and got distracted. I did some errands yesterday and read my book. Also cleaned a bit. I picked up a new pair of glasses and I'm getting used to them. The lens is bigger, so my field of vision is a little different.

Don't know what's for dinner just yet. I think we should go out.

Have a lovely day.

Mary, so glad Bill got stopped in time. It's getting scary driving around here and we have a small town. I don't know how some of these people have drivers licenses..... maybe they don't!
